he had some WIDE OPEN WR's and some passes that were simply terrible throws that cost the receiver the ability for yards after the catch. He wasn't great today by any means. But he did show potential. He was mobile in the pocket, showed the ability to run for yards when needed, and didn't look rattled even though the O-line was so bad he got sacked on a freaking handoff. Bottom Line: he has the tools, but he needs to read the entire field and not try to riffle every throw/have more "touch" on certain throws.

Good observation. be interested to see how Solder does this year. That O-line got away with a ton of holding. Light was a beast, but I'm not sold on Solder yet. might depend on the offensive scheme. I'd favor Thomas slightly. It sucked he was stuck in that wasteland his entire carrer.

def watch the QB's also. But this list allows you to go, "oh, good QB and good OL in the same game." See if any O-line play gets called-out by the announcers.

Josh Gordon to be released-now traded to PATS
RyanC883 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Get him. Instantly the best WR on the team, even if we only have him for a game or something. Bryant is back in Oakland, league perhaps taking its time with suspensions. -
Sadly, McDermott is the wrong guy to develop his own guys

to be fair to Beane, JuJu is in an explosive offense with Big Ben, and has A. Brown on the other side of him, and two capable TE's, and the best O-line in football. Kupp is good, but also has a lot going for him. Not sure how much better either are with the Bills. -
aha. he could likely play both ways!!! I'm def taking Bosa if he is there. O-line likely in 2nd and 3rd. As another poster mentioned, why get a QB then not protect him. It's like buying a new shiny car and not maintaining it. Eventually you'll ruin your investment/spend.

Great post. I agree with it. I almost wonder if the only help they would bring in is O-line (so as to not get Allen killed) and let the remainder of the season ride-out. Lots of appealing FA targets next year that can fill a bunch of other holes. I'm excited for this weekend. I think Allen has a good game.

The Game Plan Moving Forward
RyanC883 replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
totally agree. There needs to be a safety valve or two. I like the OP's idea of two RB's. One left, one right, and perahps a TE safety valve. Speaking of TE's, perhaps we can trade Clay to Tenn. He is worthless in this offense for whatever reason. I think Croom nad Thomas will have better seasons. -
I like this idea. He looked decent in Ben's absence, and can likely share some of what Ben does with Allen--who has similar QB traits to Ben (big , pocket mobile, strong arm)

haha. not if they want to win. ! Just posted this for people wondering who the top ranked OL are, because FA looks very thin. that could be good, because some amazing DL help available in the first.

yeah yeah i have no idea who to watch in college, guess I'll be trying to see if any line-play sticks out, which is incredibly hard.

We will need new players on the O-line. Here is the CBSSports ranking of top college OT's and Guards and Centers. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings/offensive-tackles (OT) https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings/offensive-guards (OG) https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings/centers (C). one guy!! http://walterfootball.com/draft2019C.php (Walter football center)

Nobody should be doubting Beane or McDermott

not much in the way of affordable FA or draft to address. I'd take Edmunds and Allen over a OL. Not much OL FA next year either. Will be hitting that in the draft. 10 picks next year. The two biggest positions might be addressed. getting the OL iand pass rush in place is now a priority. -
humors me. On a radio station here in Pittsburgh they take Tomlin's coach-speak and interject into the shows. it's really funny. every coach does it.

This says it all...wide the hell open
RyanC883 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that's a TD with most other QB's. Landry Jones out there anywhere? time to put in Allen. See what he has. If it's not enough, get Bridgewater in FA. -
they make bad trades, but they have drafted well. PFF gave him one of the highest grades for rookie tackles/guards.

Who are we competing with for the #1 overall pick?
RyanC883 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with Walker injured, they are in huge trouble. Titans are my bet for #1 pick next year. -
Which singular player were you most disappointed with?
RyanC883 replied to Bockeye's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
valid point, but this is about yesterday. He was disappointing yesterday (not overall, to which your point is valid). Yesterday he should have had a TD, ended up causing an INT, among other miscues. yep. Like a FA Hail-Mary I think. Were there other DL out there? I have no idea.
