  1. In three consecutive years....who'd of thought that four years ago? Beane and McDermott have brought this franchise so damn far in such a relatively short period of time.
  2. I'll say 4 - 1 MNF, 2 SNF, and 1 Thursday Night...with another flexed in December
  3. I moved around quite a bit as kid with my family originally being from CNY and my father and stepmother staying in that area until 2002. So, when I finally came back to CNY as a 13 year old to stay, that's when the Bills really started hitting their stride in the late 80's. By 1990 and entering Jr. High School, they were dynamic and I was hooked. The fact that I could watch most of their games on the local NBC station, back when NBC carried the AFC games ( I HATED the black-out rule!!!), the color and design of the uniforms, and the fact that they were actually good and fun to watch, all played a part in birthing my fandom. During the drought years I was very invested because I was in my late teens to mid twenties and still riding high on those 4 consecutive Super Bowl runs, replaying so many moments over and over of what "could have" been....I still remember watching the live Draft when Whitner was taken 8th overall and being pissed and then realizing as much as I loved Marv for a coach, he couldn't be a GM. Also, Russ being a joke and incompetent in a similar role but not really having a GM only making the pain worse. Eventually, I made peace with the fact that they were just going to be bad and I decided to not let my Sundays be ruined and started a family which put it in perspective.... Now, with the revelation of Josh Allen - all the years of pain are starting to subside with some clear trauma still attached - and I don't just "hope" the Bills will be good or mediocre, but absolutely KNOW that if Josh stays healthy, the Bills are a contender and at times, a favorite in nearly every game. It's surreal, but so wonderful as a fan to survive the terrible two decades and see the team as it is today...
  4. I think this type of FA makes a difference without teams taking too much notice...OJ Howard has real potential.
  5. Thank for the poster that shared the Tottenham stadium video. Never saw it before and I don't watch soccer but for all my skepticism about the Bills building a non-dome stadium, the Tottenham stadium is really, really fricken nice. I still don't agree with an open air stadium, but the host of the video kept saying, "...cooking the grass..." and the smell that comes with it so I'm assuming that's what the Pegulas are envisioning. Regardless, I hope the wind is a strong consideration in terms of design and mitigating its impact, but the place will likely be just jaw dropping. Good to see the Bills finally coming into relevance in all phases of the NFL: team quality, management, superstar (JA) on national stage, multiple prime time games (I prefer the 1:00 time, but those games yield true attention and respect), and now venue. It's taken so long it almost doesn't feel real.....let's go Bills!!
  6. I'm not one to think Metcalf makes the Bills Offense measurably better when Davis is a very viable option AND it appears the Bills will be looking for a new slot WR, be it draft or FA. I think he's very talented and an athletic freak, but I've also seen in some games a demeanor or attitude I don't care for - especially given the core of the locker room. Lockett seems to be a better fit for the Bills in terms of talent and persona. However, I'd rather see the Bills add a CB, DL, TE2, and two WRs - one for the slot and one for pure speed to stretch the Defense, before adding a player like Metcalf. And that's nothing against him as a talent or WR, it's that I think the Bills have the aforementioned need *before* they really need to spend the Draft capital on a WR of Metcalf's type. JMO.
  7. Is the kielbasa homemade or do you have a “go to” brand?
  8. Why not? Sounds like a marriage made in heaven - he and Kraft can go Buddy-Buddy on a tuggy and happy ending.
  9. I believe the Bills can win this game because they're very good and well balanced. That said, much like beating the Patriots, until you unseat the Chiefs from their place in the AFC, they remain the team to beat and you have to do it before we can say the Bills have arrived at their objective. The Chiefs are beatable for sure. Keeping in mind that the absence of Tre White is huge when considering Hill has the world-class speed and Kelce is the best TE in the game. But, the Chiefs' Offensive Line is bit of a mess and their Defense has weaknesses the Bills can exploit. As always, it will be about applying pressure to Mahomes, much like the Steelers did to START the game, but the Steelers didn't have the Corners to stay with their receivers for the entire game. If the Bills Corners and Safeties can help provide enough coverage, the line will apply the pressure between Oliver, Phillips and the guys like Hughes and Rousseau putting some pressure off the ends. Additionally, this game will be really important for Milano and Edmunds. Can they take away the middle crossers enough to throw the timing off and can they tackle Kelce tough to keep him from getting those YAC. The Bills Offense should produce, but before we all assume it will be a track meet, we should temper expectations a bit. The Bills should score, but Singletary will likely be more important to the Offense except for Josh Allen. Of course the O-line comes in to play, but they always do. If Motor can run, the Bills will score often. If it becomes less balanced than what we've seen over the last several weeks, it could be a re-run of last year's AFC title game. After all is said and done, if Bills want to be the bullies of the AFC, they have to beat the Chiefs.
  10. It is a loooooong time between the end of the season and September to me because I love the game so much, so for me I welcome the extra game. But, I also want a dome where it doesn't matter that it's January. Keep that in mind when the games go to 18 games, and they will.
  11. Win the Division, bring on whatever happens next. Bills play at home for at least the first game. Win that one, worry about the next one after that. I see the benefits to so many of these scenarios. Priority one: win division, then take what's next. That said, I can see the logic in wanting a home game of course, but I can also say that going to a warmer city or one with a dome behooves the Offense greatly. Either way, saddle up - and let's ride.
  12. Thank you Virgil for this poll, it feels relevant and succinct. Something I can't say for many of the posts on this board (including my own...at least the succinct part). I've been a dome advocate for years so I'm hoping it's a dome and as for location, I'm good with either but since many seem to really like Orchard Park, and more importantly the ownership seem to feel that's best, I'm down for it.
  13. I am not a fan of the Washington Football Team name, glad to see the team getting an actual name. I'll be interested to see what they've come up with, but I think it's time to turn the page. Good luck to them in the future! (Except for when they play the Bills).
  14. 1. Fair point, my bad 2. You don't know the Bills aren't building a dome and when you say it like a fact the tone of a statement which is in fact an opinion, only serves to be aloof rather than engaging. Don't be condescending, there's no need. We're all fans and sharing our perspectives. 3. I continued to watch the snow fall throughout the game, and precipitation covered the turf throughout the game. Go watch and come back to correct your error. 4. Nobody said the Defense didn't help and I think I actually said Motor running with tenacity helped him and the team. But Josh put the team on his back...again, go watch the game again and take your initial impressions out of it. You cannot say he did enough to salvage his day, when the Falcons did everything to take the passing game away, and also used that game plan to do exactly that by getting those 3 INTs and then say Josh didn't carry the team with his play. But, your opinion is just as valid as any others, so we'll just agree to disagree.
  15. It's a tired and old discussion at this point, but does anyone truly believe that Josh WOULDN'T benefit from a dome? Is it that hard to see that in a controlled environment his abilities are on full display as opposed to overcoming the wind, precipitation, and at times the cold? People argue that Rodgers and others play in cold, and yes, they do. But they rarely play in the full on wind, snow, and rain that Buffalo plays in at least a three times per year at home. Oh, and that means at 8 games, that's roughly 40% of their home games. In December 2014, when the Pack came to Buffalo, Rodgers went 17-42 for 185 yards, and 2 INTs - with no TDs. That's the last time the Pack came to Buffalo. No, one game doesn't provide context, but it does show that weather can impact any player - no matter how great they are. Josh's worst games tend to come in challenging weather...that's not an indictment against him nor is it an excuse. But to think that weather doesn't impact gameplay would be myopic in my opinion and a refusal to accept reality. Put Josh in a dome for 8 or 9 games, plus Miami, plus the southern and / or dome teams he plays, I think you'd see a drastic jump in the numbers. I truly do believe a 5,000 yard 50 total TD season is very possible in a dome for Josh. But I also think this team needs to continue to evolve and become less QB dependent given the current situation. To see more of Motor doing what he's done the last few weeks, getting Breida out of the backfield as a receiver and speed guy on the edges and mixing in Moss for some runs as well does an Offense good! Do I believe Josh is an MVP contender? Yes, but those that vote would need to watch the entire game and not just his 2 INTs. Because while those were disheartening, he also showed why he is an MVP candidate. He took the team on his back, and willed them to a win when the weather refused to help. The Offensive Line got better with run blocking and Motor showed his tenacity, which is exactly what he needs to keep his game at this productive level. But let's not get it twisted, Josh carried the team and the MVP is short for Most VALUABLE Player to his team in the league....Josh is that, to his credit and to the team's detriment.
  16. For getting my booster, I received a $100 gift card for which I redeemed at Fanatics website for a red Buffalo Bills hoodie...awesome!
  17. Admittedly, I've been a Pro-Dome fan for close to 20 years...and before anyone asks, I was in junior high and high school during the Bills' great Super Bowl runs and recall the Raiders game, the Greatest Comeback game, and others that were played in the coldest of weather. But in the contemporary NFL and the way the game has changed visually as well, I just cannot believe in or support the logic to spend all of the money on a stadium and for it NOT to be a dome in Buffalo / Orchard Park, NY. I certainly would understand in other places and I certainly understand if the league was still trying to find their financial footing, but this league is only going to continue to grow and grow as it has over the last 20 years. If the Bills, and / or the county and state, are going to invest over a billion dollars for a stadium, then adding a few hundred million to that receipt for a dome that can withstand the weather and make it a pro-offense place to play in the NFL, only makes sense IMHO. We can debate all day, but again IMO that's like saying, "I'll pay the $100k for the Mercedes SUV, but I REFUSE to pay for extra sound system and Benz navigation!" Both add to the bottom line but by the time you've spent all that money, doesn't it make sense to just go the whole ride? Lastly, I honestly don't believe anyone can make the argument that Josh and the Bills would play 'worse' football in a dome, whereas I think we can argue that we've seen some of Josh's worst games in the elements and conditions. Should he be able to play in Buffalo weather, or any weather for that matter? Yes, of course. But can we really argue that the team wouldn't benefit from a controlled environment and that's nothing to say what Bass could accomplish in a dome and that's just another example to say the kicking game would benefit as well, not to suggest it's a reason to build a dome vs. an open air stadium.
  18. What I liked about Antonio Williams last year was that in his limited role, albeit against a highly ranked Miami Defense, he ran with violence. He ran with tenacity the other RBs in our group don't truly possess. There are times it seems like Motor has this in him, but not consistently and while I applaud the effort - Williams just seems to have it naturally. Honestly, not so much the speed or overall talent, but the style of running reminds me of Adrian Peterson or Chris Ivory in terms of just the passion to hit people while running. I'd sit Motor, put Breida for speed, Moss for balance and Williams to be the lead back against Tampa. But, that's just because I think there's a gem waiting to be revealed in Tone Williams.
  19. Build a dome. Yup, I said as I've been saying it for years. The Bills, much to the delight of many posters on this board including me, have finally built a 21st Century NFL Offense, but our weather doesn't support it for the long-term. Build a dome and let the Greatest Show on Turf 2.0 be revealed. It's that simple. Going back two years, the Bills' best Offensive out-puts are generally in either good weather or domes. Build a dome, bring home the Lombardi.
  20. What I know, as a fan and watching all of these teams play Cap Olympics, is that none of us know anything....it's going up, that's great. It barely held steady this year and Beane completed several extensions and signings of their own players, so I'm guessing he knows what he's doing....all that said, I trust in Beane. I do NOT understand the people who've so quickly forgotten what it was like to not have a true G.M. or an incompetent one. Beane won AP's Executive of the Year last year, and for good reason. It irks me that folks want instant results, with instant value, and instant change. All of those things take time and Beane showed in his third full year last year he's doing it right and it well. As for this year, it's too early to tell. He admittedly took two projects with tremendous upside in their talent in the first two rounds and we've seen flashes from both, but it's no secret it will take time to see it consistently. Patience and consistency are not "sexy" or worth getting all of the talking heads spitting their hot takes, but it does build good, winning football programs. Let's take a breath, recognize what Bills fans have in Beane and appreciate the work he and his scouts are doing while also acknowledging development takes some time.
  21. There are a number of unknown issues that might or might not eventually come to the surface, but this is an example of why sometimes as fans we "assume" we know more than we do. Harry's been the consummate professional since he's been in Buffalo and faced adversity along the way without whining or complaining or finger pointing. He's simple put his head down and committed to working harder to be better or overcome that adversity. I want him to continue to be a Buffalo Bill at the right price and believe he's an example of a late-bloomer type of player. I think his best football, if he can stay healthy, is still ahead of him. That's not to say I think he'll be an All-Pro, but I do think he could be a solid contributor on the line, the way we've seen him play the last few games.
  22. Some of the games left: NE twice, Tampa Bay, Falcons, Panthers and Jets. Except for Bucs, no truly elite WRs Buffalo would need to lock down to finish the season. Of course, playoffs will be different (assuming the Bills make the playoffs and no I’m not being pessimistic, just nothing guaranteed) but at that point who knows what happens. Somewhat ironically, the run game now plays an even bigger role for the Bills to be able to continue to win.
  23. Not entirely....yes, the Colts are a stadium team but it was built to be a run first Offense and we know that a run first Offense does much better than a passing, finesse type Offense like the Bills currently deploy. I said this on Twitter yesterday, both the lack of physicality AND the weather having an impact on their Offense can be true. The Bills' lines on both Offense and Defese were obviously man-handled and that should be a focal point next Off-season but to say the weather didn't impact an Offense that is pass heavy and pass often, would also be myopic IMHO. The two co-exist and it became compounded with the weather.
  24. The issue with this argument is that Beane traded a 1st Round pick for Stefan Diggs, so he obviously didn't "over value" the future and understood that Diggs on a well-balanced contract was giving Josh a true #1 WR to throw to but forfeited a 1st round pick to do it....basically, making your argument for you: the value of Diggs in the present outweighed the value of a future 1st round pick that "might" turn into a Diggs.
