  1. I just think with this o line that having Peterman back there is a mistake. He's not as mobile as Josh so if (when) he gets under pressure, i'm afraid he'll have to rush his throws & throw more INT's or eat sacks. Nate has proved he can be accurate when he throws on rhythm & with anticipation. But when the line breaks down, I haven't seen him have much success. There's no guarantee Josh can do well in that scenario either. But he's looked extremely poised when the pocket collapses & he's shown he can escape pressure with his legs, all while looking downfield at the same time. You factor in how its a tough choice between the 2 from how they've both played well & how he's the QB of the future & to me i think Allen is the easy choice.
  2. For sure, but any talent that is elite would get hired somewhere else than a radio station in Buffalo lol. Its a catch 22 of sorts. Radio isnt what it used to be, Buffalo is a small market, so we end up with the slop, i mean Schopp
  3. Thanks for posting this. I just tweeted to Cris Carter that he should look at the research & not just the TV & i linked the study. I liked Carters play on the football field but off the field man does he say some stupid things. Thanks for giving me the ammo to correct his point.
  4. It's because of that shaky o line where i think Allen gives us the better chance for success. Peterman would get killed out there & the pressure would force him to make bad throws & throw 5 INT's again. Allen looked poised when the line broke down & has the ability to scramble & throw with accuracy on the run. Your reason for picking Nate with the o line is the very reason why picking Nate would be a mistake.
  5. Yes it'd be great if we could get that type of production again, but please just stop with trying to make comparisons to hall of fame players to those who havent even played 1 NFL regular season game yet & where the others claim to fame is throwing 5 INT's in a half of football. Its an unfair comparison to both, no all of the involved. Yesterday it was comparing Marcus Murphy to Thurman Thomas. Please just stop lol Kelly/Reich = Allen/Peterman? NO
  6. truth is that theres just been tons of these negative nancy type posts on this forum this offseason, regardless if the post was meant to be a joke or not. I think most of us, at least for me, have just grown tired of the debbie downer glass half full attitude towards our team's potential. Sure a lot of that has to do with enduring 17 years of the drought. But we all long for the days when we all share in the optimism instead of the familiar pessimistic tones of the past. Thats not to say we can't be critical or realistic about where our teams at, or call something for what it is. But i think we all know that Allen could turn out to be a bust. We already know its possible from living thru EJ Manuel or JP Losman or any of the other countless QB's we've hitched our hopes onto, only to watch them all fail. We get ur joke, but that jokes just not funny anymore haha. Perhaps some of us just have offseason board fatigue & can't wait for the season to begin lol.
  7. Yeah Thurman Thomas literally changed the way running backs were used. His dual threat ability helped pave the way for the likes of Marshall Faulk or even LT. Thurman was the best all purpose back in his era. There's no way you can compare what we've seen from Marcus Murphy to him, no matter how much I like the way Murphy runs. Lets see if this guy can actually make the final roster first before we put him in the same sentence as Thurman Thomas.
  8. Other than him spelling his name wrong Its Reich everyone... Frank Reich
  9. The playoff drought is over, but the drought for not winning a playoff game continues....and lets not even talk about the drought for a SuperBowl Championship... Hopefully that one ends soon!
  10. He was always there to make the tackle, even though it was 5 yards off the line of scrimmage. I liked Preston, seemed like a high character kinda guy & i believe we asked way too much of him. But the only way this Defense would miss Preston now would be for him to be the backup. Our LB corps is faster & T.Edmunds's potential vs Preston is well, heck its not even fair to compare the 2. Skies the limit for Edmunds. Preston? Well he's in Ohio. Best of luck!
  11. Considering all we've seen of Allen thus far is him playing with our 3rd stringers, I think it's too early to say he has accuracy issues. Every QB does to some extent, Allen included, but how many of those inaccurate throws were due to pressure from missed blocking assignments or from a WR slowing down on a route? Allen flat out made some throws I haven't seen completed before, such as that scramble & throw off his back foot to Khari Lee, or that bullet in the endzone to Ray Ray. Before we make judgements on his abilities, lets see more of what he can do with our #1 receivers & OL. But yes, proper coaching on a QB's release, footwork, presnap & post snap reads can all make a positive difference.
  12. from the reports out of camp, Ford has been doing pretty good. But practice is one thing & actual game conditions is another. The line in the 2nd half didn't play up to the level of the 1's & 2's, so maybe that effected Ford's play. If anything, if he doesn't make the team which at this point it looks like a long shot, maybe they sign him to the practice squad. Still too early to tell though where all the chips are gonna lie. These next preseason games are gonna be interesting thats for sure
  13. lol anything would be an upgrade to Tolbert, heck we could argue that you would be. I understand the signing, it makes sense, but for the money, for his age, for what he brings on the field, i think u can get equal production from a younger back at a fraction of the cost. Marcus Murphy showed that last night.
  14. Yeah for sure, no way Ivory gets cut with that contract. I pretty much think we roll with those 3 u mentioned.
  15. If i was questioning the signing from when he was 1st signed then that would be a no
  16. What are the odd's of finding a franchise QB in the 1st place? Not very good. I think with each QB you need to evaluate them individually. Some QB's can improve & some don't
  17. I personally don't see what Ivory brings that Murphy doesnt already do better. Its gonna take some pretty good play from Ivory for me to change my mind on that signing.
  18. NO... we don't need another thread. We've had way too many threads about Tyrod over the years. He's been talked about to death. No more threads on Tyrod... PLEASE!
  19. yeah I don't think you ever draft a RB that high. Theres just too many other options available, better save that draft capital for another position of need.
  20. its a beautiful thing isn't it? And another throw over the middle. We've had more throws over the middle downfield in this game than in all of last year with Tyrod lol
  21. I think as a coach you'd like to get some chemistry going for your starters. Set them up for success & then evaluate what you have down the depth chart
