Serious question... Can Etienne make positive yardage behind bad run blocking? I watched zero Clemson football games so I have no idea if his production is more along the lines of an Emmitt Smith who had holes so big he was rarely touched before the second level, or more like Barry Sanders who more often than not had to find ways to make yardage with very little blocking.

I hope you're analysis proves out this season as the last thing I think any Bills fan wants is even more accolades added to Brady's resume. A Tamps 5-12 season with a lot of Brady temper tantrum meltdowns would be great television this fall. To me the AFC just seems like a tougher road to 17-0 for any team in that conference.

Tampa looks to me the most realistic out of the 5 based on their schedule. Their division shouldn't be much of a challenge now that Brees is gone. They play the dumpster fire NFC East and then have the AFC East for out of conference. Obviously there are always surprise teams that rise and fall each year but based on what we know from last year it seems like the Bills, Packers and Seahawks are the only teams that might give them trouble.

Who's your pick for this years Madden cover?

If you are talking about Lakeview I am really curious about it too. I saw Ryan McMahon say in a press conference a couple weeks ago that they were planning on shows there this summer but with social distancing measures that would cap out around 5k people. I can't imagine how that would work with the shows that were rescheduled or how that could attract any new acts when you take an 18k venue down to that size. Just doesn't seem like it would be worth the effort for the artists. Or at least not worth it for the quality of acts that place typically supports.

Unconventional one probably but Armageddon has a couple tear jerker spots for me.

I lost my Aunt this past Monday who was also a huge Bills fan. She lived in south FL for the past 40+ years and never shied away from flying her Bills flags high and wearing the colors even deep behind enemy lines in the heart of Dolphins country. I also lost my mom, another huge Bills fan, 3 years ago next week. There always seems to be a strong bond over the Bills between family members who grew up in WNY. It is hard to explain if you didn't grow up around it but I think many of us here experienced Bills football Sundays as a big family event and have lots of memories created around it. Sorry for your loss. I have to believe Bills Mafia will be even stronger in heaven.

Haven't been out to swing my sticks around in close to 10 years but when I was playing more regularly Harvest Hill in Orchard Park was easily the nicest I'd ever played on.

Didn't Syracuse win the national championship just last year? I mean they played the last game of the NCAA college basketball season and they won it, so that seems pretty conclusive to me. 😄

This is an excellent point that I have been considering leading up to where the rights to streaming, or the new Sunday Ticket type access lands. As we move more and more to a streaming world, and more people cut the cord, my hope is the NFL will see that selling a package that bulk includes "all" games minus black out restrictions doesn't make as much sense. As people move away from traditional TV but would still like to be able to enjoy watching their choice of NFL games how can they justify a big price tag for a Sunday Ticket type package when every SNF, MNF, TNF, local broadcasts and the few Saturday games would not be included? I suppose for DTV it made a bit of sense as you had to have a DTV subscription and would still be able to watch all the Sunday Ticket blacked out games but the cable subscription TV model is dying for sure. I'm not confident that they will be able to be forward thinking enough to come up with something that makes sense but my hope is they will come up with something that makes sense instead of these old antiquated models.

A Gift To Putin On Way Out The Door
Metal Man replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
When it came time for them to "show us theirs" they used every delay tactic to ground our pilots and make it as difficult as possible for us to fly our missions as well as restricting where we were allowed to fly even though we let them fly over every single base in the US they chose as well as the capitol. This resulted in them ultimately having much more imagery over us than we had over them. That is a good question. Satellites have smaller windows for capturing images as they orbit through a position and I would assume are much more prone to cloud cover. The planes can fly defined patterns with cameras constantly firing off high resolution photos. I assume this would give them much more coverage than an orbiting camera but there could be other reasons. This kind of speaks to my original point though. Why give them unfettered access to our country when we don't really need the same in return anyway? -

Well political leaning is all about belief... To me though the idea that every single thing Trump did was bad is as laughable as saying every single thing he did was good. The Open Skies treaty was about allowing each other to surveil openly. In other words we would allow Russia to fly their spy planes over any place in our country they liked and in return they were supposed to allow us the same but in reality it wasn't evening out. Pulling out only means if they want to surveil us now they will have to do it covertly and/or by satellite and that would be the same for us. As far as decommissioning the old cameras all that says to me is that if Biden decides to get back into the treaty then at least we will have better technology if Russia ever lets our planes get off the ground from their airfields, which like I said they rarely did. -

Love or hate Trump the spin that him opting out of Open Skies was a bad thing is 100% BS. I work in defense and I promise you this was the best move for America. The treaty was great in theory but in practice we showed them ours but they fought against us every step of the way to show us theirs so it really made no sense to continue along in a situation where we weren't getting an equal share in return. Plus to be honest we don't really need the extra surveillance anyway. -
Possibility of 16 playoff teams this year
Metal Man replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get the 8th team per conference is only if they have to add a week 18 or cut games completely but I thought the 7th team per conference was being added this year regardless of the pandemic and would be the norm going forward? -
NY Giants makes sense to me. He can just carry his stuff to the locker room across the hall and doesn't need to change his home address.

The 506: NFL TV Schedule and Maps: Week 3
Metal Man replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a monumental shift for Fox as far as Bills respect goes. I have lived in the CNY area for a little over 15 years and during that time the Bills and Giants were on Fox in the same time slot many times and in every single instance Fox decided to show the Giants instead. Two years ago Fox even decided to show Cowboys/Colts instead of Bills/Lions. I guess the Bills finally have some marketability to the rest of the NFL world. -
Adam Gase on playing the Bills defense: “It’s chaotic”
Metal Man replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And that was the irony of Rex's tenure seeing he was supposed to be a defensive genius. Though I would think a lot of people would be more likely to give Roman the credit for the Bills offense before he somehow got fired as the scapegoat for a terrible defensive performance. Especially seeing the success he is having with the Ravens offense now. In my opinion the mistake was made by Brandon and the Pegula's for even bringing Rex in. The defense was already elite so why hire a defensive coach HC especially considering the O was horrid? Imagine if they could have brought in an offensive mind like Frank Reich or Kyle Shanahan and then kept Schwartz on as DC? To me that would have been the smarter direction to go at the time but can't complain now as things are trending up. -

Rex took an amazing defense and turned it into a pile of crap. McD took Rex's mess of a D and brought it back to elite status. I imagine that is where most of the animosity towards Rex comes from in our fan base.- 70 replies

Bills Entire Marketing Dept Steps Down
Metal Man replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could be as simple as they saw their workload and responsibilities shrinking with the upcoming pandemic season and wanted to move on to something with more job stability before they get laid off. -
Awful draft for sure. Just couldn't be worst ever for me with a Bills legend like Kyle in it. Even if you believe he was slightly overrated he was one of the only consistent positives on a lot of terrible teams.

What Festivals are You Really Missing this Year?

NYS Fair Though it hasn't been officially cancelled yet I can't imagine an event that draws around 100k people a day is going to be able to happen in 2.5 months.
