People need to relax with this 9th pick stuff. No way in hell did we trade our 9th pick for Brown. And whoever shared that fake AB twitter account link should be banned imo... But man what an exciting pickup! Gotta see what the compensation is but I think a 2nd round pick wouldve gotten it done. Perhaps a combo of swapping 1sts at the most. Boom Beane gettin er done!

Article for those obsessing about Metcalf

Yep i pretty much agree with all you said too. OL in FA should be a priority & like everyone else i'd like to bring in 1 or 2 more wr's & if they can stretch the field with Foster I'd be all for it, but i think we can get help in FA & later in the draft with that. But specifically with DK I just don't want to take a chance with him at #9 for everything everyones already stated. Lets wait for him to become a Bill before we start making excuses for why he hasnt performed up to his potential you know? He's not even drafted yet & we're already doing it lol. I'd be excited to see TJ Hockenson here at #9 as I think he'd be more valuable to the offense as a whole than a speedy guy who can stretch the field who has had injury issues & questionable productivity. We cant miss on this pick because we have so many holes to fill. Drafting is always a crap shoot no doubt but I'd prefer we take our chances at 9 on someone with less questions. -

Yep for sure. Foster has been a Godsend just when we needed him the most. Imagine what our offense wouldve looked like last year without him. He's an easy player to root for too, given his path to get here. Hoping year 2 is even better for him, we surely need it to -

Wouldn't deep threat guys be easier to find than say a more complete WR who can run all the routes? We found Foster & he looked pretty good as our deep threat guy last year. For slot receiver I think we're fine as it is now or there are other guys out there in free agency we can pick up. I think we could use a WR who can run all the routes & perhaps be our #1 guy, than just another slot receiver who can run fast up the field. Especially given its the 9th overall pick. I just think we need more value out of that pick than just that. DK is a pick the Raiders would make, falling in love with his speed & physical traits over his game film & over everything else. I don't think Allen needs another deep threat, he needs someone that can run all the routes & catch the ball & get 1st downs & bail him out on plays & keep the offense moving. Just my opinion of course -

Combine tests aside, what scares me about DK is his lack of production at Ole Miss. Looking at his stats, you'd think theres no way in hell a player with those numbers would ever be considered a top 10 pick. And then you factor in his commitment to pro football versus becoming a doctor, along with his agility & route running questions & for the #9 pick I think you just have to say no. We need to absolutely hit on that pick. We can't afford to take a chance with anybody imo. For me DK is a solid no at this point. -
He's a mole for feeding inside info about the Bills to the Pats or the other way around? Because given how much we've been dominated by the Pats, I can't see why the Pats would need a mole here. Idk much about him as he's new to coaching, but at this point I say bring in anyone & everyone to help out our line. We're so bad, only way is up from here.

Is it inconceivable for the Bills to trade for OBJ?
brianthomas replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man u have a tendency to read too much into what people say. I never said Beane wouldve drafted him or missed out on drafting him, obviously he wasnt around then. I simply said OBJ doesnt fit the kind of guys we go after & if he was ever gonna be a Bill, it wouldve happened by drafting him & not this. Maybe you need to take a break from message boards so you dont feel the need to jump over everyone elses posts all the time. You'll probably feel less stressed out lol -
Is it inconceivable for the Bills to trade for OBJ?
brianthomas replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OBJ doesnt come across as a McBeane process guy. If we wanted OBJ here we shouldve drafted him instead of Watkins. Now his head is so big I cant see him wanting to play for our Bills. Patriots or any big market team is where he'll go if anywhere i'm guessing -
if youre gonna pick from one of those chinese sites, like DHgate, just pick a seller with a real high rating. Also paying from a gift card or paypal would be optimal, so you don't have to worry about any credit card fraud. I don't say that to scare you away as i myself have bought a couple jerseys from them, but never hurts to be careful, just food for thought

What do you expect from Trent Murphy in 2019?
brianthomas replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not everyone, I never liked it. I didnt like the Ivory signing or Star signing either. All these bloated contracts for what amount to average players boggles the mind while you simultaneously try to undo those same types of contracts. Although Ivory's isn't that bloated, but you can definitely get what he brings for much cheaper. Perhaps some people were just hopeful given what Murphy did the year before in Washington & how he'd be lined up opposite Hughes. Perhaps others were just happy we signed someone. Gotta also remember that just about everyone before the season here was thinking playoffs last year as well. While not considering all the dead cap we ate & how unrealistic doing both would be. Such is the life of a Bills fan, glass is always half full when you Billieve until you smash it at the wall later. However I will trust the process thru this next season. I still think we're in a better position now than we have been in a long time. And i hope Trent has a great season for sure -
What do you expect from Trent Murphy in 2019?
brianthomas replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I expect him to play 40% of the defensive snaps when he's healthy enough to do so. I'd say the over under on games missed this year due to injury is 5. Other than that I dont expect much. He's had 4 seasons in the league, with his high point being 9 sacks with Washington, other than that he's had 2.5, 3.5 & 4 with the Bills last season. So like i said, i don't expect much outta him for the Bills. For Trent i expect he'll cash in another 8.5 mil & live a pretty comfortable life that the most of us can only dream about haha. -
What do you want to see this offseason: Free Agency
brianthomas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In past threads i've seen some suggest that we sign Kareem Hunt on a one year prove it deal. Well you can scratch that off your list. Cleveland just signed him today. I see all these other teams making moves, while our Bills & Sabres do nothing. Patience is a virtue they say, well then nobody is as virtuous as us Bills fans -
Cuts to add an additional 6 Million
brianthomas replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm all in on everything you said. If they can get back some money by cutting Murphy I'd be all about that too. I get why they signed him because we needed help rushing the passer but you're just never gonna get a great return on your investment with him. Dudes only really had 1 good season & he's always injured & even when he does play, he's only in there for 40% of the plays. Maybe I'm old fashioned but 8.5 mil is a helluva lotta money for a guy like that. If ur cool with paying 9 mil per year, pay Clowney, pay Demarcus Lawrence. Players who have shown in the past they can consistently make plays. Theyre not perfect but have more upside than Murphy -

I've bit my tongue thru all this thread but saying we should keep Clay is just ridiculous. Clay is better than anyone in FA? Dude Jason Croom is better & he's already on our roster. Jared Cooks is out there too. At this point anybody would be an improvement, especially if you value saving cap space -
Which non-Bills draft pick stung the most?
brianthomas replied to Buffalo86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gronk for sure. Watching him tear us up every Sunday for a decade has sucked. If we had drafted him at the very least he wouldnt have been so dominant versus us. Moving up for Watkins & passing up ODB or lets face it, Khalil Mack or anyone else. I wanted us to get Roethlisberger back in the day after seeing how he dominated at Miami OH. But the past couple years its been Mahomes. I know its become a meme of sorts around here, but needing a QB badly & passing up on one with the talent of this kid, just to watch him light it up for Andy too many cheesesteaks Reid's Chiefs will forever burn a hole in my heart. The only cure for which will be some Pepto Allen. I don't need Allen to be the leagues MVP but just don't suck it up out there & put up some wins & most of all, make me Billieve. If Allen works out all is forgiven -
An entertaining video. But posting a video of Brady on a Buffalo Bills message board? Not cool man, not cool.... unless your from Baaaahston

Tyrod might get too much crap here idk. Or perhaps his play dictated that. If you take away the extremes on both sides, his best games, his worst, what you get is still pretty lousy as a whole. Tyrod had as it turns out, pretty decent WR's here at times. You mean receivers like Robert Woods & Sammy Watkins or Marquise Goodwin? When they had a different QB throwing to them they began putting up better numbers. Something akin to if Clay went to NE, of course his knee would have to hold up & he'd have to catch the ball. But perhaps it was something else holding Tyrod back here, so how did he do in Cleveland with all that talent on their offense? He played 3 games, completed 41 of his 84 attempts (48.8 percent) for 462 yards and two touchdowns against two interceptions & was sacked 13 times for 81 lost yards in the first three games. Averaging that out, 462/3, he threw for 154 yards a game, with .7 td's. Numbers all of us here can relate to since that pretty much sums up what we remember. Case in point look at what happened when Baker Mayfield took over the team, it was like night & day. So maybe, just maybe Tyrod gets too much crap, or maybe he is just what he is. A below average passer with above average running ability. Tyrod's a great guy from all accounts & he's a guy you'd like to see succeed. But all one can go by is what a player makes of his opportunities. Who knows if he'll ever get another one again. But like Taylor its past the time for Clay to go. Sorry for the long post, i just didnt expect to see a Tyrod post today haha. I had hoped we moved on from him because its a torturous subject, speaking of it is like self mutilation, it hurts

My Hypothetical Julio Jones Trade....Yes or No?
brianthomas replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beane says we're gonna be calculated with our free agency moves. This calculation has too high a cost. I don't see Beane making this move. I don't see him being willing to give up significant draft capital to bring Jones here & frankly I wouldn't do it either. Julio might be the big flashy signing some would like to have but I don't think its the best thing to do. Not at his age & term, nor his cost, both salary wise & what we'd have to give up to get him. I love me some Special K, but on this trade i gotta say no -
I'd be down to make a move like this had it not been for our signing of Trent Murphy. We already have an underperforming high priced DE on our team. I didnt like that pick up when we made it & today I hate it even more. But because of that move it pretty much makes potential signings of Clowney or Lawrence impossible from a salary cap standpoint. Sure technically you may be able to do it, but investing that much more money into that one area isn't necessarily wise imo. If only we could go back & stop that from happening haha. Close to $9 million for a guy who plays 40% of the snaps, and thats when he's healthy enuff to be on the field. The way i see it, the only thing we can do is hope this year he turns it around & we draft another edge rusher who can compete for starting time this year

Most Realistic 3 Round Mock from Draft Wire
brianthomas replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
lol that mock draft has New England picking Tyree Jackson in the 2nd round? While i'd be happy with the picks the BIlls made in this hypothetical list, having the Pats drafting Tyree in the 2nd doesnt give me much faith into whoever made this list. Do people really expect him to get drafted so high? From what I've seen he'd be lucky to get drafted in the 4th round. Or could this be Gronk 2.0 where he goes on to have a HOF career & punishes the Bills every Sunday as revenge for us not drafting him? I think its a safer bet to say u cant put much stock in mock drafts haha, but they are fun to read since its all we have for a few months -
Gerald McCoy: Cap casualty
brianthomas replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say yes if we weren't already on the hooks with Star Lotulelei & Trent Murphy. Those are 2 examples of pricing yourself out of an impact player by overpaying under achievers. And yes I get the whole argument of Star occupies 2 blockers & yadayadayada. But how can you have a dline where it eats up 17% of your cap & where 1 of those guys will hardly be on the field due to historically being injured? I'd love to have him here & would instantly replace Star with McCoy, but with the total cost & with all the other areas we need to improve, I think we simply need to build thru the draft in this case. -
he doesnt hate Buffalo, he hates the Bills for not drafting him. And he uses that hate against the Bills as motivation to make them pay for not drafting him. I'm paraphrasing of course, but those are his words. I suppose if I were in the same situation, as a pro athlete I would feel the same. What else is he supposed to feel? Secretly aim to sabotage the team that drafted you in order to help ur home city win?

Can't wait to check out tomorrows version of this thread. And then the next one a day or so later. And then again & again & again lol I bet by draft time we'll have perhaps 100 of these threads... which is what u would expect & would want. I just think its funny how theres a new one every couple days asking the same question. "Do you think we'll be active in Free Agency?" Yes of course, we have 90 Million in cap space after purging our roster of dead cap this past season... Not only was that The Plan but we said so yesterday haha Gonna be a long offseason Draft day can't get here soon enough because its gonna be exciting. For me the Draft is one of the greatest days in sports.
