Did Peterman get pulled too early

he had better not be named starter, barring injury, ever again. EVER. AGAIN! -
Vontae Davis Among Bills' Inactives Today

the middle of the field seems to be an area peterman feels comfortable throwing to. he gets plenty of zip on those balls that are going forward, so i like this idea. -
Vontae Davis Among Bills' Inactives Today

i am also hoping to see the TE'S get involved in the game plan today. big targets that can move! -
yeah, i liked o'leary as well. but i think the potential and athletic ability of these other TE's made him expendable. i am sad to see him go, but ultimately happy that they are trying to upgrade the position. i have been wanting the Bills to try to use the TE more, and also to try to upgrade the position to insulate the passing game.

hopefully they will be able to execute the passing game well enough to loosen up the defense for the run game. balance is always what they want to achieve. i think it will ultimately come down to how well peterman is running the offense. because we have all seen what shady can do with a little bit of breathing room, and ivory and murphy should definitely be able to compliment that if the other parts of the offense are working well enough.

Lee is apparently the best blocker of our TE group. this may well be of importance because of the state of the offensive line.
-
i think you also need a little bit of luck. unless you are a completely dominant team in every phase of the game, luck definitely plays a part.

i don't know if i would call it trent edwards-esque. maybe more fitz-like. edwards was just a neverending series of dump offs to the running backs and tight ends at or behind the line of scrimmage. fitz was a quick passing qb that had a lot more determination than ability. say what you want about fitz, the guy did not turtle and did not throw walk out of bounds on 4th and the season five yards short of the sticks.

What I haven’t seen from Peterman
swnybillsfan replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah, i get it. i will just never trash a guy for doing his best and being a good guy. if he were a raging d-bag, that's another story. his ceiling very well may be a serviceable backup. but we need one of those too. -

or...he is a good kid with physical limitations that has been working his @$$ off to be the best he can be and try to win this job with all the odds against him. -

very true. but the Ralph (still can't call it New Era) will not be filled with casual fans on Sundays. and these are the games i worry about. -

this is exactly what i fear. i want to see allen as early as possible, but i also want to see nate get his fair shake. i really fear it could get ugly for peterman. quickly. -
Grading the Pegulas Thus Far
swnybillsfan replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i voted for "B" in both cases. it seems they went for splash over substance, and oldschool over new to begin in both organizations. but then they seemed to go a bit younger, with a more focused direction in both cases, so there is hope. -

yeah, but everyone knows him as the guy that threw five picks in a half. historically bad. i'm sure he wants that taste out of his mouth. and i am also pretty sure that he will have to move mountains in order to silence some of his harsher critics. not to mention, there will be a large contingent of fans screaming for the rookie with every drive not resulting in a td. that is some serious pressure. -
hope this dog just immediately fits in with the family. we have been fostering dogs for a little over a year now, and when these pups find their furever homes, it is such a wonderful feeling! dogs are truly amazing.

i think this is very true. the first time i had a "craft beer", it was an ipa. i had no idea what an ipa was. instantly, i wondered what kind of illness the people drinking it were suffering from. as i grew older, and tried more beers, i found out what all the fuss was about. i like a good ipa in the summertime, then when it comes to fall and winter i find myself really enjoying the stouts and porters. and there are many different ales that are a lot of fun to try. to each their own, i guess.

Ego or Redemption - The Peterman Story
swnybillsfan replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i agree with this. and just because peterman had an all time awful performance does not make it the wrong move. taylor and the offense were throwing up all over themselves for a few games prior to that game. something needed to change, and what we saw from peterman in the preseason seemed to be just what was missing from taylor's game. we know that coach likes peterman's character and work ethic, and we know that he likes the way he approaches the position. what we don't know, is how that will translate to the field. but we will find out in just a few days. -
Ego or Redemption - The Peterman Story
swnybillsfan replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think peterman probably plays the position the way coach wants his qb to play it. quick decisions, and well placed balls (hitting a guy with timing and rhythm) i think is what they want. i know that peterman has physical limitations, but allen does not. maybe nate was seen as a better mentor/backup than mccarron. -
Less concerned with O-line than most...
swnybillsfan replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and that can work for a while, but eventually you will have to throw the ball down the field or else everything else will eventually be nullified. this is why we have to hope that allen can put it all together. if he does, then the ol will look better, rb's will break off some bigger runs, and the receivers will all look much better than they are. again...see tom brady.
