  1. I just want to clarify my opinion. - I do not think all blocking is dirty - I don't think blocking a pursuing player is dirty - I admit that it's on an edge, and was possibly retaliation for the earlier late hit on Jackson The reason I have issue with it is three-fold, the play is going towards the right, and Wood is blocking back towards his endzone. Matthews is already out of the play at this point, as well. Lastly, it's a clear that the intention was to put a shot on him, he throws his shoulder up to get a high hit on Matthews. Is this anger and frustration? Intention to hurt? Dunno. I'm fine with being disagreed with, and fully understand I'm in the minority, but I also don't like when my opinion is misrepresented. It may very well be a legal hit, but it still came off as cheap to me.
  2. I'm ok with Marrone.. not always fine with his decisions, but he's definitely put together a decent staff in places, and the team is on board with his attitude. Whaley I'll give more time, he needs to go out and get us a better OL. QB I forgive, because that's not easy, hence why there's only a handful of good ones in the league. If our offensive line was better, and our scheme was improved (Hackett isn't bad at drawing up plays, but I don't think he adjusts to games and team strengths wonderfully, and I'm not sold on his blocking designs) we could be a contender next year... and that's with KO/EJ. Somehow land a better QB and the sky's the limit.
  3. No playoffs = failed season, imo. Sure, a 10-6 failure is better than a 6-10 failure, but they're effectively the same thing.
  4. Oh, I thought Gragg was already on IR, that's the easy choice.
  5. We have a 6% chance of making the playoffs, that's not coach of the year material.
  6. I'm uncomfortable sitting any RBs because of how fragile CJ and Fred are. I can imagine them both going down and having to rely on Boobie, and that doesn't bode well. But yeah, it'd probably be Brown.
  7. I liked that we lined up a RB out wide a couple times and actually threw it that way once, CJ would be perfect for that sort of mismatch.
  8. There's another thread about the "Holy Roller" which is where this rule came from... I didn't know what was going on yesterday, I thought they were calling it an incomplete pass when they were blowing the whistle so early. (And in fact, I thought it would be reviewed, and overruled, as a pass... because I'm a Bills fan) This was the first time I've seen this call, personally, glad it was in our favor!
  9. Even if we win against Oakland, our chances of making the playoffs are still really slim, the NFL would have more intriguing matchups to air on SNF.
  10. True, looks like they won two of their last four, those two being at home against KC and SF, teams that are no pushovers. This could prove a way more difficult game than many are suspecting.
  11. ....that can't be real. Can it?
  12. Better than some players outright saying they are going to test the market, etc etc
  13. So according to that site, we need PIT, SF, DEN, and HOU to win this upcoming week, along with the Bills taking care of business.
  14. Are any of them accurate enough to hit each other, anyways?
  15. I still have no clue. Romo does well with a good OL, from what we are seeing, but we don't have a good OL. Cam and RG3 have mobility that would be useful with a bad OL, but both are regressing from their early career successes. We really need to fix the OL.
  16. Truth. Even if odds are slim, it's exciting.
  17. In real time, I could see why it's called, but in the replay it's clearly a clean hit. So the question is, can you review these sorts of calls? I assume not, since we are discussing it the next day.
  18. Forgot about Chargers, you're absolutely right there, my apologies. So ESPN's site cannot be trusted.
  19. Do we have enough common games? Edit: Only three common games are shown (since we play Mia twice, and they play Cle twice).
  20. I see what you're saying... I had the interpretation that the Bills would be applied as the 6th seed in that scenario instead of resetting. ESPN Playoff machine still shows the Bills as 6th seed, though in that scenario... I just now noticed the tiebreaker details, which shows: http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/machine/_/factor/powerranking/results/400554449~1~400554438~2~400554405~2~400554441~2~400554413~1 Hopefully that's accurate haha Do want to say, this all depends on pretty weird results of games happening, so this discussion regarding PIT, BAL, and BUF at 10-6 with everyone else not, is probably moot.
  21. I guess I missed where they reset. I'll read up more.
  22. To me it looked higher, and that the defender wasn't actively pursuing (depends on actively, seemed like a lazy jog towards the ball). That's not an engaged block, that's a hit on another player not expecting a hit, hence why I think it's a bit dirty. It may full well be legal, I'm not clear. "Dirty" is simply subjective, and I'm fine with disagreeing with others on it. To me it's either dirty, or very close to being dirty. The Hughes hit, though, was no question dirty
  23. If not for Watt, I think Mario would be getting some national attention. But who cares, it's a team game, the man is helping us win, so big kudos to him.
