  1. That Patriots*** hat is likely a deal breaker for the vast majority of this site.
  2. That is what a lot of people seem to think about it. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet but I am hoping at the very least that it is a decent sci-fi show even if not completely true to the source material.
  3. I'm worried that the NFL would see that as one of the better match-ups for Wild Card weekend and slot it as the MNF playoff game which is the one spot I really don't want Buffalo to be playing in that weekend.
  4. Does digital hoarding count? If so I am a book hoarder several times over. though the space it takes up is only what the small external hard drive occupies on my desk. Well that and I guess wherever my kindle happens to be.
  5. That is a pretty tough question as these kinds of things tend to shift a lot. Forbidden Planet is a great choice. It is an amazing story with pretty decent effects considering it was made in the 50s. 2001 is also great as is most of Kubrick's stuff. You are right in that so much sci-fi misses the mark but I tend to consume most of it regardless. As for my list I'm sure I will be forgetting some stuff but off the top of my head: Aliens - The original is awesome too but the sequel just seemed to really get the suspense/action mix and I recall really being scared for those characters the first time I saw it. Gattaca - Probably not a very well known movie but I thought they really nailed the concepts and the performances are great. The Matrix - This one probably has some recency bias as I just watched it again last week for the first time in a long time but the script and movie really is a masterpiece. I know it has reached the status of being a cliche of sorts since so many films have been derivative of it over the years and it is parodied so much. However forgetting all of that and getting right back to the core of that story, and the ideas it puts forth, you can see how monumental it was at the time. Like I said I'm sure I am missing a lot but lists like this tend to change a lot depending on the day of the week.
  6. Anyone check out Foundation on Apple+? I have read a lot of Asimov short story collections but never any of the source material for this show. I'm a big fan of sci-fi so this is on my radar but still not sure if I should give it the time as reviews seem to be a little mixed on it. I'm curious if anyone has any insight to it on here.
  7. To me this is the play that really sealed the game as a loss. Bills D was getting dominated on the ground and the Colts chewed up tons of clock but the O had been playing pretty well up to that point outside of the two bad penalties that killed the first drive so there was still the feeling that the Bills could win it in a shoot out. After that fumble/score though it was pretty evident that the wind was out of everyone's sails and we were in for a long second half as fans.
  8. Right, even more of a reason to push this matchup down the list. I suppose they want to get the hype machine going for a Lamar vs Fields showdown.
  9. CBS number 1 crew and national game for Chicago/Baltimore over the Bills is an odd choice. I get Chicago is a big city but you'd think an AFC playoff rematch would be a much bigger draw for the majority of the country.
  10. Parents brought me to Prince on the Purple Rain tour at the aud in 1984.
  11. The emotional investment we put into our teams rarely pays off in the long run. Every single year every fan base, except for one, has their season end with disappointment. The question is why with the odds so stacked against do people continue to love/follow their teams? I guess that would be an interesting study for human psychology.

    Dune

With my Iron Maiden avatar I feel compelled to share this in the Dune thread. It is a video to the Maiden song about Dune that someone created using footage from the original film. Thought it was pretty well done so enjoy.
  13. I have been trying to rectify this question in my head as well. There would be zero reason to have any live rounds on a movie set at all. The only thing that might make sense will be that it could end up being similar to what happened to Brandon Lee where they had prop bullets for a gun loading scene and somehow a piece of one of those lodged in the barrel so when the blank round was fired there was actually a projectile forced out that ended up killing him. If it turns out to be an actual round that was loaded into that weapon then I'd think someone will have to be held criminally negligent.

    Dune

The 80s version is a fun movie though a little campy. Never watched the SciFi channel mini series version. The new one is excellent. Feels like a much better adaptation of the book. Only downside is it ended abruptly with a good amount of story left to tell. Like mentioned above it would be nice if it was already in production so we would know it was on the way. I'm not even sure it has been green lit yet so hopefully the box office is decent enough for that to happen.
  15. The United States Grand Prix Formula 1 race is on ABC at 1:30 ET. I assume after the ESPN story that aired before MNF all of Bills Mafia is now a big fan of Daniel Ricciardo and the McLaren team.
  16. The bye and home field is definitely an advantage and I think teams will gladly take any advantage they can get in the playoffs regardless of how large or small it is.
  17. This may be too simplistic for a lot of people but for me if there is a song, movie, actor, comedian.... that I don't like then I don't watch/listen to them. There are definitely artists who rub me the wrong way that tons of people love and lots of shows/movies that give me negative reactions. In those cases I just avoid them going forward but in no way do I see a benefit in making everyone give them up to suit my personal preferences.
  18. I agree. I just can't imagine his call on a potential Super Bowl win will move the needle at all as far as improving the moment.
  19. I have been thinking about this lately. For all of us that lived through the 90s team run Van Miller is forever etched into our memories for his epic calls of legendary Bills games/moments. It is so strong that for me, and I assume most, Van is the official voice of that era. That being said, in 20 years or so will Murph really cut it as the official voice of the Bills era we are just entering? For me I don't think he will ever measure up to the moments, especially if the Bills finally win it all with Allen.
  20. Was actually referencing this: But I wouldn't be surprised if someone got on to your thought as well.... or can even see a call to cancel Tush, Tube Snake Boogie, or Pearl Necklace. Ha, now that I think about it ZZ Top really did have a flair for the sexual innuendo in a lot of their tunes.
  21. We hit one of these locations up when there in 2019: https://hattieb.com/ Definitely lived up to the hype as far as hot chicken goes. I have been hunting that flavor ever since and tried many different NY restaurant's versions of "Nashville Hot Chicken" since that didn't even come close.
  22. You mean other than last season when the Bills played them in OP? 😁
  23. Lots of good ones to choose from but random top of the head stab... Barney Stinson Cosmo Kramer Charlie Kelly Woody Boyd Jack Tripper
  24. It would be nice to go back to a time where there was competition for halftime eyes. No better halftime entertainment than this gem from 1999 for me. (though Prince was pretty awesome)
