  1. Data looks bloated. I have no doubt this will be a success. CBS seemed to pull it together story wise with the other Star Trek show.
  2. If you can't impeach a President who actually committed a crime while in office with airtight evidence and witnesses of said crime, there's no chance of impeaching a President who has committed no crime while in office with zero proof and zero witnesses. They hand 2020 to Trump if they try to go through with it.
  3. Famous actor. They seem to do pretty good and there are a couple routes to get there. Sometimes you need just one "great" movie or tv show to make your career. It's the one "famous" career where you can really retire from. (Sean Connery, James Caan, Gene Hackman). I'd make a hard pass on the famous athlete for what you put your body through. I think it's a difficult climate for musicians today. No MTV, no real tapes or records to sell anymore, so its endless touring if you want to make money.
  4. Frosted Cherry. If I absolutely positively had to enter an eating contest, they'd be a likely choice.
  5. I watch it but I agree it's a terrible mess. Strand is a hilarious character. This dude has a yacht. He flies planes. He drives tractor trailers. He knows how to set up and pilot a hot air balloon. Can't wait for the submarine!
  6. Could be a clunker with the director changes, rewrites right before filming and the added audience expectations. It'll be interesting to see how they give gravitas to Rami Malek as the film's villain. The McQuarrie/Cruise M:I series gets better with every installment with the set pieces, story depth and the acting.
  7. I think the FBI finding that Boeing, the airlines and even elements of the United States government (FAA) engaged in criminal conspiracy over the shortcomings of the 737 MAX airplane will trigger the global recession everyone is talking about.
  8. Counter to the counter! (Just kidding.) I think it's working for now but I think we're experiencing the later stages of peak NFL as the decade draws to a close. I think there are some significant headwinds forthcoming. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered, as they say.
  9. The NFL needs smaller stadiums, less teams, less games, less exposure and a minor league for GMs, coaches and players to learn - to have sustainable success. It's a bloated, overexposed operation already.
  10. The team should be congratulated for its accomplishments. I'm always happy for the US to win championships in international sports. However, I find the 2019 team really unlikable and obnoxious. The team's accomplishment has been largely overshadowed by Megan Rapinoe's thirst for publicity.
  11. Tarantino is my #2 favorite "modern" director behind Michael Mann. I wish Tarantino would make his version of Heat and Mann make his version of Pulp Fiction since both do the Los Angeles canvas so well. Looking forward to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
  12. "Busing" isn't a 21st century issue. The DNC needs to tell Harris and Biden to pivot to a relevant topic. Busing isn't going to take Biden down either.
  13. John Delaney revealed last night why "Medicare For All" is never going to happen. It either triggers a rash of hospital closures nationwide or puts the federal budget on an even more absurd deficit trajectory. The hospitals that already have a large Medicare patient population are constantly on the brink of closure or end up closing. For example, Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia announced closure yesterday. The economics do not work. You don't make money being a Medicare for All hospital presently. Medicare reimburses medical costs substantially lower than commercial (private) insurance and there is constant pressure to reduce or freeze those reimbursements all the time. Instead of showing proof of health insurance, Obamacare should have required proof of you seeing a doctor for a checkup every year. Healthcare sucks in this country because we have too many people seeing a doctor for the first time after the heart attack, after the Diabetes has taken a foot, after the cancer has spread, after the obesity creates the shortness of breath, etc. We require inspections on cars as a preventative measure in all 50 states. Unsure why a similar approach isn't used for human beings.
  14. If my theory is correct and that Eric Swalwell is merely part of a satire comedy film that's in production, he's going to have a lot of hilarious one-liners, soundbites and "faces" in reaction to other candidates. Beto looked medicated.
  15. I had no idea some guy named Tim Ryan was running for President.
  16. I agree. Time is a tickin' because impeachment, "Trump Bad" and "Everything is Free" are all DOA platforms in the general. Everyone in America knows Trump is very likely the bad guy everyone thinks he is and he's still the favorite to win the election. That is their starting point.
  17. I don't think Robert Mueller wants to be the casus belli for any sort of impeachment proceeding. He isn't going to say anything that contradicts the official report. The Democrats really should pivot fully to 2020 and support their candidates and an actual platform of substance.
  18. You know the current iteration of the NRA is done for when Hickok45 ends his support of the organization. The entire organization needs to be burnt to the ground and rebuilt. CEO, Board, everybody goes.
  19. He's not the sole owner, is he? I think the Kansas City Chiefs are most definitely, absolutely, going to fire this guy from his show. The heat the Hunt family and Chiefs fans can bring is more than enough to get the job done.
  20. I appreciate your steely resolve to gate keep but he hasn't been fired.
  21. What's interesting is the Bell 206L3 is not a military helicopter. It's a police helicopter and air ambulance. My theory is that the three rings stand for liberty, order and justice.
  22. I don't think the Miami team has ever had owners who knew what they were doing besides making money strictly for themselves. I think the Marlins won those two World Series titles despite Wayne Huizenga and John Henry. It seems like every owner of the Marlins deliberately fire sales all the talent. So, for a Marlins fan, what's the point? Think about that...Huizenga, Henry and Jeffrey Loira have owned the Marlins. Now it appears to be owned by yet another fire-selling stooge (Bruce Sherman) who has inexplicably given Derek Jeter the reins to run a baseball front office. I used to be a Pirates fan but divorced the team. I could no longer take the cheapskate owner running it with no real plan to compete.
  23. Today's events in the Persian Gulf are still low wattage compared to the events of the mid-80s. Back then you had legitimate mining of the Gulf and several small scale offensive operations against the Iranians. The US Navy was in several battles with Iranian gunboats. You had an Iraqi jet fire Exocet missiles at the USS Stark. The USS Vincennes shot down an civilian Iranian air liner. You still had hostages in Lebanon.
  24. It's just a dumb negotiation ploy that will likely backfire for the team. The team desperately wants out of St. Pete but the city is holding firm on its contract until 2028. I don't know why MLB would even bother with the idea for more than 10 minutes. Splitting a team between two failed MLB cities? Come on. If anything it highlights to MLB's Captain Obvious you have a big problem with the Rays. The irony is that the Rays have been decent to above average and they are having a pretty good year. I just think that the market is a nightmare, the stadium is lousy and Florida likely can't support two teams. Time to go to Indianapolis, Charlotte or Nashville. FWIW, I loved the Expos uniforms but I think the new Expos would have the same issues the old Expos had.
