going the AARP/IR route with Star and Trent was a bad offseason move. -
Anyone else having issues and have a notice saying, "We're having trouble playing this video...."

Our Problem... Josh Allen Can't Win

We all lost it a LONG time ago -
Totally agree. How did they not know Bell would act like this/respond like this. Could have traded him for a ransom in the off-season. Now, less likely unless a RB needy team has its starter go down and is willing to pay Bell. (Giants, etc.). I guarantee you Bell makes more from being an NFL player than Pouncy and DeCastro and Foster. Endorsement deals for a top athlete. And the fact that Bell reigned on his word that he would show-up for the regular season and refuses to tell the team his plans. That is what is REALLY bothering them.

Mentioned yesterday the #Steelers final offer to RB Le’Veon Bell was 5 years, $70M. More context today: The fully guaranteed part was his signing bonus of just over $10M. He would’ve made $33M over the 1st two years — in a rolling guaranteed structure. $45M over the 1st 3 years. looks like your right. in any event, cry me a freaking river. The guy plays football. He told his teammates he would show-up for the regular season and didn't. Who is disrespecting who now? The guys blocking for him make less. Can't wait till Connor lights it up. I don't even think Bell is as talented as Gurley, Kamara, Johnson, or McCoy, FFYIW. He runs behind a great line and waits for holes to open with his delay step. That won't work everywhere.
-
To quote the generally diplomatic Steeler OL Foster: ""He’s making seven times what I make, twice as much as [LT] Al [Villanueva] is making and we’re the guys who do it for him." But the Steelers offered Bell a TON of money. Bell wants to be paid like the top WR and RB. No one here in Pittsburgh even wants him around. exactly. And this is the same with all non-guaranteed NFL contracts. He could sign a long-term deal that paid him $14 annually and had a huge guaranteed amount. or, the O-line is sick of listening to Bell whine about why he dosen't get paid. Bell is great in part because the Steelers have a great O-line. And Bell turned-down a ton of money. He's a diva.

and none of those players were on the level that Mack is. okay. when the Bears have a dominant D for the next 5 years and a QB on a rookie contract we'll see who "won" the trade. Raiders won't make the playoffs in that timespan. Bears won't have any relief in the draft? They have 2nd round and onward. They now have Mack and Roquan at LB. They will have a top 5 D. The raiders have no one. Suh and Haynesworth were bums before those trades/money. Mario was fantastic his first 3 years here with 10, 13 and 14 sacks while being on a top 5 D.
-
And A. Donald was undersized and fell in the draft. OOps.
-
not saying McBeane would do it, only that he should have done it. We have a rookie QB, rookie MLB, and tons of cap space and the cap goes up every year. For the best defensive player since Watt in his prime, yeah, you do that. As great as Edmunds is/will be, Mack is great now. Having them together would have been fantastic. And we need OL, WR, etc. help next year. Something that can easily be found in Round 2 onward.
-
This was a generational talent LB that they could pare with Edmunds. We totally lack a pass rush. Giving up 2 1st for him is not bad. You can get OL help and WR help in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. We should have made the trade, and beat the Bears by including McCarron. Smoking Jay is not Mack. And they are not building the team with Mack, rather filling a hole and putting pressure on Rodgers, etc. Great trade, IMO. One we should have made. This is more akin to giving up two 1st for Bruce Smith, etc.

Esp. when Mack is here and bringing pressure from the outside!!!

Aaron Donald get extension, 6-year $135mm

I think the fact that A. Donald shows no signs of "going soft" ever makes this a solid investment. -
Sal Carpaccio: Corey Coleman Is In Trouble
RyanC883 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is a great point. IR McCloud, and see if Coleman produces in the meantime. I also think Foster could be a force in a year or two if he is serious about learning to track the ball better. He'll be a PS candidate. -
Not a terrible idea, but I'm thinking there will be better WR's out there getting cut that we may take a look at. I like how Bean looks to upgrade everywhere. I believe we will be active after all the teams cut. (OL, CB, WR, DL, LB)

Peterman/Allen next Flutie/Johnson... hoping I am wrong
RyanC883 replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, Maddox is who I intended to say. At any rate, it IS a good comparison for the reasons you mentioned. With the exception of Maddox being an 8 year vet and Peterman being a 2nd year player, I think the coaches are familiar with Peterman by now, and are clearly committed to Allen long-term. Likely the goal is to let him learn this year, but if he learns faster than anticipated, or an injury happens, or Peterman is terrible, they play him right away. At any rate, just like the Steeler situation, Allen is the guy and will get his shot. There will not be a controversy. (and I like Peterman, Allen is just a freak ). -
Peterman/Allen next Flutie/Johnson... hoping I am wrong

I think this is more like Mike Tomzack and Ben Rothlesberger. Even had Tomzack not gotten hurt, Ben was going to start at some point--either his rookie year or next.
