Dumb defensive backfield middle. Dumb linebackers, dumb safeties -

HS team executes brilliant underhand thrown fake punt
paulmm3 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cool but I don't know how hard this would be to stop. The underhand toss I see here basically goes into a crowd of 2 punt team players and 4 defenders. Good for the offense a punt team player comes down with it of course but generally throwing a ball into a 2 on 4 on 4th down is not a plus play. -
Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread

Hamlin has not looked good when I have seen him in game action. Hard for me to believe he's our best option, or a better option than signing Micah Hyde out of retirement. Hope Damar got better this summer -
49ers first round draft pick Ricky Pearsall shot in San Francisco
paulmm3 replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yikes San Francisco. Example number one of how bad politicians and bad policies can ruin a city. Glad it seems like Pearsall is okay- 172 replies

Now that the 53 is set, predict the Bills win total
paulmm3 replied to Cash's topic in The Stadium Wall
10 wins if we have 1 or fewer games officiated by Shawn Hochuli. 9 wins if we have 2 or more games officiated by Shawn Hochuli.. We have Josh and there's a lot to like about the rest of our roster. -
NFL feeding itself to the sharks (Private Equity)
paulmm3 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Meh. I worked in private equity for a year. It's literally just people with money thinking about how to turn it into more money. Don't see much wrong with that -
The single biggest thing that will influence the Bills' chances this year no one is talking about - how many Bills games will Shawn Hochuli officiate?
-
Honestly? No state income tax plus decent roster right now plus area that loves football...I'd want to be drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. As much as I hate the Dallas Cowboys. Vegas Raiders and the Florida teams would also be on my list. Tampa Bay might be my second choice.

I'm an emergency physician. Have seen some torn biceps before and this did not look like one to me, based on the general appearance of his left upper arm and the motions I saw him do on video after the injury. Could be a partial tear of the biceps tendon rather than a complete tear. Could still be a complete tear - you never know - but didn't look like one from the few videos I saw

Just quit the season. That performance was pathetic
paulmm3 replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wonder if the 0-16 2008 Detroit Lions got lulled into thinking they didn't suck by going 4-0 in preseason that year -
Shinzo Abe in Japan, Robert Fico in Slovakia, the leader of the VOX party in Spain, that AfD regional leader whose name I can't remember, and now Trump. The attack on Rand Paul last year, the attempt on Kavanaugh, the Steve Scalise shooting a couple years ago. We have a serious problem with left wing violent extremism.

Attempted Assassination on President Trump (x2)
paulmm3 replied to Walking Tall's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
There is an epidemic of left wing violence we need to talk about. This is what, the fourth or fifth right of center leader who has had an assassination attempt the last 12 months? Trump, the leader of Spain's right wing party, the leader of Slovenia, the AfD higher up, and was there someone in the Netherlands too? -
Should the Bills trust that Tyler Bass will return to form?
paulmm3 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bass has never been great, and the contract Beane gave him is a crime. But the contract is structured so that it's incredibly unlikely he gets cut in the next 12 months. There would be like 5M of dead cap on a freaking kicker. If he has another bad season he's obviously gone and I think the contract is easier to cut after this year. But we may be stuck with him for this season. In general I think Beane's done a good job and is a good GM but the Bass contract is one of the worst things he's done. -
Who was your all-time favorite player that was NOT on the Bills?

The Giants oline last year was historically bad
paulmm3 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Giants OL last year was one of the worst OL groups I've ever seen. I felt bad for Daniel Jones. Remember vividly watching Giants Cowboys season opener and it was like 4 guys through the turnstiles on top of Daniel Jones within a second of snapping the ball every play -
Good to see him succeed. I'll always be rooting for him - had a good friend in medical school almost kicked out over false sexual assault allegations (I was with him on the night in question). If the charges don't near ruin your life, the legal fees will.

Bass struggling at minicamp (and now at training camp)
paulmm3 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, I just finished writing about how I'd give Beane an "A" grade on the job he's done, but the Bass signing was baffling. Bass has never been an especially good kicker by any objective metric and now we're tied to him by virtue of an overpaid, un-cuttable contract. Unless you have Justin Tucker there's no reason to contractually tie yourself to a kicker for multiple years. At least if it's a multi-year deal, structure it so there's not so much dead money if they're cut -
Brandon Beane’s Tenure by Letter Grade—Poll is Up!
paulmm3 replied to NoHuddleKelly12's topic in The Stadium Wall
In 20 years of following the Bills and Sabres, only one GM has built a team that's competitive. And for that reason Beane gets an A from me. Josh is a big part of it, but we've had excellent defenses as well. And a decent OL, which the Bills haven't had in ages. -
I read the allegations - "he gave me $100 bills and asked me to dance for them", "he tried to kiss me", "he brushed up against me too close". Not great, but nothing too crazy either.

Xavier Worthy injured during 1st practice as a Chief
paulmm3 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
People worry about Xavier Worthy and it's possible he'll kill us, but heaps of speed players don't work out for whatever reason. Look at the list of the top 10 fastest 40 yard times by a WR at the combine ever excluding Xavier Worthy. John Ross Rondel Menendez Jerome Mathis Marquise Goodwin Henry Ruggs JJ Nelson Jacoby Ford Tyquan Thornton Yamon Figurs Darrius Heyward-Bey All the WRs on that list had mediocre to nonexistent careers. -
The more I read in terms of pre-draft scouting on Keon Coleman, the more I like the pick. He's not Kelvin Benjamin. Kelvin Benjamin had a 10th percentile vertical jump. Keon Coleman had a 90th percentile vertical jump. He's a good athlete. In terms of the concerns regarding separation, I have to trust professional NFL scouts more than people giving their impressions of highlight reels on the internet. He may not be the world's most polished route runner or separator, but even taking that into account most scouts had him ranked right about where we picked him.
