  1. We have LBs. If we lose Sammy, that means Woods has to take on double coverage, and Hogan gets a starting calibur CB on him, and we're kinda SOL.
  2. I don't think they do, I asked which is more likely.
  3. Dude, if Rambo cuts a half step later, and Cobb catches the ball, it'd be a non discussion. Earlier in the post, Duke misses out on a similar play, and it was a completion, and there's no discussion about it. That sort of QB decision, "appears to be open" is very normal, sometimes a defensive player makes a good enough play to change "open" to "covered" while the QB delivers the ball. To me this is a case of the Bills learning GB's tendancies, and making strong plays. My biggest issue with Rodgers in this play is that he threw the ball a little late, and a little behind Cobb. Rambo would have whiffed big time on his gamble if Rodgers threw it earlier and hit Cobb in stride. So I agree Rodgers was imperfect, but I have zero issues with his decision, and recognize that Rambo made a good defensive play on the ball that was thrown. AW had a good angle, imo. If he was behind Nelson, then yeah, Nelson is gone... but AW was a couple yards in front of Nelson and heading towards him at full speed where Nelson had to slow down just a tad for the catch. I just don't think this is a guaranteed 94 yard TD like everyone is touting.
  4. But are there OCs who could improve us from a 25th ranked offense, to a 15th ranked offense? That's really all we need if our defense is ranked #1.
  5. Dareus, QB (assuming said QB is better than KO/EJ), OG
  6. What's more likely? Getting a top 10 QB, or finding an OC who can work with the deficiency of talent on offense?
  7. Caveman won't be out of the NFL, he'll latch onto another team as a #2, he just didn't really fit the Bills scheme. Woods and Watkins are better route runners, and Hogan is a better slot guy. And Caveman probably doesn't do special teams as well. I have no doubt that he can still play, he just needs to be on the right team.
  8. "He appeared to be open" is not the wrong decision. It was a good play by Rambo, end of story.
  9. Guess we'll agree to disagree, I see him sliding over when Rodgers comes out of the play action and ignores the right side of the field. Rambo's pre snap lines him up on the right side, which causes Rodgers to ignore that side, because he thinks he has an easy left side play, as the play starts Rambo slides towards center field to "reset", and as Rodgers looks to the left, Rambo makes a break.
  10. I assume by not releasing it, Sony is due for an insurance payout. Unless they can capitalize on release, I doubt it sees the light of day legitimately.
  11. Some obese people are obese due to circumstances beyond their control, disorders, genetics, whatever. Some obese people are obese due to being stupid. Kinda wish there was a little differentiation between the two groups in these conversations.
  12. Because Rambo was reacting to Rodgers the entire play, if Rodgers looks at Nelson, then Rambo would have gone that way. Rodgers probably could have looked him off, but it's dangerous to do that for very long with a front four like the Bills.
  13. I also think AW would have been in position to make a tackle on that Nelson drop.
  14. Pretty sure Manning still got a W against us...
  15. Someone else will overpay for him. The Bills know his value, but also his limitations. Hopefully we can find someone decent to replace him.
  16. I think he's done better at that the last couple weeks.
  17. Ding ding ding. A successful run game, would allow us to be less one dimensional during certain downs, and with certain field position. Not only that it opens up better play action (something EJ is quite good at, imo), keeps defenses honest, and gives our defense more time to rest.
  18. After reading the first line of your post, I was about to say... "but our offense..." Then you nailed it.
  19. Developing behind a vet doesn't work that way? I'd argue that more rookie QBs should be doing that for their first year or two. Instead we throw guys in the fire early, and if they aren't immediate successes, we run them out of the league.
  20. I think Chandler is an underrated TE. I'm not saying he's top 5 or anything, but the guy produces, gets open, is a mismatch problem, and is an adequate blocker. He's "slow" but he's tall, so he covers ground efficiently. I don't think he's the problem with our offense, personally. That being said, Smith/Gragg/Gray hasn't really given us anything, so I'd like to see another TE to replace those three (and maybe be the top TE, with Chandler backing him up).
  21. My mind is all over the place on the QB front: Better offensive line, offensive scheme, and more effective running game, we wouldn't really "need" a better QB. KO can get the job done with the above, but without the above we need better EJ right now, can maybe get the job done with the above EJ might improve heading into next year, who knows. Development of QB is a tricky thing. I also think he would develop better in a different system, with different offensive coaches. Cutler, Eli, and the like, I don't think are a significant step up from KO, and the price for them would likely be too high Kaepernick... he's had success, but also struggles when the game is on him, isn't that the same problem we have? Cam would be a great pickup, but again, what's the price, and would he succeed with this offense and coaching staff? All in all, I see us going into next season with EJ and either KO, or another mid level vet. The most likely thing is for us to improve the OL, and hopefully (dear god, hopefully) an improvement in scheme.
  22. I'm really anxious to see what, if any, changes are made to how we approach free agency, and re-signing. I feel like for the most part, we underspent for many years up until recently. I have to wonder if the "change" already happened when Russ took over operations. * I say this knowing zilch about nada, I don't know a whole lot about how NFL spending works compared to other leagues.
  23. I'm thinking this is going to be a hilariously low scoring affair. I'm going with 9-6, Bills eek out a win.
