  1. well, if you are dousing a steak with ketchup...you may as well just be eating a burger. or a steak-um. a steak is generally a very flavorful cut of meat, and to just slather it with something that drowns out the flavor, then you are essentially wasting it.
  2. absolutely correct. if they can have Anderson taking Allen through everything on the sideline during the game, that would be a big help. if he is giving him helpful pointers during practices, that is also a big help. the seasoned vet in the twilight of his career is what they had wanted for Allen all along (in my opinion). which is why i think they were making a play for McCown. most of the best coaches are the guys that never had great ability. they were the guys that had to work a little harder to achieve a lot less.
  3. i think the whole "sit Allen and let him learn" ship sailed the moment he became the full time starter. you either sit him, let him learn, and ease him in...or you throw him in the deep end and see if he can swim. you cannot waffle back and forth on this. if he's healthy, he plays.
  4. IF, and i mean IF...Josh Allen ends up finishing the year strong, and then they stock the offensive cupboards in the off season, then this team might just have a chance to make a bit of noise. the defense is pretty solid. and if the offense can actually put some points up on teams, then this will be a whole different ball game. literally.
  5. they will never use the word "tank", but they have gotten rid of big talent and big contracts, spent modestly, and left themselves intentionally undermanned. call it whatever you want, but they are intentionally horrible. i do not think that they have done this for the sake of the high draft position, but they have definitely taken this to the ground floor.
  6. in all fairness...we would be excited about any of the other young draft picks on the offensive side of the ball getting some game time. if there were any.
  7. i also say yes. because to be a successful qb in this league, you must spray that ball all over the field. you have to be able to process the information incredibly quick, believe in yourself, and fire that ball in an instant!
  8. this is generally where i am. however, i really do not want to see an rb picked early in the draft, especially before wr, o line, te, o line, and wr are addressed.
  9. yeah, but he was boasting about the number one defense. didn't he even go as far as to mock the previous year's defense because they were only ranked #4? dude was a bit of a blow hard.
  10. rex was never part of a rebuild. he was, however, the guy in charge as the wheels were falling off the wagon. and "his side" of the ball, with help from his brother, was getting progressively worse all the time.
  11. while qb may not be what we need, i think a bunch of us (myself included) are still hoping that the hype machine will make somebody want to jump up and give us a bunch of picks for our spot to draft one.
  12. if today's loss nabs us a higher draft position, and our gm hits on those picks and brings in some real, blue chip, stud talent...then yes. yes it did bring us closer to a winning culture. unless allen turns out to be a bum. then we, just like mcbeane, are totally screwed.
  13. finding new and exciting ways to **** the bed! i think the game was decided when the bears scored their second td. possibly when they scored their first.
  14. absolutely right. there were plenty of people lining up with torches and pitchforks towards the end of fitz's bills career. the negative nicknames, the contract, the mediocrity, the lack of arm strength, the wedding ring, harvard...there were plenty of fans and media that were ready to riot. and then there was buddy nix and him basically saying that they needed to move on at all costs. his time was at an end here. but i will always love me some Fitz!
  15. agreed that this is the process. the disturbingly, excruciatingly painful, and at times shamefully embarrassing...process. i was at the game today. the stadium was overrun with chicago fans. Bills fans were all some form of dejected. this is your process in all its glory. hopefully this is the bottom, and next year's portion of the process looks a hell of a lot better. but god bless those poor bastards that have paid good, hard earned money to watch that absolute dumpster fire of an offensive football team in the cold, wet, and wind to come.
  16. while this is true, i can't help but have this overwhelming, and possibly a bit delusional, dislike for this guy. it seems he has been at the head of many, many a horrible call against the Bills. and his explanations go on for quite a while and only further seem to make me wonder what the heck he is watching. Hochuli just seems like a ****.
  17. i am just thankful that this time around we have no Boger's or Hochuli's. i get angry when i see either of these people on my television.
  18. i think that the process was to strip it down, then build it back up again with a solid foundation. and i think it was going to be a three year build, at least, that;s the way it reads to me. problem is, year one was actually successful, and year two is absolutely painful. this was the year they retooled the defense, and we have to wait for next year to see how the reassemble the offensive side of the ball. if they had gone in reverse order, it might have been a lot more fun.
  19. i went with "not a big fan" but seeing as though he is on my team, and i will root for him...i probably should have gone with supporter.
  20. nothing short of fantastic. i love that these guys, and their wives, have a great sense of humor.
