  1. Was obvious before the draft and more so post draft.
  2. I am not an expert on these two - can you compare and contrast why Williams is because better?
  3. This looks like a modern NFL draft. The priority is to pass the ball, protect the passer and rush the passer. You also need to build cheap depth at expensive positions. Pass rusher and pass defenders get paid. So the first 4 picks setup the team in the future. I would have liked a CB earlier but the value was not there. Beane made good moves that will pay dividends in the future. There is no reason to believe the draft was a failure. Rating it low because the team did it differently than you thought is not a good reason. Pick a QB high or pick an injured player who will retire, that is a bad draft.
  4. Since you don't know what was offered, how do you know trading back was the best move?
  5. Seems like Jones and Cam will run different types of offenses - will the Pats have an identity?
  6. I am in the CB/Edge camp but if WR/RB is the BPA, I trust Beane to make the best decision. No one hits 100% so the misses will happen.
  7. Any suggestions? These threads work better if you start with some ideas.
  8. The follow-up question is what is the total grade distribution. If you move back, are you getting a 3rd round talent in the 2nd? Getting a 2nd round talent in the 3rd? You need both pieces of info to make decision.
  9. I think you were reading into this a bit much but looks like it hit a nerve.
  10. People complain about Knox dropping passes, Engram lost a game for the Giants last year with a drop. Pass.
  11. #199. Hits him hard for needing constant watching to work and stay in shape. Ossai was #47. Says he projects as 3-4 edge.
  12. One data point but here are the rankings below for the players in consideration for the Bills 3rd round pick, #93. This is based on Dane Brugler from The Athletic. #103 RB Michael Carter, UNC #68 RB Kenneth Gainwell, Memphis #137 WR Anthony Schwartz, Auburn #88 WR D’Wayne Eskridge, Western Michigan #83 OT James Hudson, Cincinnati #71 OG Deonte Brown, Alabama #172 CB Trill Williams, Syracuse # 93 S Hamsah Nasirildeen, Florida State #100 OT Spencer Brown Northern Iowa #99 OG Trey Smith Tennessee #115 OG Ben Cleveland Georgia #138 Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M
  13. Gil Brandt on NFL radio today said a 4th round pick this year would have been a 6th round last year. So yes, a weak class. That said, there are always diamonds to be found. Beane earns his pay in a weak year, not as much in a strong year.
  14. With the 49th pick, the Cincinnati Bengals select Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri. The Bengals need to get better on D. With DTs coming back from injury, LB was a clear need. Bolton is a 2 time all SEC LB who can grow into playing all 3 downs. He plays with an attitude and he plays fast. He is not afraid of contact but needs to shed blockers better. With the first 2 rounds (3rd round pick traded to move back into 1st) the Bengals have added: Christian Darrisaw, OT Kadarius Toney, WR Jayson Oweh, Edge Nick Bolton, LB While still a few years from contending in a tough division, these player will improve Cincinnati as a team overall. The Bucs @BigdaddyinOrlandoare on the clock. Thanks for organizing and executing @Virgil and @whatdrought.
