  1. I suspect that McBeane and co have already started their game planning against the dirty birds. Steelers comeback from this beatdown is to quote Mrs. Wormer in Animal House "Doubtful".
  2. Tomlin should hide his head in shame.
  3. Good news is we can play with the Ravens, Cleve might be able to beat KC, then AFC game is in the OP. Like our chances against the Browns in the OP.
  4. Steelers kinda sucking. How did they win 11 in a row?
  5. Remember Josh played college football in Laramie Wyoming. Much colder and windier than Buffalo. Laramie temp tonight 12 degrees, Buffalo 33 degrees.
  6. do we have any other 6-4 big fast receivers in the red zone.
  7. I think McBeane will go for Williams. Yeldon is a Meh. Willams will play probably 30% of the game, but he is probably a better 2nd/3rd/4th and one solution.
  8. I'm an original Bills fan, 1960-present. Andre Reed could get open in a phone booth. Elbert Dubenion [admittedly AFL] could get open against any DB, sadly Kemp had a rag arm, and Lamonica [one of the great deep throwers in history] was riding the pines. Josh has the best arm the NFL has probably ever seen, velocity, accuracy and flat out arm strength. Doubt Rogers could have made that deep throw to Diggs more than 25%. Allen is completing more than 50% of his throws deep middle. If Brown was healthy, stay tuned.
  9. QBR is a proprietary calcuation [e.g. ESPN's enigma machine]. Here's a wikipedia writeup. If Dean Oliver is involved, he's a Bill James type stats guru, very smart and solid guy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_quarterback_rating In a nutshell, I think Rivers higher QBR in this case was he was dinking and dunking, but his receivers were picking up lots of yards after catch, whereas Josh's throws [e.g. Davis toe drags, knox TD] accounted for nearly all of the yardage on the play. The tight ends in particular were gashing our defense. Kelce is giving me nightmares already. Also Rivers was not sacked and did not fumble. Josh was sacked 2 times for 23 yards and had a fumble, which doesn't affect his NFL rating, but does impact QBR. Hope this helps. Apparently the program for QBR takes 10,000 lines of computer code, which is a pretty complex algorithm for an application. I've been doing stats [baseball, football, basketball] since 1965, computer science degree and 50 year bean counter.
  10. 1964 AFL Championship season [Cookie Gilchrist as RB]. He caught 42 passes with 10 TD's and a season average of 27.1 yards per reception with "rag arm" Jack Kemp as his QB.
  11. Dubenion was a great WR, in a different era. Fastest guy in the league. 18 yards per reception over his career. Doubled on most plays in his career...
  12. So bills five wide would be Diggs, Brown, Beasley, Davis, McKenzie, Scary thought. Have we ever even in K-gun have had this much talent.
  13. Chargers are now in LA. Daboll is a Ft. Erie/Hamburg guy, big difference, but he would do better with Herbert than the mess the Jests are.
  14. Josh has unreal arm talent, some of the throws he makes on the move are eye-popping, he can hit nearly any spot in a 40 yard radius, from almost any position on the field. We do need to find a reliable tight end for him, Is there a George Kittle clone rattling around anywhere?
  15. I thought we kicked the Seahawks in the teeth. We were up 21 with 9 minutes left in the 4th, before they scored on a blown db assignment and a late TD. That was their worst loss of the season, and the most points they gave up all season.
  16. This is the uniform combo the Bills wore during their championship win vs. the Chargers in 1964. Standing Buffalo would be so cool.
  17. Does Fitz [Harvard Guy] wind up in New England? If he retires, I would go after him as a QB coach if Dorsey becomes OC.
  18. Bills face Chargers every 2-4 years at most, would really want to not face Daboll more often than that with the right offensive tools.
  19. So you really want to get your head, neck and upper torso crushed by 300 pound world class athletes 5-10 x per game?
  20. 1964 Bills SHUT OUT the league leading San Diego offense in the title game. Mike Stratton almost killed the best back in the league in that game with one of the form tackles in football history.
  21. Good thoughts here. But on closer exam, Lee Smith has made several key catches and is big enough to block any lineman. If Knox can catch, we are good, if not, go for a Kelce type.
  22. If you have ever lived/worked on the southern border, that's the way it's pronounced.
  23. He grew up on a farm, nobody works harder than a kid who grows up on a farm. McBeane gave him a really high class set of tools, Diggs, Brown, Beasley, McKenzie, running back twins, Need a #1 tight end and we are the new Pats.
  24. Mc Beane have their eyes on the prize. Stay tuned.
