No new jersey for me. Little point to it.

what channel is football on today?
CodeMonkey replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah but the clock does not stop during play either so they add the "wasted time" (usually 2-4 minutes) to the end of each half. If they added all the wasted time to the end of a NFL game half or quarter, each game would take a week! You are a lucky man indeed. But you do realize you can watch via internet streams! -

Does the Gailey hire mean big moves?
CodeMonkey replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Waiting for play on the field is too late. They want season ticket sales. That being said, at least half of the season ticket holders will renew their tickets no matter what anyway. Most of the others are desperately looking for an excuse ... any excuse ... to renew theirs. A whole new coaching staff and GM is probably enough for most of them. Irregardless of who the new people are. I do not think they need a TO type signing this off season to get good season ticket sales. -
What Chan and Buddy Are Doing Right Now
CodeMonkey replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given the fact that they are older southern boys, they probably are not watching the Sabres game. Probably cracking a beer or two, having a dip of redman chewing tobacco and toasting their good fortune. -
Buffalo's odds to win the Super Bowl next season
CodeMonkey replied to Lt. Dan's Revenge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A rookie HC that shows potential is a better bet than someone with a proven mediocre track record IMO. Are you implying that we will have a QB equal to the ones you refer to this coming season? Possible, but it is also possible that I will hit the lottery this week .... but I wouldn't bet on it This bet is for winning the superbowl, not going to the dance. At 100-1 it's a fools bet in my opinion. At 1000-1 or better I can see putting $100 down. Yeah either way at the end of the season it's almost certainly $100 gone. But at least the $100K potential return on investment is a worthwhile prize. -
Buffalo's odds to win the Super Bowl next season

Haven't sniffed even the playoffs in 10 years. No discernible QB at this point. Rookie GM, and a HC who hasn't been a NFL HC for 10 years. And when he was (for 2 seasons) his record was a smidge over .500. Only 100-1? You would have to be insane to take that bet. 1000-1 and it might be worth a lark if you had money you could afford to lose. -
Anyone else feel the SB was boring?
CodeMonkey replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, that pretty much sums up the excitement level. No more commercial breaks than any other game once it got going. -
My wife and I thought their voices sounded horrible, and my wife also commented on how old they looked. My only answer to that was ... they are! I wonder if the reason they keep getting these fossil bands is because the NFL audience in general is more older than younger? Even most of the commercials seemed to be aimed at an older (i.e. > 30) audience.

Hmmmm LA or Buffalo. Believe it or not, I'd pick Buffalo. Besides traffic, you forgot fires, quakes, more and more-violent gangs, air pollution, outrageously priced homes, and everywhere you !@#$ing go, no matter what time of !@#$ing day or night, there are a !@#$ing shitload of people there. I hate hate hate LA, don't even like visiting there on business when I have to.

Today is Nat'l Signing Day and still no DC hire
CodeMonkey replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No more likely or unlikely than before. Could be they just can't find anyone they like that will accept. Only thing to do is wait and see. -
And that's the reaction from some people who live in a below average environment (by most peoples standards). Calling it lack of sac when it really is just common sense.

I take my kids to the kids day game and they love it. Most of the hard core drunks either take it down a few notches or skip the game altogether (which is greatly appreciated). Last year it was weird because they had that food channel tailgating thing going on. Should be back to normal this year. I'm sure your kids will love it.

Well to be fair, of the senior staff, AVP took a demotion (technically), DJ took a double demotion (HC to DB coach if it happens) and Perry took a demotion back to DC. If they had/stayed-at those positions on the Bills I think they would have done fine.

Colts to make Peyton Manning highest paid player in NFL
CodeMonkey replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True. If it keeps going like this, the NFL will crash and burn like what the junk mortgages did to our economy. -

20 million for a 16 game regular season? Think about that for a minute and let it sink in, that's more than a million dollars PER GAME. How can that possibly be "worth every penny". The NFL is just out of control, pure and simple. -
Congrats ... so where is the picture of her in her pink Bills Jersey??????

Where the heck did you pull that number from? A billion just to relocate a team? But the point of the debt load argument is fairly simple. Do you make more money (which makes it faster, easier, and indeed even possible to pay off your debt) in a big market town with higher ticket prices along with more and bigger companies to pay big bucks for luxury boxes, or a blue collar town with very little big business but a very rabid and loyal, though largely poor (according to the census), fan base? The answer is obvious. What Bills fans need is a White Knight who can afford to sacrifice profitability to keep the Bills in Buffalo. And even if such a Knight existed, the other NFL owners have a big say in the matter so even that isn't a guarantee. Remember too, that when Golisano was the White Knight for the Sabres, I believe he paid less than 100 million for the team (92 if google is correct ). That's a far cry from almost 900 million the Bills are estimated to be sold for.
