  1. 1) I tend to be on the side of "Sweeney is un-rosterable"...........he isn't good at anything. 2) Agree no on Rudolph..........but also no on Engram.........I think they represent little but wasted cap dollars if acquired. Gronk is the clear choice if the opportunity comes up.
  2. In fairness............I also needed to see Cole Beasley being an idiot online while rolling up $100K in protocol fines and missing the biggest game of the regular season for his beliefs while producing a laughably low 8.5 yard per catch. If you come to camp with Andy Isabella as your top option at slot receiver..........you're hurtin'.
  3. AND...........said capable TE needs to not be a huge drop-off from WR3 if you plan to run 12 personnel.........which you want to be able to do A LOT to address protection issues that plagued the team for much of the year after defenses adapted to the Bills 2020 spread offensive attack. Josh Allen running 10 times per game did the trick when push came to shove late in the season............but that isn't a smart plan for a 20-21 game season.
  4. Watching Cody Ford suck last season and Cole Beasley be a douche literally caused me to think.........."I wonder if Arizona would take Ford for Andy Isabella". And I think they would..........but OL's around the league are really thin and veterans are valued...........see Bobby Hart somehow still getting work. So I don't think Isabella even has enough value to be worth Cody Ford.
  5. Hate to say it dude...........but you may need to find another hopeless cause to root for...........because the Bills are playing to win. Some people are afraid to win. The Patriots didn't win a single SB without significant help from former Buffalo Bills..........including the first one.........lead onto the field in celebration by #32 Antowain Smith, Buffalo Bills 1997 #1 pick. Count me as one who would love to flip that script.
  6. Aww sh*t @ScottLaw.........I think you struck a nerve. Parents of "frustrating" adult children often ask them "when are you going to grow up?" when they are really saying "when are you going to stop making such dumb decisions?". Get the goat, cheese. That will work out well when it eats your vinyl siding and scratches the sh*t out of your prius. 😉
  7. I've done this before..........and don't need to do it for every dick and Harry that bobs up...........since you know better, why don't YOU list the top 15 ILB/MLB's.............and make note that if you don't know the players........it will be pretty obvious if you are using pro-sports-reference to figure out what position they play.........because they are often listed WRONG. Edmunds got passed by a number of players this year..........DeVondre Campbell, Nick Bolton, Logan Wilson and Denzell Perryman just to name a few you've probably never heard of.......3 of those guys are in the AFC.........where the pickin's at the devalued position have been slim for years which has greatly skewed perception of Edmunds to his benefit.........when he wasn't in the class of the NFC studs at the position. When the Bills picked up his 5th year option last spring I suspect they weren't expecting him to regress this season, which he did.
  8. I think they've adjusted their expectations............if he was everything they thought he would be when they used a first and second round pick to get him.........he would have been extended for top dollar a year ago.
  9. Yep, average MLB that is out there every down. Nobody fails to understand this.........what you fail to understand apparently is that the NFL as a whole plays base nickel now. A LOT of teams play 2 LB sets where both LB's are on the field all the time. If anything, the fact that that he plays so many snaps only magnifies just how few plays he makes.
  10. The Bills defense is very good...........they played the 2nd worst schedule of offenses in the league in 2021 though...........so there was likely some padding of statistics.......as there was in 2018-2019...........when their yardage numbers were skewed by allowing the league's best starting field position to offenses in 2018 and a laughable schedule of QB's played in 2019. I thought they were better than their numbers late in 2020 when Milano and Edmunds got healthy...........but they played a dynamic schedule of offenses and that's the main reason they dropped off dramatically from the statistical standpoint. But a defense can be very good with an average MLB..........they aren't the same issue.
  11. It's reached the point where you have to quote 3rd hand info from Damond Talbot of all people. I will say this though..........Edmunds is definitely a target of opposing offenses..........because he is a player who teams have learned is easily manipulated out of position. And for a team like Baltimore that tries to run everything between the tackles and throw the ball inside the numbers.........softening the middle of the defense is job 1 every week.
  12. He was elite in 2018........the first year of his contract. He was Devin Singletary 2021 level in 2019. He's been garbage in 2020-2021. So year 5 of his contract he's returning to 2018 level of play?
  13. The Packers have turned over their roster MANY times since they last won the SB............it's not as simple as saying they've messed up their current roster. They chose to keep a bad HC in McCarthy around and not address the offensive skill needs in round 1 or free agency for a decade prior to the Lafleur hiring...........so for most of his prime Rodgers was pulling most of the weight by himself.............in recent years they've not been able to add depth around Rodgers and Adams, all while continuing the prior trend of not drafting players to help the offense in round 1.
  14. RB's who can make big plays ARE a dime a dozen..............if you have players and a scheme that makes it easy for them to make them. Case in point........the 2015 Bills..........Karlos and Gillislee tore it up in helping the Bills lead the entire NFL in big plays on offense.......and they both AVERAGED 5.5 yards per carry. So enough with the hyperbole. A better RB would be nice but the last thing you want is to throw the ball less...........Josh Allen should average 8 yards per pass attempt, the greatest RB ever would only run for 6....................and the more you invest or believe in a RB the more likely that you give away offense by handing it to a RB. Motor is a very productive RB..........consistently high ypc in his career......only 5 RB's who carried the ball as many times as him averaged more ypc than him in 2021.........and only 5 RB's ran for more 20+ yard gains than him in 2021. And as far as Barkley..........even if he gets as healthy as he can at this point.......he may still suck. There is certainly no guarantee he will return to his 2018 form 5 years later.
  15. Probably not much........RB is a position where you gotta' be able to carry the load to get paid...........he only had 46 carries TOTAL counting regular season and 3 playoff games. And he was active for 16 total games in 2021. Probably a minimum deal with incentives.
  16. Motor is better than Allgeier.
  17. Meh........just sign Fournette then. People act like RB's are hard to find or something.
  18. He was fun to watch when tuning into BYU games............apparently he had some fumble issues that I didn't see in the games where I caught him............but regardless I don't think there are any RB's I'd spend a pick in the top 3 rounds on in this draft. Bills don't need to over-draft runnin' bax...........they need to find a late round or UDFA RB and sign a veteran RB or two to add to the mix. Jerrick McKinnon and James White are a couple guys who might be dirt cheap that could be nice additions.
  19. Per wikipedia he is from Brooklyn and he and his brothers founded "Nobody Beats the Wiz" electronics store. Sold his share before that store tanked in the 90's and made a killing in Washington DC area real estate for a couple decades. Invested HEAVILY in Buffalo area real estate in recent years.
  20. "messing up the roster" are your words..........so don't put them in quotes like I said that. They've just never invested heavily into Rodgers side of the ball in the draft............and while LaFleur has brought a better offense to Green Bay......... IMO Rodgers "prime" was during the McCarthy era, not his late 30's. The Packers don't have a very deep or balanced offense..........Rodgers and Adams have carried them to big records playing in a feeble division..........but in the playoffs that hasn't proven to be enough against top defenses. I do think Rodgers has looked tired at the end of the past two seasons.........but the fact remains he has deserved those regular season MVP's.
  21. Exactly. And the much maligned Bills RB's averaged 4.3 yards per carry last season. Barkley averaged an ANEMIC 3.7 yards per carry last season. It would be an utterly stupid trade to take on Barkley and that absurd contract............and since it's guaranteed Barkley has no motivation to adjust the deal. It would take the Giants giving the Bills Barkley AND their second round pick to take him off their hands at $7M, IMO................it's a broken player with a bad contract that plays a devalued position. Makes no sense to trade for Barkley..........just big-name jibber-jabber.
  22. I wouldn't be happy with $8M/year long term for Edmunds based on what Edmunds has done so far.........you can't afford to pay everyone on defense and the line AT LEAST should draw at those who aren't playmakers. $8M might not seem like much but they are already basically at the point where every starter aside from Dane Jackson is on a 1st round or veteran contract..........you need to be able to fill a few positions on defense with $1M or less kinda' contracts. Translation.........."some people say he sucks.........I wouldn't say THAT" 😉
  23. The same goes for modest additions though.............so let's say they sign a RB for $1.5M in free agency..........provided they have 51 players under contract at the time the cap hit would only be $1.5M minus salary #51........which if it were $700K in your example, would mean that the signing would only increase the Bills cap figure by $800K not $1.5M.
  24. Yeah the hyperbole about cost/benefit analysis..........."if we were more aggressive.........we would lose 10 players later"............that's right up there with 2018 McDermott saying "would we like to score 50 every game? Of course" when media were asking him why their offense was the worst the league had seen thru half the season since the merger. McDermott got on board with doing what it takes to score LOTS of points in 2020............hopefully, despite that rhetoric above, Beane realizes he needs to push the envelope a bit more this offseason.
  25. Naturally not a lot to take away from what they said...........but I actually had somebody argue with me on TSW a couple weeks ago that Beane didn't trade Watkins and Darby in 2017 to accumulate assets to trade up for a QB in 2018...........whoever you were...........Beane re-iterated that was why they made those trades in his PC today. Not sure why he was getting tossed softballs like "tell us again about getting Josh Allen" but whatever.
