  1. i like this plan (but i am not crazy about the OT in the first round, i want someone to catch the damn ball and run like hell with it). throw some cash at the line and get a few savvy vets in there that can steady the ship, add some young talent that can be mentored by the vets, and use the top of the draft for an influx of young, talented, offensive skill position players to catch balls from our young qb.
  2. not that it was awful...but how old is that song and how washed up has that band become? why was this even a thing? and there were like twelve people in a crowd in front of the band. it was just really, really weird.
  3. you have a great point there. and i think it ties in with the topic of mcbeane and how well you trust in them, their abilities and philosophies, and the process in general. i like the make up of the men, but i just wish that they sounded a bit more 2018 when talking of the game and the way it is played. i think a very pertinent discussion is maybe not so much allen vs the field in qb choices, but mcdermott vs mcvey. but again...it is easy to pine over what other teams have when we are bottoming out (i believe by choice). let's see what happens next year after these guys have had one more off season to assemble their guys. do two six packs constitute a twelve step program? because that is what i have been using.
  4. i know that this is the very definition of beating a dead horse, but i think this is going to sting until we have our qb and everbody knows it. hindsight and what ifs have got us by the short n curlies. if allen turns out to be the guy, and the offense gets turned around next year, then i think this all goes away. if not, then it will just sting for a while longer.
  5. perhaps if he thought there were a playoff run or a chance to get a ring, he might try a little harder. or if he went somewhere he could play against Carolina. or, maybe he is just very moody and inconsistent in general and there is no scenario where he efforts to live up to his potential.
  6. i would be very surprised to get anything of value for him. a 6th/7th rd pick might be possible if some team believed he would be a good complimentary player for a playoff push. and i could absolutely see a motivated KB filling that role for a team in hopes of salvaging his reputation and getting a paycheck for next year.
  7. i think this means that the Bills have lured Stevie Johnson out of retirement!
  8. really, all you need is a little luck. having said that, i could see us getting freight trained by 50.
  9. just like the Pats? an average qb, a bunch of no names on offense, and a stellar defense?
  10. i have been, am now, and will always be a Bills fan. right now it is very frustrating. not knowing if we have the right coach, the right qb, the right philosophy, if our team knows about this new wacky thing called the forward pass...yeah, i self medicate with sarcasm.
  11. while it would be great to shake things up a bit right now, i think that this is the team going forward for the year. in my opinion, the process dictates that this year you take your medicine and next year you acquire as much talent, through the draft and spending in FA, as you can.
  12. i don't know as if he is disingenuous, but i firmly believe he is big on discression. i also think that he would sacrifice himself before he throws one of his own under the bus. he knows the score, i just don't know how bad he thinks it is.
  13. i am just trying to put myself in the shoes of the coach and am using his logic/words. i don't always agree with it, i just try to understand it. i am not defending his moves at all. i probably would have done things a bit differently, but there is a reason why i am not employed by an NFL team.
  14. shouldn't a good coach know that scoring points is what wins games? and maybe that this game is now centered around the forward pass...and people that catch those passes? i think we are on the same side here.
  15. yeah, i see the absolute irony (hypocracy?) in this. gotta give one more offseason before we break out the torches and pitchforks. in the meantime, buy up some stock in the local beer distributors.
  16. what's their record when they score 5 points or less?
  17. if they are in a position to draft one of those studs, i want them to trade down with some old, stodgy GM that is firmly planted in the 1980's and get a few extra picks to supplement our anemic offense. we need offensive skill players as well as linemen. in the draft and in free agency we need to pick up offensive talent early and often!
  18. i am going to say that the "what they want to do" is about scheme fit, attitude, and work ethic. we all know the big name guys they got rid of and the reasons behind the moves. they are looking for guys that are all in on the team aspect.
  19. yes they did. they got rid of talented players that did not fit what they wanted to do. they brought in guys that they thought would fit their culture rebuild. and they drafted players they want to go forward with. i have no problem with any of this, even the horrible record and damn near unwatchable football. i just wish i had faith in the vision of their football team going forward. this offense is horrendous, and i think they need to dedicate at least 75% of their resources to that side of the ball in the offseason. i just have this horrible feeling that the coach's vision is about running the ball and playing tough defense.
  20. i'm gonna go with who the heck cares? this defense could have held the Colts to a touchdown and lost. this offense is horrendous. HORRENDOUS! if i ever here the words "run and stop the run" or "defense wins championships" i want that man fired! i want his kids fired! i want his kids' kids fired!!!!
  21. Calgon...take me away. now. anywhere. wtf did i get myself into?!?!
