Houston should take them for MORE.........Denver absolutely FLEECED Seattle for Watson. And the fact that all the teams that seem to be listed as destinations for Watson are in the NFC should only drive up the price.
 -
It's tough to not be intrigued by the potential of Watson coming off a combine workout where he looked fast, agile and smooth and even had huge hands, which I think is a plus in Buffalo and with a big armed QB. Just have images in my mind of plenty of linear, very fast types who never evolved into anything but 1 trick ponies or less. On the hoof..........Marquez Valdes-Scantling is almost exactly the same as Christian Watson..........and MVS is nothing but an inconsistent deep threat.

Yeah it's not out of the question that he could have a bounce back season and get his career as an early down base DE back on track to the point where he is worth modest pay days again..........it happens........in 2021 former flop CB Rasul Douglas went from veteran extended PS to having a tremendous year for Green Bay that will get him paid. But he should have no value right now..........and maybe he thinks that he can only get his head right by getting back in the Buffalo environment/culture. When he was drafted I said his floor was Courtney Upshaw and his ceiling was Melvin Ingram........an underwhelming range for a first rounder........and he's played much closer to his floor, which is in part due to being a slow twitch athlete but more due to just being hard to motivate and keep focused, IMO. He wants to get back to Buffalo but two hours after every home game he was in the airport with a big bag of Popeye's catching a flight to Charlotte so he could go play Wooderson on campus at Clemson.

Shaq is an extended practice squad player at this point...........they'd be foolish to bring him in with any guarantees or for more than the league minimum.
 -
No........there isn't any need to run thru the ball carrier there.......the pass is late and behind the RB........an instinctive defender knows they can make a play on the ball there. I know you are one of Edmunds' biggest apologists but he gets so many passes thrown in front of him where the RB is hung out to dry and never has the presence of mind to even punch the ball out while he's tackling a ball carrier who has had all of his momentum stopped by a late throw.......he's just a slow processor in a league where quick minds make the plays on the football in traffic.

Yeah but the $39M cap hit for Ryan Tannehill this year.........
 -
That clip is the perfect example of what Tremaine lacks..........he would just run straight at Marshawn Lynch on that play as the ball falls to the turf behind him.
 -
As I've said..........I would love that Edmunds for Sweat trade......... but Washington loses that cap exchange by over $10M as Sweat is just in year 4 of his deal...........and though Sweat has underwhelmed he is still a high ceiling pass rusher so he's probably worth more than a 2 time Pro Bowl LB who isn't nearly as good on tape as that sounds. Edmunds to Houston for Brandin Cooks is probably more realistic........two expiring contracts, approx same value. But maybe someone out there really values Edmunds' upside more than I think the tape indicates they should.
 -
Reminder..........Gabe Davis has put an average of 574 yards in his first two seasons..........Metcalf has averaged over 1,000 yards per year in his 3. Actually producing in volume matters. I'm not predicting that Gabe is going to fail..........but to put it in perspective...........he hasn't actually had a more impressive regular season than 2018 Robert Foster yet. Foster put up 541 yards at a clip of 20 yards per reception and a catch rate over 60%............and he has practically vanished since. Sometimes small sample sizes don't translate..........and that's all we've gotten from Gabe so far.........reportedly in part because of nagging ankle and foot injuries in 2020-2021.

Imagine an instinctive LB in the middle of this defense
 -
The obvious answer is Diggs goes to the slot. That doesn't mean it's a solution that Diggs would find satisfactory..........but he'd instantly be the league's best slot receiver.

Walter Football Mock with the Hot Take on our MLB
BADOLBILZ replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah the 0 pressures on 76 blitzes in 2020 was definitely less than impressive blitz work. -
	Get in line
 -
Why do you think? He has a $16.5M cap hit. He's at an age where a defensive player is taking a fraction of the value their statistics would indicate they deserve if they were 26.
 -
I hope so...........the Bills are STILL paying for that brutal 2018 free agent group he grossly overpaid............worst free agent class in Bills history. They could use the 70M+ in cap space they wasted on those clowns.
 -
The Bills selected in the non-playoff team portion of round 1 for 16 straight seasons before the chance to select Patrick Mahomes fell in their lap in round 1..........and when they finally made the playoffs in 2017 exactly ZERO of the drought era first round picks were on the active roster in Jacksonville for that game. Basically the Doncos got a franchise QB for about 2 years worth of early picks while the Bills spent 16 years in the ***** desert. It's unconscionable that Seattle would trade a 34 year old elite franchise QB for that little return.
 -
If they hadn't picked up Edmunds' 5th year option Beane would be saying Tremaine earned the right to go into free agency.........and likely glad he dodged that bullet..........and Klein would just be getting a pay cut.
 -
Christian Kirk had 9.5 yards per target last season..........Stefon Diggs had 7.5 yards per target...........players tend to get more targets and production because they get open. Gronk was far better than Knox last season.........he's in a much different class as a blocker(elite) and he averaged 14.6 yards per catch.........and has averaged 15 yards per catch for HIS CAREER. This is why he is maybe the greatest TE of all time. Dawson Knox is good and seems to be ascending but they have nothing behind him.
 -
Gronk is the only player you mentioned who played at an elite level last year. He's the only star in a very deep TE free agent class. Even if he wasn't a native WNY'er, one of the NFL's biggest celebrities and a long time rival he would be a bigger splash to the average Bills fan than those 3.
 -
He's an unrestricted free agent. Yes if super cheap and better options fall thru.
 -
Yeah he had a higher ypc and more TD's..........but Ertz had higher catch and yardage numbers. Gronk blew BOTH Ertz and Knox out of the water with his 14.6 ypc and near 70 yards per game receiving............that's why Gronk is the only "star" TE in this free agent market.
 -
He actually played really well after the trade to Arizona.........about 5 catches and 50 yards per game.........that would project to the best receiving season for a Bills TE in team history. Lotta' talented TE's on the market but Gronk would be the best option, IMO.

2nd round busts are a tradition for the Bills. The "OK, NOW we can fill a need here....and then get BPA's later" drafting in round 2 has been palpable............IMO it's a function of spending months fixating on the 1st round pick..........then the emotions after the result are often followed by a loss of focus. It's a common problem in situations where business deals are layered...........which is what the draft really is..........a series of business acquisitions..........and it's proven to be a problem from one Bills GM to the next. Beane is not immune..........the Bills imbedded with Beane saying "we need a tackle" while scrambling up the board for Cody Ford was a jarring example of losing discipline and focus on the process. The Bills track record with second round picks when they don't have a 1st rounder is MUCH better........Thurman Thomas, Sam Cowart, Roscoe Parrish, Ronald Darby and now AJ Epenesa.............that's 60% guys who played Pro Bowl or better type ball for the Bills and the jury is still out on Epenesa. And I think that generally reflects a more measured approach made possible from "the event" being less emotionally charged at the top.
