  1. While you are correct in that more white people have been killed by police, you need to look at the ratios per race. There are roughly 38 Million African Americans, while there are 247 Million Caucasians. The number of African Americans killed by police is a larger percentage of their population than Caucasians. Almost 5 to 1 i believe.
  2. This is so true. Regarding the military many people don't know that starting out in 2015, the Department of Defense started dishing out Millions of Dollars to the NFL for such things as military flyovers, flag unfurlings, emotional color guard ceremonies, enlistment campaigns, and — interestingly enough — national anthem performances. Additionally, according to sources, the NFL’s policy on players standing for the national anthem also changed in 2009, with athletes “encouraged” thereafter to participate. Prior to that, teams were not given any specific instructions on the matter; some chose to remain in the locker room until after opening ceremonies were completed. (It’s unclear whether the policy change was implemented as a direct result of any Defense Department contracts.) In 2015 Jeff Flake & John McCain revealed in a joint oversight report that about $5.4 Million in tax payer dollars had been paid out to 14 NFL teams between 2011 & 2014 to honor service members & patriotic salutes to the military. Money is the real thing they care about. Seems like its always about the money.
  3. As a Bills fan i'd predict a record of 9-7 this year. With the bulk of our wins coming in the 2nd half of the season. Any predictions are problematic of course, as we've had so many changes & haven't seen what anything looks like yet. I surely don't expect us to be 3-13 though. 9-7 might be too high, but 3-13 is way too low imo. Our defense & running game alone should be enough to net us 5 or 6 wins. Throw in a couple games where we steal a few more wins & who knows, maybe we can get to 9-7 again. Since this is all conjecture anyways, how bout WE"RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL BABY! A Bills fan can DREAM, can't we?!?!!! Before we made the playoffs last year, dreaming of better days is all i've had for the past 17 years lol GO BILLS!
  4. The people who were 'mad' about the kneeling will have forgotten all about it in the future. Just like they have in the past with other issues. Only reason it got so much attention was the media exploiting it for their own agenda. As it is now people still say those that were kneeling were disrespecting the flag, which obviously wasn't the case. I didn't see anyone stick their middle finger at the flag or burn it. Nobody said screw the flag or down with America. This is a nation where 70% of Americans thought Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11. Propaganda is a powerful tool & most people don't realize it when they consume it. Anyways the NFL will be fine. What else is there to supplant it?
  5. Years ago I named my Golden Retriever: Molson. Does that mean i'm a bad person too? These comments about McCoys dogs name being some kind of indicator to him being a bad person are ridiculous even for this board lol
  6. I remember that game. Season opener. I had sat 7 rows up from the field... bad idea. With the blistering heat it mustve been 120 where our seats were. Horrible game watching Aaron Brooks & Ricky Williams tear apart our defense. Rob Johnson with his 3 interceptions & 5 sack performance. That season opener was a bad omen for what was about to come. 17 years of playoff drought. I had forgot all about that game until i saw your post. Thanks for reminding me about it (sarcasm) haha
  7. This may not be what the op intended, but for me its wide right & the memories of losing 4 Super Bowls. For years commentators would always reference our Bills shortcomings from time to time whenever an opportunity arose. I'm sure a lot of you guys here maybe know what i'm talking about. I can't really point to a specific time, but we've been reminded of that kick & 4 superbowl losses for far too often in the past & its worn out for sure. Here's to this team changing the narrative & national perception of us being a losing franchise. I hope Poyer, Hyde & Edmunds make Gronk eat that Bills hat he threw on that dancefloor, as we pile up the wins & bring home a title! GO BILLS!
  8. offseasons are SOOO LONNNGGG But no, the WR battle isnt the most significant. QB is by far. Its the most important position. One in which we've been searching for years to get right. One in which we made a bunch of moves to trade up in the draft to select one at #7. The WR battle surely is important & will be interesting to see how it plays out, but the OL battle should be interesting as well, and no less important. I suppose I could've just written: NO GO BILLS!
  9. Done haha... now who do we talk to, to get this really done? For me & anyone i watch the games with, that whistle really is that bad. Its like finger nails on a chalkboard for me. I gotta stop thinking about it otherwise i'm gonna get mad haha
  10. Omg if they replaced that stupid train whistle i'd be ecstatic. The train whistle doesn't even really make that much sense for our team. Its not like were the Buffalo Trains, we're the Buffalo Bills. How about instead of a whistle we hear the sound of hundreds of horses charging across the land? Anything would be better than that embarrassing whistle
  11. Wow, if you're so down on the Bills why even be here lol? Beane hasnt brought in anyone of substance? Do we really need to list all the players? Perhaps doing a google search for our team roster might help, since in the short time he's been here our whole roster has turned over. All while shedding the past bloated contracts & crafting a talented enough roster to here's where i cough... to where we MAKE THE PLAYOFFS! And yeah 50 mil for Star is alot of money, especially when he's not a flashy pass rusher to put up a lot of sacks. But what he will do is occupy the opponents offensive line, allowing our new mobile linebacking crew to go ham. We were spending more on Dareus & dude wasnt even there, so for me its an upgrade. As far as JP or BJH, Josh Allen doesnt appear to be anything like those guys, but from what it sounds like you'll be rooting for him to. I know it was a long drought but so far so good with McBeane & Co. Sure we have a ways to go but i think they've done more positive things than negative. And considering where our franchise has been, that was no easy task. I for one think theres reason to be optimistic. So GO BILLS!
  12. Yep, in my opinion it just goes to show the faith & trust in the process we have from the owners on down. Theyre making decisions with the long term in view, as opposed to what we have been doing the past 20 some odd years. While the success of our Bills in 2018 is up in the air, 2019 & beyond should be pretty freaking exciting with how much cap space we'll have. We can actually go after some prime time free agents. T.O. in 2019 anyone? GO BILLS!
  13. I have a personal story to tell about an incident that occurred during the filming of this flick. I used to work at a restaurant on Elmwood Ave that for the life of me i cant recall the name because its been so long. But there was a fire there years ago & it shut down. It was on the corner of Elmwood & Breckenridge where Cecilia's is now. It was a higher end place, but still moderately priced, great food tho... man old age sucks because its killing me i cant recall the name haha. Anyways one night Christina Ricci & Angelica Huston were dining there. During filming a bunch of people working on the movie would come thru out the week. Long story short, they had been drinking lots of alcohol the whole night. A waiter walks up to their table to check on them & he heard the sound of water spilling. He mentions it to the table, trying to figure out what was going on. Right then Christina shuffles her chair back from the table, looks down to reveal her dress & says: "im Christina Ricci & I dont have to use a bathroom if i dont want to." Yes thats right, she urinated on the floor in the middle of the dining room. The waiter told the manager & obviously all the wait staff were taken back by it, but decided not to make a big scene out of it because she was only 18 years old at the time, and didn't want to get in trouble for serving her. The mess was cleaned up & the actresses & crew got up to leave. While they were leaving, Angelic Huston took this large glass ashtray off the table, put it in her purse where everyone could see what she was doing & loudly proclaimed that this $15 ashtray was the best thing about Buffalo. On top of all of this, they only left a $5 tip to the waiter on a bill that was at least $300 due to all the alcohol they bought. I swear to God & everything Bills related that the above story is 100% true. Crazy story tho, one i've never forgotten, aside from the name of the restaurant haha. Anyways just thought i'd share my personal story of when Buffalo '66 was being filmed here in town. I hope i didn't break any rules by sharing it. GO BILLS!
  14. Having 2 of the top 5 oldest backs in the NFL surely has to be of some concern. If having old rb's was a great thing, other teams would be doing it. When our Buffalo Bills are out on an island, standing apart from the rest of the league, it makes me nervous thats for sure. I hated the signing of Tolbert last year, i hated the Ivory pickup too. I really hope Ivory plays well, even just adequate will do. If all Ivory does is score TD"s from the goal line i'll be happy. Ivory's contract isn't that crazy, but i still would think we couldve found a better player for the price. Either way i'll root for him to succeed & will hope for the best, just like any Bills fan should do. GO BILLS!
  15. pretty cool film man! Thanks for sharing! Micah Hyde is a boss & i'm pretty excited to see what our secondary can do this year.. GO BILLS!
  16. Watkins didn't say anything 'bad' in the article, but his "reasons" for wanting to play in KC versus LA were pretty much just a cover for him going where the money is. And thats fine, get everything you can while you can, but i think thats where the articles writer was coming from. Me personally, when Watkins was here, i was super excited to have him after watching him play at Clemson, but we all know how that turned out here. For Sammys sake, i really hope he has a solid year, otherwise man, talk about paying a ton of money to someone just based on their potential.
  17. this thread is another perfect example of how long the offseason is
  18. yeah all 3 of the voting options are positive. I don't really see the contrast between the choices so i'll choose not to vote since none of the options accurately or even remotely describe my opinion on the site. guess im confused too haha
  19. i wouldnt wear a Poz jersery, or a Watkins jersey for that matter haha. But i do wear my T.O. jersey & Fitzpatrick jersey from time to time. T.O. is well, T.O. & Fitzy not only was the best qb we've had during the drought years (even though thats depressing) but he also was one tough dude. I am hopeful that Allen is the best of the bunch & all of us will be buying his jerseys in the future GO BILLS!
  20. Tolbert last year was facepalm level horrible. This Ivory signing feels the same way imo. Not only is his production meh, but the contract isnt exactly cheap either. Surely we could've rolled with a rookie rb in the draft to fill that spot or a cheaper option in free agency. We now have 2 of the top 5 oldest running backs in the NFL, while also eating up a larger percentage of our cap than other teams. I really hope i'm wrong on Ivory & he has a productive year for our Bills, because we really need him to. LeSean needs him to. But i just don't get what screamed out loud about Ivorys play for our staff to say hey, theres are guy, lets give him $5 million, he makes us a better team... There really wasnt a better option than Chris freakin Ivory? lol This staff has made a lot of good pickups on defense, but on offense i think their track record hasn't been as solid. Fingers crossed it all comes together
  21. Could also say: The Bills QB position has been a debacle for years, i do not know how an NFL team can let it be this bad for so long. We could probably insert a few different positions for areas in which the Bills have sorely needed improvement. You cant fix years worth of issues over night. We finally have a staff that appears to be committed to building this team thru the draft so we can have continued success & be challenging for Superbowls. I'd much rather they roll with what they have now & solidify the WR group next year, then over pay for a retread WR to appease a segment of the fan base short term. Splashy signings sound great, but those are the types of moves/mistakes past teams have made. Moves that were made for the now instead of the future & helped create a debacle that we know here as The Drought. I know its a long offseason but we really have no choice but to trust the process. If our GM sees a WR worth picking up once roster cuts are underway, i'm sure he'll make the move. But I don't see us investing 7-8 Mil in one of these big name wideouts when the goal for this year was to fix our cap situation & continue forward with our rebuild. Jmo of course GO BILLS
  22. What Simms had to say all sounds good to me. He said Allen is supposedly 'wowwing everyone on all sorts of levels'. If thats true then we all are in store for one helluva player. Just like everyone I can't wait for the season to start & to see what this team looks like. One thing that made me facepalm a bit tho with the podcast is the one guy bringing up the stupid tweets again. I've never really considered Allens tweets to be anything really serious, but i do hate how often these media types like to throw it out there, just in the hopes for some controversy or something. Of course after Allen wins his 6th Superbowl they won't even remember those tweets. Anyways, thanks for sharing & GO BILLS!
  23. its a LONG offseason... shoot yesterday we were commenting on a simulated game from Madden between the Browns & our Bills. Tomorrow the thread might be about how our 2 quarterbacks share the same initials but in reverse (AJ & JA) & how thats proof that these qb's are polar opposites of one another. I can't wait for the preseason to start... GO BILLS!
  24. Well this video settles it. Josh Allen will be a better qb than Mayfield. The Bills are better than the Browns (which any Bills fan already knew before) Can we say SuperBowl already just from this simulation? I think we can! GO BILLS!
