  1. Does he have good hands? I mean, generally I'd say WR's do, but after watching the drop-fest at Minn I'm questioning that ! Solid contributer=#1 or 2 WR on this team at the current time.
  2. who did they "gut" that would have made a difference besides R. Woods? K. Benjamin plays like he's 3 inches shorter than he is. D. Thompson played "bigger" than him. Well, they should have kept D. Thompson. agree with this. And they made moves like K. Benjamin that looked like winners at the time. So did J. Matthews, who even the Pats*** scooped up. Neither one has panned out. Someone should remind Benjamin it's a contract year for him.
  3. put a spy in there, leave Croom or someone else wide open. Shady could have a field-day. But if I'm them, I do it like you suggest: until it hurts you. Make the young QB and bad WR's have another game. hopefully our WR's don't drop the ball!! I'd throw to Croom or a RB at this point.
  4. Big Ben is interesting in that the Steelers arguably went the opposite direction of what this article suggests. They ditched high-priced guys and replaced them (Mike Wallace, kept AB, not signing Bell, etc). You have to hit on a lot of draft picks. But a QB like Ben makes a lot of the offense look great. The D on the other hand has taken a while.
  5. the question is: what return do you get for trading a guy like Mariota or Winston. I think Carr could still get you a decent haul, but the lower end guys your looking at a 3rd or 2nd rounder at best. I agree that few GM's would have the balls to do this.
  6. This is an interesting idea. Ideally you would trade the younger guy (i.e. Carr), get a high draft pick, draft a QB, and then ALSO bring in a veteran such as Fitzpatrick, etc. who can play if the rookie falters and/or until ready. While you are doing that, you build out a great support staff of O-line and D. Put a system in place that can win with someone like Foles.
  7. huh. same people making different picks? is this at different times?
  8. if you are betting an amount of money that is "devastating" for you to lose, you really need to get professional help. https://www.ncpgambling.org/help-treatment/national-helpline-1-800-522-4700/ (just found by quick google search)
  9. If Bodine can't play next week, we need to bring in a center to challenge Groy. In fact, we should do that anyway.
  10. I was thinking the same thing. I knew he was athletic like the TD run demonstrated, but jumping like that. wow.
  11. I know some people believe this, but it's not true. The Steelers have reloaded a ton of talent over the past 10 years with We had the drought because of terrible drafting by the prior regime: 2009: 11th picK: Maybin instead of Orakpo; 2010: 9th pick: CJ Spiller instead of Earl Thomas; or D. Morgan, or M. Pouncey 2011: 3rd pick Dearus. That one was okay. But JJ Watt would be better. 2012: 12th pick: Gillmore. A good pick, and a pick a 6-10 team can get. 2013: 16th pick: EJ Manual. Xavier Rhodes, Eric Reed, DeAndre Hopkins, and Travis Fredrick all 1st rounders taken later. 2014: 4th Pick: Sammy Watkins. Yeah, K. Mack would be a much better pick. or A. Donald, taken at 13; or Ryan Schazier taken at 15. 2015: No 1st round pick. Some names available around 10: Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon, etc. I'll stop there, but you get the point. There is a lot of talent around where a 6-10 team can draft. You just have to make the right picks.
  12. that's right. I forgot about the extension. I was thinking he was still looking fora contract. Good call.
  13. good call on Tyrod to the 49ers. And if I'm the Cards, perhaps trading RB Johnson also. Could Johnson and Bell be swapped??
  14. could McCarron be going to SF?>?!! Your right though. Someone has a QB that they could get a nice pick for. Bridgewater?
  15. just like teams that are getting better need to "learn how to win," Bills fans will need to learn how to win.
  16. I love this idea. Also, Shady has better hands than most of our WR's and TE's. Our O-line is not good for a back like Shady, so get him in space and use him more lined-up wide. 15 targets a game.
  17. I don't mind the TD run, but hurdling was needed against Minn at that point. Likely never again unless a huge game. Although I want to see Allen throw as much, but have some WR's and Clay make catches that receivers on other teams make for their QB's. This is a clear message to Barr. Sign with the Bills in the off-season or have Allen embarrass you!
  18. Inexcusable really that GB and LAC have both wasted really really good QB play with terrible D's for most of Rodgers/Rivers tenures. here is one from the running world: https://www.runnersworld.com/health-injuries/a20864073/how-to-cure-quad-pain-calf-pain-and-heavy-legs/
  19. your friends are lame. I have friends like that. I hope you were texting them all game about how they suck as fans!
  20. would love to see inside pics. Plane is awesome. And as someone else said, getting rare to see!!
  21. I think that stupid roughing call combined with the incomplete pass that was called a fumble got to him. The officials were questionable for a 2nd straight week. Again not outcome determinative, but really, the incomplete pass was some basic stuff they screwed up twice.
  22. how does the "hedge the bet" by betting on the Bills work. So he puts 5K on the Bills. Wins. Then uses that money to pay off the loss from the other bet? Makes sense.
  23. oh man. I'd get professional help if you have an addiction. 17 pts is a lot. i don't gamble, but perhaps someone who does can suggest something to help you break-even in the event you don't win the 5K bet.
