McDermott is feeling the pressure
RyanC883 replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Reid and others have been to and won many SB’s. McD was basically excusing the inability to sniff one. agree the roster is setup to win. Disagree with the Mahomes issue. Allen is a better playoff and reg season QB. The reason we have not won is coaching related—particularly the D. -
McDermott is feeling the pressure

McD is a slightly more personable Jauron with Allen. Although McD did state they want to take the next step, but he does seem tone def for being seemingly ok with making the divisional round “because it’s hard”. -
Pass rusher. A huge need not being talked about enough
RyanC883 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
yep, this is the issue. Lots of potential depth guys, no real studs, so not much talk about it. -
today's PFF draft. My fav yet. 2 impact DTs. A potential WR1. Potential new C. Potential great backup QB who could be flipped for picks. Good backup slot, good secondary and edge depth. Bruiser RB.

Marvin Harrison Jr wants to be a Bill
RyanC883 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd be okay giving up next years 1 if that pick gets us Harrison, really nothing else, however. If we trade up and land another of the top 4 WR's, I'd be fine trading some of our lower picks this year. We need to come out with a future #1 WR, a starting safety, a 1T (later round) and a backup IOL (also can be found later this year). A Edge would be nice, but there seems to be an availability later with them as none really stand out, IMO. -

getting one of Harrison, Nabers, or Thomas would be fantastic. I think you are correct; we likely trade up slightly and land Thomas. We may have to get ahead of wherever PGH is, however, because they are likely in the WR market, as well as KC wanting to trade up perhaps. Given that Harrison likely ends up on AZ to start, Thomas will be the better rookie WR because of Allen and attention on Diggs and Kincaid. -
OG Barton in Rd 1!

Great highlights. I think he goes 2nd.

Jeremiah has us taking a DT at 28 in his latest mock
RyanC883 replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d be okay with that DT at 28 assuming WRs through Thomas are gone. Not really any other though. -
Looks like the Houston Texans’ new uniforms have leaked

with so many simulators out there, I thought it would be intereesting for each person to post 2 mock drafts at a time, and let people comment on what one they like best and why. I'll start: I like the PFF one here (it's the 1st), but not by a lot. We get a potentially good edge rusher, a day 1 WR who can likely take over as WR 1, a great backup tackle, impact RB, and solid DL, secondary, WR, and other depth players. I could see almost everyone making the team with Casey Washington and J. Green being question marks. (I took Polk over Leggette, interested to see how others feel about that. I did it because Polk has a history of production every year in college, unlike Leggette, who make take 1-2 years to adapt to the NFL like he did in college). The Pro Football network one, on the other hand, is heavy on defense up front, but makes up for it with the additions of RB Wright (likely an unneeded lux pick there), then Rice an Jackson at WR. Decent depth at safety and solid edge contributors round out the draft and what I think is a steal at backup QB that late in Milton.

I’d take take him in rd 4.

Likely Mid Round Draft Guys You Just Feel Will be Good

really like Cowing as backup slot -
We are set at WR. Maybe we’ll grab one in Round 6.
RyanC883 replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Disagree. Two reasons: 1. we need Diggs replacement who could be thre at 28 or by a slight trade up (Brian Thomas Jr). 2. WR in Rd. 1 gives an extra year of cost control. Additionally, we need a LB over O lineman. WR S/LB/DL/IOL on repeat until another good WR pops up. -
most likely returner to replace Harty. Good singing from that aspect as it means we din’t need a rookie to return.
-
if the plan is backup fantastic. ST player. fills another hole pre draft.
-
love it. fills a huge hole at DT. still can draft 1-2 (2nd-3rd and late pick). draft seems deep at 1T types. We can now get 2 early WR—even 1in both 1st -2nd round).
-
I agree with this, but the thought exercise I guess is if he is there at 28, what do you do? I'd take him, then grab a WR by trading up in Rd. 2. You'd have a dynamic TE set for the next 4 years, a top WR in Diggs, and another WR in the rookie. Really opens up the offense, IMO.
