  1. I loved the Bills effort today. They all showed up. I am happy that this game was close, was winnable. I thought it was an exciting game. Was tired of hearing how the Bills would be blown right out of Florida. That being said, Tyrod can't be here next year and neither should Dennison. It's time to finally take the next step and you need more from the QB and OC to keep going in the playoffs.
  2. Free agency was good for the league. Fans love Carrie Underwood and whatever they call the abomination of rap and country in the blender for MNF. Los Angeles will be different this time.
  3. This paves the way for Peyton Manning on MNF. The good news for Raiders fans is Gruden won't be terrible. The bad news is that Jack Del Rio can get you the same exact results without the "personality" that will start wearing on you around Season 3 of that Supreme Court appointment contract.
  4. If Patricia and McDaniels both jet this off season, that means they've left with Bill's approval to do so and that would suggest he too, is on his way out of New England soon. Those guys wouldn't leave if he's sticking around.
  5. I figure the team can't just plug in a running back of the street with this zone blocking scheme. Knowing *where* the lanes are going to be is part of the play, but also knowing *when* they will be open is too. I'm pretty sure it's why audibles are far and few between. That's where corporate knowledge becomes the asset to have. It's why your practice squad players have more value than a free agent.
  6. You remember the Saints game? That's exactly what the Jags will try to do. That's where the Bills need to be creative.
  7. Dennison needs to go as does Castillo. I don't think a Super Bowl run would change my mind either. They are two coaches who try to fit personnel to *their* scheme and script and it's not a sustainable approach for success. I think it produces lazy, uninspiring and at times gutless football that really smart coaches figure out at halftime. (See: New England Patriots) That being said, I do think Dennison has gotten the memo of late that he needs more than a half of offensive plays and that running and hiding after halftime with a lead only works in the NBA.
  8. Screamed like a professional wrestler. Son and I ran around the house in 7 degree temps in just boxers. Said I'd do it if it happened. Man of my word.
  9. Historic day. I'm so happy it actually happened this year!
  10. I wouldn't fire them. I do think coaches should be able to appeal a booth ruling if they choose to do so. I hate the absolute nature of the booth review. This would necessitate a different referee looking at it. Essentially the NFL would need a backup booth referee system that is separate from the main one.
  11. Between the two, Mayfield. He shows up in big games and that's important. I think that's part of what makes that really awesome NFL QB. Some people try comparing Allen to Carson Wentz. The difference IMO is that Wentz led his teams to two titles. Allen really didn't lead Wyoming anywhere.
  12. Are we in the mid-90s again? I picked Kansas City simply because it's the more historic, established rivalry.
  13. I'd add the Jets, Broncos, Raiders and my darkhorse pick, the Packers. I think McCarthy has run his course in Green Bay and Elway will get a "name" this offseason.
  14. What Jason Garrett is to Jerry Jones, Jay Gruden is to Mike Brown and the Bengals. I think the Bengals will even go so far as trading for him. If they get Gruden, I believe Andy Dalton would stick around.
  15. That's bulletin board material for the Bengals. Keep it coming Seth.
  16. Offensive coordinator searches are fraught with terror but Dennison is lousy. He's just not good at that job. Retreads are stonecutters - they rely way too much on what's worked in the past. Young, inexperienced guys are scratch off lottery tickets. You can win big with a McVay or lose with a Nate Hackett. McVay is no super genius - his skill is in scheming around the talent, not vice versa. It's why Todd Gurley goes from never catching passes to now being a pass catching bulldozer out of the backfield. Todd Gurley could always catch passes. It's just Jeff Fisher still saw running backs through a circa 1995 lens. I'd rather take my chances with a younger coordinator. I think they are better at working with what they've got personnel wise. I think a retread comes in and tries to bolt on yet another completely different type of blocking scheme, running scheme, etc.
  17. He has significant health problems. I think this is an amicable retirement, not a firing.
  18. I'll add: Wheelman (Surprising gem.) Narcos (It's the Rosetta Stone of cinema - you'll be fluent in Spanish by the end of Season 1 and oddly skilled at smuggling.) The Punisher (IMO, the best of their superhero series.)
  19. Bengals/Ravens games are always a toss-up. I agree with others that the Bengals will show up for that one since he's been the defacto GM there and those players are "his" players. Further, Dalton needs to show that he can be the Bengals starter again next year. I also think the Jags will be at full throttle. That defense got dismantled by SF and you don't want your starters going into the playoffs with that memory. The team effort I worry most about is ours.
  20. Dennison is still a gutless coordinator. The Patriots adapt at half better than any team in football. You can't just run out there with the same, safe plan. BB loves predictable process guys.
  21. He's part of some really great memories when the Bills were always on, every Sunday, in Pennsylvania. It was rare to have a Sunday go by without hearing his voice.
  22. If the team doesn't show up with more effort than they showed up with in the Jets game, they all deserve to be fired. Coffee is for closers.
  23. Jets game. That loss was 100% on a lack of effort and professionalism.
