  1. The deep fade is my least favorite pass, and yet we threw it all the time. I don't understand the appeal. It's really difficult to place correctly, and requires the WR to beat out skilled CBs, while not getting pushed out of bounds? Seems inefficient.
  2. I'm not sure anyone is anointing EJ or Hackett, I wish people would stop polarizing things like that. Me, I don't think it's fair to make final judgment on either in light of Marrone. I think EJ could still develop in the right situation. I think Hackett has shown promise during some play designs (remember all the wide open receivers) while also failing at others. Being that he's very young, he could still turn out to be decent in the future. However that is not me saying he's the answer right now.
  3. OBJ deserves it, but good for Sammy making it into the final round.
  4. His natural game was coached out of him... you can see it last year when the 2 minute drill happens, and he is forced to play loose, in which he's pretty solid, imo.
  5. It's amazing how quickly fans give up on young players.
  6. Maybe I'm ignorant, but I think Bradham played "solid" not great football this year. That being said, I'm all for locking him up, I'd love to have an intact LB corps that can develop together. We also need to bring in some young talent at DT and DE to develop behind Mario and Kyle on the line.
  7. This thread, or something like it, should be pinned... something with a general round up of Bills coaching news... instead of reading through every candidate thread.
  8. Just reporting what was sent to my phone.
  9. ESPN just sent out a notification that Reich is being interviewed today...
  10. Dalton > KO, but not good enough to win games on his own.
  11. Being that Hackett is young, I'd be ok with the Bills keeping him on staff, but as assistant offensive coordinator, while bringing in an experienced OC to run the show. Hackett can design some nice plays, as evident with open receivers... but he also draws up some really poor running and blocking schemes, from what I can tell (or our talent is really really bad). I think he just needs more experience, and the fact that Marrone brought him in to be the OC is just mind boggling.
  12. RIP Was a little obnoxious early on, but rounded out into being quite wonderful.
  13. I understand why we did it, and I'm glad he's on our team, because he is a stud... just yeah, it's a risky move when we're weak at the QB position. Here's hoping EJ develops with new staff/scheme, as I just don't see any FA QB being anything better than what Orton provided us.
  14. Done, thanks
  15. Quotes don't show up at all correctly on my iPad iOS 8, and the reply box on the bottom is super tiny.
  16. Gotta say, I agree with Marrone on this one. Glad we have Sammy and all, but frankly the cost was too high since we have no one to throw it to him, and no offensive scheme to utilize his skills.
  17. Top choice is someone with a strong background in creating a productive offense, but if, and only if, we can retain some defensive consistency. Whether it be Schwartz, or if we feel one of the assistants can step up and do the same job, I don't really care. I have a sinking feeling though, that no matter who we pick, we'll continue to be competent on one side of the ball, only.
  18. Even if he was in Buffalo, what's wrong with being bored with a town you're in all the time? I live in one of the biggest metro areas in the US, and I battle boredom, sometimes a change of scenery is needed. People are too sensitive.
  19. Did Whaley choose Marrone, or did Nix? If Whaley chose Marrone, and Marrone was terrible (according to many), then why the optimism with Whaley choosing the next coach?
  20. Did he not pick Marrone? Or was that Nix?
  21. EJ + Sammy + CJ would possibly be appealing to Chip... But, yeah, that's probably not happening.
  22. I have a feeling Hackett will be a decent OC in the future, but right now he needs to be an assistant sort or something. His run design, and blocking schemes (at least with our talent) have been a mess. On the other hand, our receivers get open (but our QB ignores them), and the package plays truly fool defenses at times. So it's not all negative. He also seems like a fun, generally likeable guy, unlike Marrone... so hopefully he can develop as a coach, and have a nice career.... just not here... at least for right now.
  23. Very snappy, here.
