  1. Taking a defense in round 6 is insane haha loving the homer pick but that is a huge reach.
  2. Henry I think they can get top 5 RB production out of. But Tannehill will be what holds that team back.
  3. I see them having some issues but they are a tough team even tougher adding Clowney. But I just don't see them winning anything with that QB situation.
  4. I just don't see Rosen staying happy and not causing issues as a backup in Buffalo. I do feel bad for him as he landed in a bad situation and got shuffled into another bad situation. Yes he might not be a starting QB but he got off to the worst start possible. Luckily for him he can pick his next spot and much like Jamis I think the best thing for his career would be to go to a team like Pittsburgh with an established vet QB and a good system. Sign a two year deal with the Sreelers and rebuild your value on the bench without the pressure of starting.
  5. Not shocking he was the 5th DT (After Star's opt out) and he seemed to be a NFL backup caliber player so it isn't a surprise to see him get snatched up by a team looking for some DT depth. I am more curious to see how many other players that are cut will be picked up by other teams. I suspect one or two more will be. I can see one of the WR's cut being picked up for a 6th spot on another team and I can see one of the O-line players getting on a roster.
  6. I don't see any conference needing to take the risk. I guess I just don't see how the proper safety protocols could work without a true closed environment.
  7. What is wrong with playing in the spring? I really fail to see what the issue would be in starting a season in March or February. Yes it sucks but is it worth risking college students and their communities health for football at this moment? The NFL has athletes that can be isolated and they have the resources to test daily and create a bubble like atmosphere. Even the biggest college programs have the issue of their athletes having to take classes in person and may lack the ability to create a bubble like atmosphere. Playing in the spring a 2.5 month long season and then start the 2021 season in October to pad out the space between the next season and start 2022 as normal.
  8. I feel like he should be added to the PS. He was on IR last season and didn't have a proper off-season this year. Former 5th round pick who was thought to be a good value at that point in the draft. Seems like he should hang around the PS for one season and then see if he can make the roster outright in training camp next year.
  9. For the past 4 years I always heard how DiMarco was on the roster because of what he does on special teams. Can anyone confirm if was actually a good special teams player? It just seems odd that despite not being a good fullback during his time here he always hung around.
  10. Slay is dam good top 12 to 5 corner the past 3 seasons, for sure. But Tre played like a top 20 corner his rookie year and then an underrated top 10 player in 2018 and was in my opinion the best corner in the league last year (and no doubt top 2.) So it isn't like Tre hasn't put up a good resume before 2019 either. Slay was definitely worth his money but I would still put Tre's resume as being slightly better AND Tre is much younger (And in any sport a contract is for what you are going to do not what you have done.) Slay will be 30 in January while Tre will turn 26 in January. That's another key difference.
  11. His cultural relevance to the sport. In the late 60's and early 70's he was footballs biggest star and probably in part legitimized the AFL NFL merger. On the field he has a few great seasons by the standards of the time but then petered out due to injury. But his relevance to the sport is greater than his on field accolades
  12. I keep hearing DiMarco is only kept for special teams and Jones is another ST guy. Lee Smith is indefensible, he is a specializing in a role he isn't very good at. Trade for Njoku and solidify the position with 3 young tight ends. I stand corrected, I think they hold onto him as the 9th oline player then and just make him inactive but then again maybe they do go 10 deep like Sal says.
  13. I could see this team putting Feliciano on the Pup list to start the season and rolling with 9 O-line players and putting Fromm on as the third QB. I think they then will cut the 9th O-line player to make room for Mongo when he is back after week 6. It just doesn't make sense for the Bills to cut Fromm and expose him to waivers. My only other maybe on this roster is will the Bills risk exposing Hodgins to waivers? I like Mackenzie but if Hodgins is playing well why not use him in a similar role? Then again Mac is a proven solid gadget guy who can handle a few plays a game and make an impact which adds a wrinkle to the offense.
  14. There isn't a month that goes by since he passed in late 2011 where I don't think "what would Patrice have thought about this issue" agree or disagree with his take he always had an interesting perspective.
  15. The top corner on the market is making 16.7 million (Darius Slay) and is not quite as good as Tre. I think Tre wants 20 million a year and the Bills want 18 million a year. I think they settle in around 19 million, somewhat team friendly but paying their best player and all around good citizen/culture setter.
  16. If you aren't invested because of the "politics" that will be messaged then honestly why watch a sport comprised of 68% young African American men and be surprised that they want to speak out about the issues they feel are impacting their communities? If you are invested less because of Covid, then I understand. No fans in the stands doesn't bother me personally (been watching the NBA bubble and it isn't any less interesting to me) but I can get people not enjoying it as much. Also while there haven't been a ton of opt outs there is enough to make you think things are a bit off more than usual. The only thing that is making me less invested this season is the possibility of a Covid outbreak on a team messing up the season. I think the NFL should have bubbled up like the NHL and NBA (Make 4 regional bubbles) and this way the chance of an outbreak is far more limited. If I knew that there wasn't a good chance of a Covid outbreak I would be just as invested as ever, right now I am "just" 90% as invested as I would be for a "normal" season. To quote the late great Patrice O'Neal, "they for sure thought the DC Sniper was a white guy... Sniper? That's a white guy crime"
  17. I suspect that Tre's extension will not "kick in" until the 2022 season. By then hopefully the cap bumps back up and things become easier to manager for Tre's deal.
  18. That comeback this past season against the Jets was a big time sign of things to come. Solid defense but a shaky offense to start the game but then a clutch offensive effort after the defense kept the team in a game they should have been down at least 3 scores in.
  19. Injuries would have to be catastrophic for this team to not get to 9 wins in my opinion. The Bears won 8 games last year with Mitch severely regressing and the defense mildly regressing. I think this team which is well coached, strong at all three phases of the game and deep can have a winning record at worst if they sustain a relatively normal amount of injuries.
  20. The point still stands that it wasn't faith in Tyrod that kept them from drafting any of the 2017 QB's.
  21. If they didn't like any of the QB's in the 2017 draft then what options did the Bills have to get a proven veteran that would have been better than Tyrod? Given that they were not sold on the draft class Tyrod for one more year was their best option.
  22. Sports Illustrated was gutted last year. They replaced all their salaried veteran high quality sports reporters who had been there from their print days with cheap freelances who are nothing more than amateur bloggers. SI is a sad husk of its former self.
  23. I guess I took more issue with his statement that the Bills "ignored the QB position" because of Tyrod. When in 2015 they brought in Tyrod to compete for the starting job in a pathetic QB situation. 2016 was the only season that the Bills didn't draft a QB early because they had Tyrod who was coming off of a fine season in his first year starting. And considering in 2016 the Bills only option was a hefty trade up to spots 1 or 2 I don't think it was in the cards anyway. In 2017 the Bills didn't pass on taking a QB because of Tyrod. I have seen that narrative about Tyrod and it just infuriates me because it isn't true at all.
  24. I think Dareus is an example of a player being in the wrong situation. He had some ****head moments on his rookie deal from 2011 to 2014 but he was for the most part not a "lazy" player. But in 2015 he got a huge contract extension (justified by his 2013 Pro-Bowl and 2014 All-Pro years) and Rex was brought in, it also didn't help that Mario Williams was a bad influence all at the same time. By 2017 when McD got here Dareus had developed a bad reputation and habits along with having a hefty contract that insulated him from being cut. I don't see a Buffalo reunion happening with Dareus. I wouldn't hate it if McD feels like it can work (I would trust his judgement) but I feel that with how things went down in 2017 it just isn't going to work.
  25. I don't get this level of dislike for Tyrod. He helped end the drought and led the Bills to their most productive 3 year stretch since the late 1990's (by that point.) He helped produce 8, 7 and 9 win seasons which isn't that great but in the context of a team that had only 2 winning seasons and 1 .500 season the previous 15 seasons is pretty good especially since Rex messed up the defense the first two years Tyrod was here. He Rex regressed one of the top 2-3 defense in the league to just a top 10 defense the drought would have been broken in 2015 behind Tyrod, Shady and a solid defense. After Tyrod led the Bills to a top 10 offense in 2015 in his first year of starting it was the correct call to see what he had in 2016 (Who were the Bills going to take in the 2016 draft anyway, they could have had Dak in the mid rounds instead they took Jones the only other QB's worth anything were Wentz and Goff who went 1 and 2.) He flatlined in 2016 and by 2017 it was clear that Tyrod was what he was a decent lower starting caliber QB. The Bills didn't "ignore" the need for a QB because they had Tyrod it was pretty clear McD viewed Tyrod as a bridge QB from the moment he got here. Tyrod was brought in during 2015 because the Bills had few other options and earned the chance to prove what he had in 2016. The Bills had every chance to draft Mahomes or Watson in 2017 but a new regime saw the 2018 QB draft class as being better and traded down (which made sense for a regime more interested in rebuilding.) The only draft you could logically say that the Bills passed on a QB because they were comfortable with Tyrod was the 2016 draft and their options were limited to either a big time trade up for picks 1 and 2 which the Bills might not have been able to do anyway.
