He was fun to watch when tuning into BYU games............apparently he had some fumble issues that I didn't see in the games where I caught him............but regardless I don't think there are any RB's I'd spend a pick in the top 3 rounds on in this draft. Bills don't need to over-draft runnin' bax...........they need to find a late round or UDFA RB and sign a veteran RB or two to add to the mix. Jerrick McKinnon and James White are a couple guys who might be dirt cheap that could be nice additions.

Per wikipedia he is from Brooklyn and he and his brothers founded "Nobody Beats the Wiz" electronics store. Sold his share before that store tanked in the 90's and made a killing in Washington DC area real estate for a couple decades. Invested HEAVILY in Buffalo area real estate in recent years.

"messing up the roster" are your words..........so don't put them in quotes like I said that. They've just never invested heavily into Rodgers side of the ball in the draft............and while LaFleur has brought a better offense to Green Bay......... IMO Rodgers "prime" was during the McCarthy era, not his late 30's. The Packers don't have a very deep or balanced offense..........Rodgers and Adams have carried them to big records playing in a feeble division..........but in the playoffs that hasn't proven to be enough against top defenses. I do think Rodgers has looked tired at the end of the past two seasons.........but the fact remains he has deserved those regular season MVP's.

Exactly. And the much maligned Bills RB's averaged 4.3 yards per carry last season. Barkley averaged an ANEMIC 3.7 yards per carry last season. It would be an utterly stupid trade to take on Barkley and that absurd contract............and since it's guaranteed Barkley has no motivation to adjust the deal. It would take the Giants giving the Bills Barkley AND their second round pick to take him off their hands at $7M, IMO................it's a broken player with a bad contract that plays a devalued position. Makes no sense to trade for Barkley..........just big-name jibber-jabber.

I wouldn't be happy with $8M/year long term for Edmunds based on what Edmunds has done so far.........you can't afford to pay everyone on defense and the line AT LEAST should draw at those who aren't playmakers. $8M might not seem like much but they are already basically at the point where every starter aside from Dane Jackson is on a 1st round or veteran contract..........you need to be able to fill a few positions on defense with $1M or less kinda' contracts. Translation.........."some people say he sucks.........I wouldn't say THAT" 😉

The same goes for modest additions though.............so let's say they sign a RB for $1.5M in free agency..........provided they have 51 players under contract at the time the cap hit would only be $1.5M minus salary #51........which if it were $700K in your example, would mean that the signing would only increase the Bills cap figure by $800K not $1.5M.

Yeah the hyperbole about cost/benefit analysis..........."if we were more aggressive.........we would lose 10 players later"............that's right up there with 2018 McDermott saying "would we like to score 50 every game? Of course" when media were asking him why their offense was the worst the league had seen thru half the season since the merger. McDermott got on board with doing what it takes to score LOTS of points in 2020............hopefully, despite that rhetoric above, Beane realizes he needs to push the envelope a bit more this offseason.

Naturally not a lot to take away from what they said...........but I actually had somebody argue with me on TSW a couple weeks ago that Beane didn't trade Watkins and Darby in 2017 to accumulate assets to trade up for a QB in 2018...........whoever you were...........Beane re-iterated that was why they made those trades in his PC today. Not sure why he was getting tossed softballs like "tell us again about getting Josh Allen" but whatever.

Making the offense better at what Josh Allen does from the pocket..........that should be the focus.........and Beane seems to know that based on his comments about OL being priority #1. In theory, 12 personnel would be an extension of improving the OL while, with a player like Gronk, still being able to spread the field in the passing game. If they can get better push in the run game, that can only help the play action game, which Allen is among the best in the league at executing. Because of the finish of the season, fans forget that the struggles at the LOS lead to a huge drop in average pass attempt production for Allen.........from 7.9 in 2020 to 6.8 in 2021..........which isn't something we should have ever seen again after his breakout 2020. But 125+ combined pressures and sacks will do that. Running Allen 10 times per game to cover up for blocking issues worked well down the stretch but isn't a 20 game season solution.

These takes are hilarious. Please quit your Bills fandom if a local kid who has gone on to become the greatest football player ever produced by the area..........a HOF'er and legit "best of all time at his position" discussion player...........comes back to play for the Bills.

Why is this a "newsflash"? Gronk put up 802 yards at 14.6 yards per reception and 6 TD in 2021..........those are huge numbers would be all-time kinda' numbers for a Bills TE. If they release Cole Beasley, who put up a punchless 692 yards on 8.5 ypr and 1 TD..............they save $6.1M. Roll a couple million of Gronk's $7M into a voidable 2023(like Sanders and Addison this year) and it's a net savings on this years cap to get a player who gives you MUCH more explosiveness in the passing game and an elite blocker in the run game..........and TE is a position where they have ZERO depth.

This is what the employees of the Bills whose responsibilities are field/facility management have been told. Apparently they almost put a heating system underneath the turf in the last renovation.

This is a problem with drafting 9 defensive players and a replacement QB with their last 10 #1 picks.............they have done well to add Davante Adams and Aaron Jones to their roster at much lower draft slots than the players they've turned out to be...............but the drop-off to the rest of their playmakers is huge because they've not invested in that side of the ball. We've seen over and over again that you can transform a bad defense in free agency..........but it's hard to maintain a good defense for a long period of time regardless of the investment. So why use your franchise building blocks all on defense? When you have a franchise QB..........you CAN build long term success on that side of the ball. Packers tried to cheat the system. Almost worked the past couple of seasons, but maybe if they had been QB-centric in his prime they wouldn't be at odds with Rodgers now............and they'd have a deep enough offense that they could move on from Adams. Bills need to take note of how Green Bay has messed up being blessed with the best QB in the conference for the past decade.

I think my $4.1M number is accurate but regardless, they can "declare" him a June 1 cut when they release him in March..........which they would want to do to eradicate his roster and workout bonuses. They can't technically use the portion of cap space that is designated "June 1" funds until June 1............but that matters little. They can borrow cap space to make additions in 2021 against next year/future years with a re-structure of a current contract.........say Tre White just for example............and then roll the June 1 savings from Lotulelei into 2022 if they don't need it. It's just accounting at that point. What isn't accounting is the actual, currently unguaranteed dollars they would have to pay Lotulelei to play in 2021.........which is about $4M...........a lot for a presumed backup DT1T with his recent history.

I'd say that they should watch Logan Wilson defend the middle of the field for Cinci against Mahomes and KC in the AFCCG. Edmunds has around a 110 combined passer rating against the past two years...........he's not some secret force against the pass.

Cutting him this offseason before his bonuses kicks in saves $4.1M in cap space over the next 2 seasons...........which is all room that they can use to add talent this year with creative accounting. Also saves ownership nearly $4M in real money that they wouldn't have to pay Lotulelei. It's not as simple as only being able to save $1.5M.............it's overall cap space and actual dollars that are both around $4M.

For everyone who thinks it would be hard to replace him.......just a reminder that Preston Brown lead the NFL in tackles playing MLB in this defense in 2017.
