  1. i just don't think he is the type of person they want in the locker room as the "veteran wr".
  2. they may just end up going with the hopes that somebody on the roster overachieves and turns into a decent wr. or that they have enough diversity in the types of wrs on the roster that they will be able to take advantage situationally. it is also possible they will wait to see who gets cut from the 53 man rosters across the league, and see who they can pilfer from other teams' practice squads.
  3. i seem to remember hearing that he was a very good route runner. and i think he is fast enough. if he is at all quick, shifty, and fast into and out of his breaks, he could very well find a place on this team.
  4. patriots monday night...i always billieve that this time will be different! we will take back our dvision and put the mighty brady in his place! also, for non football reasons...the Bears game. the stepson and i do not always see eye to eye, and he is a bears fan. i get to take him (and a few of my Bills fan friends) to the game and have a buffalo tailgate experience, followed by a (hopefully) very entertaining football game featuring two up and coming teams led by young stud QBs.
  5. wide right...i hid and cried. music city miracle...didn't cry, i was furious. when Mr. Wilson passed...i was listening to the coverage on WGR, listening to the fans give their Ralph Wilson stories. i cried a lot that day. and the next few days. when i thought of what the man did for us, not just the Bills, but what he did for the people that met him. then the money he left for Detroit and for Buffalo. it was surreal the way i felt heartbroken and blessed that he was the patriarch of our Buffalo Bills. when mr. Pegula bought the team...the relief and joy i felt absolutely brought me to tears. watching Kyle Williams with his boys in the locker room when the Bills got into the playoffs with that Cincinnati throw and catch...well, show me a man that didn't shed a tear at that moment and i will show you a cold hearted SOB!
  6. it certainly seems like they have added talent to this defense, and i am assuming they are all "process guys". if that is the case, then surely this defense should continue to grow. by the time we hit "midseason form" i am thinking that these waves of high motor, high effort guys should hopefully be crashing against, and through, opposing offensive lines. and hopefully this opportunistic secondary can take advantage, much like they did last year.
  7. i think Edmunds could absolutely have a few rookie moments this year. but i also think he will flash the athletic and playmaking abilities that made McBeane jump up in the draft to take him.
  8. yeah, the first overall pick next year. and we can sell it to the highest bidder and stockpile a crap ton of talent! brilliant!
  9. yes, but even horribly run teams have been thrown a bone occasionally. the Bills have been so bad that they were never even accidentally decent.
  10. i remember seeing this movie a long, long time ago. it was not a great movie, but i have definitely seen much worse. and it kinda held a soft spot simply because it was the Bills. and the qb almost seemed loosely based (very loosely) on flutie. i remember wanting to like it much more than i actually did.
  11. this year definitely seemed like we got a lot of calls and quite a few bounces to go our way. yes, but there is always a bit of luck involved. and for the past 17 years, i have felt like this team was friggin' cursed.
  12. i really like this kid a lot. if he is a process guy, the i am absolutely trusting the process!
  13. i think rex was his own worst enemy. i loved the fact that he could make fun of himself and have a good time. but his football beliefs were all rooted in what the game used to be, and they were a bit too absolute. you have to be able to change and adapt, or the game will pass you by. and the macho man act wore a bit thin as well. funny how that happens when you are not winning.
  14. i think this game could really be one of those "litmus test" games. by week 4, the Pack should be hitting a rhythm, and it will be a big test for our defense. and who the heck knows who will be the quarterback for the Bills in week 4? anyway, i am hoping for an exciting game.
  15. i think alexander's value is more as a mentor/vet leader/coach on the field/process guy. he is a special teamer, and and a guy who has always had to put the work in and adapt. he is also a high character, high energy guy that is great in the locker room, could be a great influence for the younger guys, and is also great with the media. even though he has not been a Bill for very long, i really love having this guy on my team. and even with his diminishing physical skills, i think he can still have a role and be productive on this team.
  16. let's hope they are who you thought they were! and we can go ahead and crown their @$$es!
  17. i would like to see that. i know he hasn't been here for that long, but i love having this guy on my team. and he is great on the radio too. very engaging, very funny. i like your plan.
  18. it seems like they have a great transition happening. while i am going to miss kyle williams when he decides to retire, phillips seems like the perfect guy to step up in that role. and zo is a great mentor to the kids in the lb core, as well as the defense in general. these guys are the epitome of veteran leadership. i think this is the process.
  19. at the very least, it will allow them time to see if this guy can be the next man up, or if they need to keep looking. better to find out sooner rather than later. it can really be an inconvenience to wait until you absolutely need a qb to get one.
  20. the exciting thing to me is not exclusively the physical ability of edmunds, but the addition of star, phillips, and murphy. not to mention the db's that were picked up and/or drafted. this defense did pretty good with modest talent last year. this year, i think it is primed to take another step, and edmunds should absolutely shine!
  21. all aboard! i've got my ticket punched, drink in hand and anxious to start this ride!
