  1. I kinda hope Hackett stays on in some sort of assistant role, being that he's young, it'd be a good learning experience, and maybe by the time Roman takes a HC job somewhere, Hackett would be able to step up with lessons learned to keep some sort of consistency in place. But I'm likely thinking too far ahead at this point.
  2. Still waiting on that "unsure/I don't know" option
  3. 99% of the time, the only thing that matters. Players will follow the paycheck, it's that simple.
  4. Mods can we get someone to change the poll?
  5. If we get decent blocking, I have no problem with Fred/Spiller/Brown/Boobie
  6. Wish there was an option for "I don't know" Part of me feels like it doesn't really change anything, because he's never helmed a particularly capable offense before.
  7. I don't like it. So I assume this means we lose Schwartz and change defensive systems? And have a HC who has failed to effectively develop two young QBs? And from what I've seen, is pretty terrible at game planning? Dear god I hope my pessimism is wrong on this.
  8. Ugh. Won't he be more of the same? Can't run a team with a decent offense, just relies on a good defense? Then he brings along drama with the media? Sweet. Bills move.
  9. Wow what a terrible play call.
  10. Amazing that Baltimore is controlling this game, but the refs are keeping the Patriots in it.
  11. The fact that EJ has only had 14 games, playing for a coach who is miserable, and an offensive system that is questionable, and yet still produced early/rookie numbers that fall in line with many successful QBs gives me hope that he can still develop. I just hope the damage is reversible.
  12. No one here will be surprised, but I support publicly funded higher education, I think along with publicly funded healthcare, it strengthens a workforce to become more efficient, and capable. That being said, in our country, with our corruption, imbalances, and fear of regulation, it simply won't work. If Obama wanted this to actually pass, he would have brought it up during his first couple years, when Democrats had complete power. Instead, this comes off a political maneuver, something to just rally with "look, Republicans don't support education". I will say, since almost all middle class jobs these days require a Bachelor's, getting kids a "free" (yes, I know taxes pay for this, and I'm ok with it) first couple years will be a big help to easing the burden of student loans. At least until University's respond by increasing prices exponentially. Which is where regulations would need to come in, and that's an impossible battle.
  13. He fit Chan's system. He didn't fit Marrone's system. So it really depends on what system comes next, if I want him here or not.
  14. I don't understand why this is a debate. Both are talented young WRs. OBJ had a better year, but played in a better system, so it skews things a bit, but unless we put them in the *exact* same scenario, it'll be difficult to tell "who's better" right away.
  15. well played
  16. What are the odds of an American citizen getting beheaded by an Islamic extremist? And can you compare them to the odds of death by other means? I need to know exactly how worried I'm supposed to be.
  17. 30 second search: http://www.wsj.com/articles/muslim-leaders-condemn-attack-warn-on-anti-islamic-sentiment-in-europe-1420654885 http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/world/france-s-muslim-leaders/1575190.html http://www.ibtimes.com/moderate-muslims-use-jesuischarlie-condemn-charlie-hebdo-attack-paris-1775986 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01/07/muslims-respond-charlie-hebdo_n_6429710.html As far as getting support from nations that are headed by extremist ideologies? Well, that's not going to happen.
  18. Currently, yeah, it's a lot of Islam. Throughout history, it's varied. And it always comes down to extremism, not the particular god(s) you subscribe to. It wasn't that long ago when we had an organized group of Christian extremists murdering African Americans, Jews and Catholics, all in the name of Jesus Christ.
  19. Yay, religious extremists.
  20. That's the risk of developing just about any young QB, though.
  21. Sorry, it's hard to tell around here with some of the opinions thrown around
  22. I'm not sure anyone can consider Manziel to be a sure thing. And wasn't Bortles taken before our pick? Or is the assumption that we should have traded the farm for him? Also, it looks like Bortles had a worse rookie year than Manuel... so I'm a bit confused.
  23. What sure thing QB has Whaley missed out on during 2013 and 2014?
  24. I can't speak for anyone else, but it's less that Marrone is definitely to blame, and more "well ****, I don't know now..." Basically I can't say if EJ is *definitely* terrible, or if Marrone sucked at developing a young QB with promise. So I go into next season with hope that it's the latter.
