I don't think so i believe that how McCarron being traded to the Raiders came by Bean talking trade with them for Mack & McCarron being part of that trade but Bean wasn't going to go with 2 first rounders so when that deal fell apart the Raiders decided to come back to Bean & take McCarron in a separate deal giving the Bills a 3rd round pick ...

Could be why they don't know how to play at the NFL level or speed when they get drafted & need a yr or more before the game comes to them just a thought ...

BRILLIANT !!! ? So this is where it came from !!

There's a lot of talk around the last preseason game of each yr on talk shows around the league about adding regular season games & taking a couple of games away from the preseason . Yesterday i even heard one talk show host say add 2 games to the regular season & give players another bye week then make it mandatory that the big name players have to sit out 1 of the added games as to not get hurt ? brilliant ! One big thing about this controversy that i don't get is, how will the coaches determine if the rookies can play against vets at the NFL speed & do well if they have 2 less games ? (Because they say game speed is different than practice speed) Even the players say they get tired of practicing against the guys on their own team & welcome the change of the preseason to hit some one different. I know there is always the threat of injury which is part of the equation but a lot of teams are now sitting their team Vets like Shady & Kyle ! Then if you add to this like in the Bills situation this yr adding a new OC that is implementing a new scheme how will that work out given less games to try & put some of these concepts in ? I know a lot of the preseason is pretty vanilla but you here of (especially when guys hold out) that they come in in shape but have to work their way into "Game Shape" ! Isn't that part of the preseason too getting into game shape ? Guys now days work out all year long as they should given the amount of money they make they need to eat, breath, sleep, & S**T football all year round in my eyes if there is any justification for the money they make . But last year when Laveon Bell held out & got into the Steelers camp they talked how he wasn't in "Game Shape" & had to play himself into game shape . Then didn't get there until a couple of weeks into the season ! I also heard these talk show hosts say that the 4th preseason game isn't up to NFL standards & that would be another reason to make the preseason 2 games shorter but the reason why the last game isn't up to "NFL standards" is it's a game of players with less experience to get some tape on them to see if they can be coached into NFL shape & with out that tape & playing time to determine that how will those type of things be figured out ? Now with the new developmental league starting that is more than likely the plan to do away with some games so the owners can charge for 2 more games when it comes to selling their product to TV that would insure more playing/developmental time for those that might have a chance of making a team . if they do add games which i hope they don't they need to add more players to the active roster too ! Personally i think if it ain't broke don't fix it but some how the powers that be will continue to make changes to things that could make the game we all use to love & couldn't wait to see each week a thing of the past like MNF !! I don't think this will be a controversy although anything is possible ! The part about Flutie having a week arm is out the window, sure dude didn't have the gun maybe that Favre had or Rogers but his was a lot stronger than Petermans for sure ! And Peterman is only in his second season he really has no history to this point that proves him to be a winner unlike Flutie did ! Then there is the fact that Allen being a 1st rounder is at some point going to be given the reigns & was brought here specifically to be the future of the team Johnson was also brought in because Ralph thought he was some awesome QB which i'm not saying he was a bad one just he didn't have the "IT" factor ! I would hope the Peg's would have enough confidence in their hires to do their job & not meddle & stick to the things they know about that would be a good thing !! Johnson could have been a starter in the NFL but by his performance after the Bills debacle with him he sure didn't do much with what ever chances he had after . Too given the fact that he may have had a better chance if certain people would have let those they hire to do a job do it the way they see fit he could have had a different out come with his career but because of what happened in B/lo his legacy will be one less thought of than what it could have been !!

As long as Dabol works the way that McD does & if he can't get the O line figured out this yr & fires the apparent problem the O line coach immediately after the season i think he will be there longer but if they have a bad season & like McD can't see where the problem lies the Pegula's might just make the move for them !!

I've read some where that Gruen didn't think he had a back up QB on the roster so McBean should package AJ, Corey Coleman, & Shaq Lawson plus a #1 & a 2 for Mack ! Who ever the jack ass was that let Mack get out of B/lo in the first place should be slapped in the head I'm pretty sure it was Whaley the same year he pulled the brilliant trade to get Watkins which makes that move even more ignorant !!

Dabol was brought in & basically told to use what he's got already in place which in some instances is a good thing because to much change can be a bad thing but in this case i think Dabol should be able to have who he wants as his O line coach . If Castillo had come with a resume of turning O lines around into perennial top 10 lines that would be 1 thing but i can't remember him being on a bunch of really good teams of late sure he did a stint with some decent teams in Philly which is where he has his connection with McD but since then he's not done a lot of nothing !! Given what McD had here still under contract when he was hired that was working really well with the personal on hand meaning Arron Kromer & given the fact that since he has went to L.A. their running game has become a huge reason why they are on the upswing makes the move to let Kromer go look real close to the blunder that was Rex letting Schwartz walk ! Why can't these new coaches go into to teams & look before they leap ? See what's working & just LEAVE IT ALONE !!

It sure looks that way but i'm glad the Bills got the best of Ritchie & not the worst !! It's to bad because while he was here he seemed to be a real good guy & team mate ! I wonder if he ever reached out to E. Wood or Shady while all this stuff was going on ? We've heard the stuff that Incognito said he leaned on Wood a bit when he first came here ... He has been a definite bright spot this year i guess if we can find one a year we are about 18 yrs from being a winner ?

Bodine is a depth player at best from anything i have read from a Bengals site the job should be Groys to loose & just for the simple fact that Mills, & Ducasse are still pencilled in as starters makes me wonder about the competency of Castillo as the O line coach !! He's not shown anything in a while that can prove he is a coach they need to keep to move into the future they are striving for I hope they can see that sooner rather than later !! Ducasse & Mills need to be traded out for Teller & Gerhard or the other guy they picked up from NE's practice squad if they are going to be bad on the O line don't let it be because of a vet that has a proven bad playing history go with a kid that could have a higher potential ... At least that way they have the excuse of the unknown on their side !!

I agree 150% but L.A. is awfully glad & look at what their offense has came from & went to just since he's came there . But according to others replying to this post coaching has nothing to do with it it's all talent based . Okay Den !!

Sorry i don't usually like to be a hater & still don't think i am being a "hater" per say but Juan Castillo has never really done any thing for me or relevant in the NFL ! Oh he did get SB ring with the Ravens because they brought him on as a irrelevant assistants assistant near the end of the year they won the SB that's the reason why he has a SB ring but other than that & that he has a bunch of experience at coaching he really hasn't proven he's a winning coach at his chosen trade ! I never did like the choice of him by McD because i remember the debacle in Philly with Andy Reid when he got fired from there because of changing him from one coaching position to another . A great person, great work ethic, good leader, but when it comes to results it just doesn't come to be & if last years tape & this years 2 preseason games, the one AJ started & then this one with Allen starting shows anything then it could be time to move on already ! Sure i know you all will say what every one else is saying about the loss of Wood & Incognito that the O line is in flux but a good coach can at the very least see the strengths of the players he has & devise something that looks better than what was seen on the field for the start of the last 2 preseason games ! Also with the Rookie talent they have gotten in the draft & the fact that no one on the team can see that Ducasse & Mills are average at best & that Castillo was more than likely one that wants to keep Ducasse in the line up as a starter sends a huge red flag to me ! Yes i am only a fan but I've seen Ducasse & read other so called experts say he is past his prime & it shows ! Mills has been talked about as being such for 2 yrs & he's still a starter so if he can't see that weakness how can things get any better ? Ducasse & Mills have been nothing less than average or below for the Bills since they have been inserted into the line & for the coach Castillo to put Ducasse in & keep him in while having other more better ? players sitting in wait behind them just shows he (Castillo) could be a problem too ! Castillo really has nothing on his resume but a SB ring that he got for signing late in the year to the Ravens when they won their SB beyond that the guy might be a decent position coach but thats all ! He was part of the Andy Reid bad decision to move him to a new position while in Philly & the wheels fell off of that too ! I don't know what McD see's in this guy but he ain't no Arron Kromer that's for sure !! I think his blocking scheme's are worth a flip with the people the Bills have !! If the O line is going to suck at least give them a reason & start some rookies ! But i agree the sky is not falling !!

This doesn't really surprise me any good GM would want to fish a bit to see what it would take especially with the amount of cap room they will have next year ! But they have a lot more pressing issues on the table right now Bean might just be sowing the seed in Macks mind to let him know that the Bills would be interested if he can't get a longterm deal done this year with the Raiders .

I guess they wanted to match the game i didn't get to watch it but from what i understand the game was pretty bad for Bills fans any way you slice it !!

Former Bengals center & Bills free agent as we all know is in a battle to be the starting center for the Bills since E. Wood had to retire yah i know that's old news & I for one hope & have seen Groy look to play & hold the position much better while in the line up than Bodine, that being said i hope that Groy is our next starting center . It seems as though that some of the writers that have followed the Bengals during the time that Bodine was on the team look at his time there as less than stellar which could be the reason why he was allowed to walk i guess . I don't claim to know a lot about the guy only that he was durable while with the Bengals but we need more that ! From what we saw from Groy while filling in for E.Wood i think IMHO that he should be the starter especially if the beginning of the Browns game said any thing to us as far as the first ten snaps looked when AJ couldn't do anything because of what the Browns D line was doing to our O line when it came to pressure . This week with Allen starting i think if Groy is in there i think he may be the guy going forward or at least i hope so ! If by any chance that Allen is being looked at to be the Bills starter e will need all the help he can get & starting up front is a huge way to help him perform at a high level, keeping him off his back is a definite positive to a rookies maturation & confidence ! I was more hoping that Matthews might be one they would consider but it's a crowded room & they have plenty of unproven talent that they could be high on that are their own draft picks . Britt has been on the down hill slide since he left the Titans so i really don't see McBean picking him up with what they have on hand but if no one steps up as the slot guy i could see Mathews helping who ever winds up being the QB but his recent injury bug has been a bad thing for him !!

To me Jones isn't a shoe in to make the roster the guy hasn't proven any thing ! In the game against the Browns i didn't see him make any impact at all & i for sure didn't see any one targeting him to make that difference & he didn't draw any heavy coverage by the Browns D . Holmes has the ST thing on his side along with his experience so i think he has more of a chance to stick with all the talk about Cam Phillips in training camp & if Ray Ray continues to impress i think it's a open race for any of them to make the team . As McD says they have to earn the right to be on the team so just being a vet doesn't mean some of those will make the team & a number of them have practice squad eligibility so i think 1 or more could be placed there .
