It isn't a myth. He can pass when he needs to but only sometimes and most of the time misses wife open targets. Biggest stage in a while he had was @ Buffalo and he was lousy. Wide open TD's, etc. That team was better than the Bills. We just played better. Baltimore should have won but Jackson choked. Missed reads, checked down, played hero ball and lost. but he's not a great QB. He may deserve that money but that's because in 3 years it'll be only top 10 money and for that it's just ruining it for the rest of the league.

I don't think any team is going to cough up 3 first round picks based on what we have seen him do on the field the last two years. Maybe the first two years he played when there was heaps of potential and he was improving but he regressed in 2020, didn't pass for 3k yards (QB's should pass!), And just made bad reads behind a really good line. He won't succeed. And it sucks. If he survives the season, starts every game it will be the first time in his career he does so... So I'd not count on it.

The team, including Belichick had just put a contract in Bledsoes hand making him the richest player EVER. and it was only like a 3 yr contract. Their defense was top 3, super efficient with a really good OL. Bledsoe had declined and Belichick was a poor coach / coordinator for him Belichick brought in a half dozen QB's that Monday after Bledsoe got hurt and the team wasn't playing that well. He was quoted as telling colleagues and confidants that he did not thing he would be kept the next season because he wasn't getting anywhere. Belichick decided to switch to a super conservative offense and some say that the FO was unwilling to invest in a QB for Belichick because a new coach was going to get Bledsoe back the next year. So Belichick did what he could to coach defense well, keep mistakes low with a conservative game plan. Brady played very easy ball and was actually not super that first year and for several years. Benford did not get torched. He was playing under coverage for cover 2. Poyer got sucked into the middle on high cover 2 and was not there to be over Kupp and provide a safety to Benford. However, Benford stuttered on Staffords pump fake, but that's a solid move by a vet QB and that's what happens on experience vs. inexperience. I am not going to beat him up over that too badly despite being a few steps out of place and being late to the play. It was a blown play but I am not putting that solely on Benford and putting more on Poyer. He's a vet who should not have been fooled knowing there is a rookie there.

Has there been any information about how they were substituting the two? i noticed Elam would come in situationally but never saw which situations and the factors. Both played well and are good for pairing.
