  1. I actually like 4. If coaches manage these games well, they get the starters brief game-speed action, while getting backups and borderline players valuable reps, for either here or elsewhere.
  2. Sounds like he got busted early and tried to convince players to let him stay: https://triblive.com/sports/steelers/13963536-74/steelers-fan-in-full-uniform-sneaks-onto-field-with-team
  3. DC Butler is overrated. If they blow another playoff game due to inept secondary/defense play, I expect to see a new DC next year. (they should have canned him after he made Bortles looks like a pro-bowler). that's because you live in Ohio All AFC North fans are somewhat annoying (except perhaps Bengals fans?)
  4. Can't hurt to look. Davis not looking great so far.
  5. Quit complaining about people complaining. ? Yep. That, or he totally sucked. Either way, he should be a backup.
  6. should have laid-out for the one that was "out of his reach." Like I said, he has all the talent, but the "extra effort" needed to win wasn't there. Could be why he rode Saban's bench. Only Daboll really knows.
  7. yeah, this guys main mistake really was wearing #43. Huge error. At least he got to chat with AB for a while. that is a backup QB with an awesome sense of humor!
  8. ahaha. It still makes zero sense to me. One of the Steelers QB's even complained about it. Seems like there was a defective ball or something. I can't see Tomlin like, "lets evaluate the QBs, but give them deflated balls in the summer."
  9. I hope he does. The talent is all there. Just needs to use it. Hopefully Daboll can get through to him. If not, he's a lost cause. And he's someone I was very high on.
  10. I don't get Foster. If he at least dives after some of those balls he is almost in "helps" himself. Lack of effort will get you cut, straight out. Interested to see how he does Friday. i'm expecting big things. If not, he's gone. Also, someone put Vonte Davis on the hurt list. He was bad, and then bad again in practice getting lit up by Zay.
  11. If you've gone to all those stores and still can't find what you want, try fanatics.com
  12. why you don't lay out for a catch, esp. a potential TD when you are on the bubble and an UDFA is mind-boggling. I'm sure he is hearing it from Daboll today. Benjamin showed up every play. If he's healthy, pro-bowl year for him. He's got the talent and the heart.
  13. I agree they see a lot of potential in him, or at least needed to pay him that to sign him. But I also don't think this coaching staff and FO care how much they are paying a player. They will play the best one. Never said he was. Cadet looked good last year. We could have a better backfield than most think.
  14. wow, 5 SB losses in a row. That totally sucks. On the other hand, 5 straight SB's. Was he the backup with SD? Surprised he never bolted for a backup job/starting job elsewhere.
  15. this has to be an innocent mistake on the part of the Steelers. Why would you cheat in a preseason game, especially when you are trying to evaluate who will be the #2 QB. Its nonsensical, but won't stop Pats**** fans from whining.
  16. Congratulations finding the exception to the rule. I'm not a "TT hater," but TT missed NUMEROUS WIDE-OPEN WR's. Did you attend any games last year? In the Saints game there were guys open all over the middle of the field, he never saw them or never threw the ball. He is a one-read and run guy. He had nowhere to run on that play, so he kept looking in the same spot waiting for Holmes. He is watching Holmes the entire time, from Holmes route on the right side of the screen to when he streaks left. A great pass, but a one-read pass.
  17. Encouraging that Ivory looks good. Having him back at his normal level gives a nice one-two punch. Cadet I think has a bit of hammer to his running style, but I agree he is best used as hybrid WR/RB like Murphy. perhaps too obvious??
  18. I'd have to disagree. You add Mack, you have the makings of a perhaps legendary defense. combine that with the drafting of offensive weapons in rounds 2-7 next draft, plus other off season OL additions and you add a few wins. You potentially limit the other team to 10 points or fewer per game. Mack, Edmunds and Milano is a scary trio.
  19. Thanks Yolo. Good stuff as always. But is Ivory a lock to be RB2. I'm thinking Cadet or Murphy could replace him. I think it's an open backfield after Shady.
  20. An extremely dominate D can win Super Bowls. Ravens have done it, Tampa did with Trent Dilfer as QB, Steelers nearly made the super bowl Big Ben's rookie year on the back of their D.
  21. It's kinda sad, like he has some serious issues.
  22. Great post by the OP. A fun game, I'll give it a try: QB: Green Bay if depth is not considered. But the Eagles due to depth. Winning a SB with a backup is solid, and Wentz is good. RB: Saints. Ingram and Kamara are the best 1-2 punch in the league. Also, will be interesting to see Jonathan Williams while Ingram is serving his suspension. Close second is the Falcons. New England could be a surprise here with rookie Sony Michel plus Jeremy HIll, James White and Gillisslee WR and TE: Steelers. Taking the best WR in the game in Antonio Brown, paired with a great rookie in JuJu Smith, along with a promising rookie in James Washington and you have the top, without even considering the TE position. Jesse James has improved every year, and I expect will see even more action this year. Houston is close here with Hopkins and Fuller. The Raiders look interesting with Cooper and Nelson (who was on fire pre-Rodgers injury), but have too many question marks. (is Cooper really a WR1? How will Nelson fare w/o Rodgers even though Carr is good, and will M. Bryant be good, or is he washed-up. O-Line: Cowboys. Hard to argue with this one. D-Line (excluding pass rushers): Rams. Even before the addition of Shu, A. Donald was dominant. Now they are paired together. Pass Rushers: Agree with another poster, so I'll just copy him: "Chargers. Broncos could be there as well, but Bosa and Ingram are insane." If we are talking D-line rushers, then I'd go with the Jaguars. Underappreciated group: Arizona Cardinals, with Chandler Jones and Markus Golden. Line Backers (Off ball): I'd go Vikings as a poster above stated, Barr and Kendricks are fantastic. I also think Barr is undervalued. Another option is Seattle, with Bobbi Wagner and K.J Wright and Mingo. But Mingo is a huge ??. Can Pete Carrol do another turn-around here!? Secondary: Bills. I think the Jaguars are over-hyped here. Are they great, yes. But the Bills have what looks like 2 top 10 corners in White and Davis, and top safeties in Hyde and Poyer. The entire pass defense last year was reliant on great coverage due to our inability to rush the passer. Imagine what will happen if we can pressure the QB this year! Special Teams: Ravens. Justin Tucker is fantastic. If the Rams could get into FG range more often, he would be more valuable in fantasy!
  23. if this somehow happens, the board will shut-down, and thread would exceed 500 pages. And I will love every minute of it and buy a Mack Jersey--which I also predict will top NFL Jersey sales.
  24. Interesting that Lawson is not a starter, and that Foster is so far down the WR depth-chart. Although this could be that the coaching staff already likes Foster and wants to see what the others do. AJMcPeterman
  25. this nonsense needs to end. The "drum-line," mascots, etc. It's pro-football. Cheerleaders, bands, etc. belong in college. And I'm not "old-school," but this stuff is just annoying.
