  1. Public Service Loan Forgiveness…sorry jerk 😉😅
  2. He didn’t help, no, but I only counted one soft goal. To me there are “should have saved,” “could have saved,” and “WTF?!” goals.
  3. Very curious to see Westhole’s response to that post. He MUST be vehemently opposed to the GI Bill, right?
  4. Um, @Westside , I know this might not be the best time to ask, but I’ve had my eyes on this expensive bottle of Japanese bourbon at the liquor store. Even with the new “expendable” income due to my recent student loan forgiveness, I can bring myself to splurge. Given that you’re so rich, would you be willing to buy it for me as a congratulatory gift?
  5. Also people looking for free labor. My father was a union bricklayer for almost 40 years, but was a jack of all trades type of guy. I can’t remember too many weekends where he wasn’t helping someone remodel their kitchen or doing plumbing. Always helping others 😂
  6. Ehhh….the TB goal in the 2nd resulted from a bad VO turnover in the defensive zone. In the 3rd, 2/3 goals were legit good goals. The other was due to a half assed defensive effort, IMO. Swiping at sticks instead of putting bodies on bodies.
  7. Wow, okay man. Thanks for being an a-hole. Have a wonderful day.
  8. Caps are already sellers at the trade deadline. I think they’re ready to fold.
  9. Cool man 👍. Like I said, I paid off ~85K of my student loans as an educator often working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet for my family. Never once missed or made a late payment. So I don’t feel guilty at all about having my loans forgiven. I feel like, for once, middle class people like myself are getting a break. I also could find other ways to use my PhD and make more money, but I choose to work in the trenches of the public schools because that’s where I can make my greatest difference for kids and families as a psychologist. Not that I feel the need to defend myself here, but ya’know…
  10. I was a VERY average HS student. Before I started to take college seriously, I was just in it for girls, partying, and playing college lacrosse. All the wrong reasons to borrow ~30K per year to go to college. Right before my HS graduation, my grandfather offered to buy me a truck, pay for all my tools, and pay my tuition to attend trade school/training program of my choosing. I declined. I often regret that decision.
  11. Your children are very fortunate. While we have small savings accounts for each of our kids that should cover books and a small part of their tuition, my wife and I are not interested in paying for our kids’ college education. If they work hard enough in HS to earn scholarships and grants for academics/athletics then good for them. Otherwise, they can choose an option (e.g., community college, trade school, etc…) that is commensurate with their effort and aptitude. I’m not paying 70K per year so my kid can go to UVM just because it’s what they’re supposed to do after HS. My son is very much an academic. He works really hard in school, is in all honors/AP classes, and is near the top of his class. My daughter is very bright, but is not so motivated by or interested in her academics. They both will find a realistic life path. Honestly, I made it alright, but I wish I had better guidance from my parents when I graduated HS.
  12. Rodgers emerged from his dark hole today. I wonder if he will see his shadow? 🤔
  13. The PSLF program has nothing to do with income. It is for people who make student loan payments while employed in qualified “public service” professions such as public education. I had to submit documentation from each of my 3 employers with their EIN to verify that they were qualified employers.
  14. I mean, considering we picked #1 overall only 2 seasons ago, I’ll wait another season to dig out the pitchforks and torches.
  15. Yes, you could very well be correct. I got Meyers’ projected contract from Spotrac. IIRC, it was just north of 10 million AAV.
  16. Honestly, I’d rather have Jakobi Meyers at ~10 million/year.
  17. If you weren’t a blood sucking attorney maybe you could have had your loans forgiven too. 😉 😂
  18. …or you could be able to think flexibly and understand while this team has assembled a core of very good young prospects and COULD make the playoffs, the reality is that they still have holes on the roster and aren’t quite to where they need to be to compete with teams like Toronto, Carolina, Boston, etc… Both can be perceived to be true. You can reasonably believe that this is a much improved team on the right trajectory. You can also believe that playoffs is not yet a reasonable expectation.
  19. If she has any questions about the process, please let me know. It can be tricky, and I made a couple mistakes with my paperwork that caused delays. Has she consolidated her fed loans with Mohela?
  20. They need to not get shut out here. That is the goal. Get some shred of dignity back. Granted, against a very good team, but an absolutely abysmal performance. Sabres are better than this.
