  1. all i will say on the matter (for now because i have to go to work) is that we all sat through an absolute embarrassment. a massacre. a swirly that had a gigantic floater in the bowl! and i am pretty sure many of us drank a beverage or nine. then, the slaughter ended. the drinking continued. and we all marched on over to TBD to vent in our own way. Huzzah!
  2. if this happened...the NFL world would be lit on fire, turned upside down, and scattered to oblivion. kyper would have to be locked away, gruden would be filming a "wtf happened" qb show in his basement, jerry sullivan would be running naked through the streets screaming something incoherent yet insanely negative...and TBD would go collectively insane! but i do love me some fitz!
  3. i agree with this. also, if you start peterman in the home opener and the game goes south like it did in baltamore, it is going to get really ugly at the Ralph. embarrassingly ugly. ugliness of biblical proportions.
  4. indeed. we are at the ground floor of the rebuild. i am merely looking at the possibility of going down to the basement.
  5. i agree. it seems as though they are all bridge players, with possible upside. also, i do expect this team to get a bit better as time goes on. give the new players time to gel and the youngsters time to get a bit of experience. but i really think that last year they overachieved, this year will be absolutely excruciating at times, and next year will be the "hit the ground running" portion of the rebuild.
  6. just pointing out that a dog taking a dump can outrun both of them at a dead sprint.
  7. aren't they kinda similar? statuesque qb's with great arms that can rip you apart if you give them time?
  8. well, this will be on the coaches to figure out a way to git r done. if they send the house, then you need to find the open man. if they sit back, you need to take what they give. if you are completely inept, then you will be looking for employment elsewhere.
  9. next season we will have an epic amount of cap space opening up, along with some pretty high draft picks. incorporate this with our young talent getting more experience, and the ability to get out of a couple more contracts (hughes, clay?) and just watch what happens. we have gone through the tear down, and are in the rebuild.
  10. mccoy seems to be a seasoned vet that has learned to pick his spots. murphy is a guy that is trying to prove his worth and will be trying to get every inch possible. shady is probably conserving his energy for when he can see a bit of daylight.
  11. just connect on a few passes downfield and watch what happens.
  12. on one hand, you would never get value for him. on the other hand, a case could be made to trade everyone for anything you can get!
  13. we've seen him catch. we've seen him drop balls. the truth is probably that he is a decent receiver that is capable of great moments and slumps.
  14. depends on what you are expecting. Benjamin is not a burner. he is not a route runner exraordinaire. he is not a one handed grabbing highlight reel guy. but, he is a large man with one hell of a wingspan. he has a size advantage on every db in the game and should be able to shake loose of most lb's on the field. elite, no. good, yes. great? well...that remains to be seen but depends on many, many circumstances.
  15. i would say i saw signs of encouragement. there were some nice runs, nice throws, and he stood in there against some big hits. i liked the way he handled himself. i think it is really on the coaches to put some polish on this kid. he seems like he wants to win, he truly wants to be great. scheme it up, coach him up, and rip it up!
  16. i hear ya. but just wait for the kyper/mcshay hype train to roll through town and sing the glories of this year's qb crop. it's just too bad gruden won't be around to polish the knobs of these young gentlemen and tell everyone who will listen how great they are.
  17. we kinda knew that going in. look at the dead cap situation. look at the young, RAW talent. this year is about taking lumps and gaining experience. next year will be about amassing more talent and throwing money at the holes.
  18. we could definitely use a serious infusion of talent on that side of the ball.
  19. is it wrong for me to be praying that somebody pays us a stupid price to get up there to draft somebody. i just keep entertaining visions of adding multiple impact players in next year's draft to go along with all the high quality free agents we will be adding (a guy can dream, right?)
  20. tackle? guard? wr? de? it would be nice if he could play any of these positions. or maybe center? i seem to remember cringing as groy got tossed around a bit today.
  21. i know. truly, i know. i just want to have an offense that looks like a modern day nfl offense. i want to see Allen slinging the ball all over the field to a group of skilled players and put up all kinds of points. i long for the days of the barn burners. but i do understand that an elite pass rusher is also a wonderful thing to have. especially after watching joe freaking flacco have all day to rip us apart.
  22. this is EXACTLY where i am. if we are going to suffer and suck this year, i am going to want to be in prime position to haul in a king's ransom for a qb in next year's' draft.
  23. i will be absolutely ecstatic for every game that fitz wins. absolutely love this guy. always have, always will. my man crush on this guy is absurd. having said that, i know full well his limitations, tendencies, and why we parted ways with him. but dammit, i still love me some fitzy!
  24. i was prepared for some pain, but this was bad. i took it in stride, for the most part. but one thing became painfully clear...whether he's ready or not, Allen has to be our qb. if this game was in Buffalo, fans would have rushed the field with torches and pitch forks!
