  1. Our rookie is better than your rookie...Here's to Glenn taking Jones' lunch money!
  2. Roosevelt...Aiken...neither of these guys caught on anywhere else. Aiken showed, albeit preseason 2years ago, an ability to get open and get YAC. Roosevelt also looked like a gamer last year. Obviously we don't know squat, but why not give one of these guys a shot rather than bringing in a sub-par vet or a guy that got cut from the Rams...however, Alexander is a prototypical Channix WR and he's young and fast with some upside.
  3. Actually wouldn't mind doing so. I think this team is finally in a position to make a big draft day move and sign a couple stop gap FA's to plug up a couple leaks.
  4. @buffalobills tweeted that he fully expects for them to run the ball more, doesn't blame them & isn't mad at it. He simply wants to win. His job is to beat his man and make them want to throw it to him.
  5. McKelvin...just throw a ball at him...you win! Keep it more simple with Shepp... Kelvin "The" Sheppard.
  6. The whole thing was preceeded by a complete lack of urgency on the scoring drive...yes, they had to go a long way, but a 6 1/2 minute drive? Really? We get the ball in the 4th with just under 14 minutes on the clock, down 3 scores and they proceed to drive the ball down the field as if were the third quarter. Anyone else with me on this? To me, this was the most frustrating thing in a game filled with frustrating moments.
  7. Mannn...it's the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice...and she ain't blacker than a mutha f**ka
  8. All things are in our favor to make a playoff run this year: 1.) 8 games against ROOKIE QB's (Miami X 2). Then there's Cassel & Bradford. Only 2 legit threats are Brady & Schaub...A.Smith gets a pass as San Fran is a great team, regardless of him. 2.) 10 games against run D's that let up 110ypg or more, including 4 of the 10 worst in the league. 3.) Only 4 games agains 2011-12 playoff teams, which includes the Pats twice & Houston, both of which have terrible Run D. Hopefuly we make it out of San Fran alive, lol.
  9. Yes. 1.) Jets issues @ RT. Drinking the Mario-aide...I see him having a monster game. 2.) Sanchez holds the ball too long & our D Line will be in his face all game...another 6 INT performance? 3.) SJ13 owns "Revis Island" 4.) Fred Ex is due for a monster outing against these guys 2 area's of concern...Run D & Keller lighting up Moats.
  10. He'll take Cromartie's spot as the second best receiver on the team...
  11. K, so I'll attempt to put this in a "plain english" scenario...I play semi pro ball & last year I had a pretty significant groin injury week 2. I missed 4 games (6 weeks with bye's). Even then, it was nagging (a little pain, but mostly tight). No surgery & an offseason helped, but I wasn't 100% until a couple weeks into this season... Post surgery 90% means he's fine & getting stronger, almost to the point where he was prior to any injury at all...and I agree with the Doc, mind game w/ "Mr. Island" cuz we all know SJ13 owns a significant chunk of realestate on the Isle of Revis. Pretty much a dig that he used him last year @ less then 100%
  12. Tebow and Sanchez Put 'em in a body bag Bonzai Miagi
  13. We'll see when Sanchez and Tebow get carted off the field in the first half...God, I hate the Jets!
  14. If Pre Season meant anything at all, I would say your summation is NEARLY spot on. But seems to me you wasted a bunch of keystrokes. Not baggn' on ya, cuz from what I can tell, you have a good "football sense." Just sayn' that it's nearly impossible to get any read on any team from what happens in this 4 week long case of the squirts. The only thing I disagree with you on is your assertion that we want to "pass to set up the run." Only because I billieve that everyone knows what we have at RB and all the games were used to work out Fitz's mechanics he's developing under Lee, as well as the need to figure out who the #2WR is gonna be. I came in expecting pass heavy games, as did everyone I'm sure...
  15. Hopefully every other person that has posted something similar is reading this, so I can say once and for all, that these ridiculous posts are almost infuriating! When will you people (negative nancies & debbie downers) wake the *F up and realize that Pre Season means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! FFS!!
  16. The way I see it is that Carrington must be better & show more of an upside than both of these kids to crack the line up. He's a 3rd year player and he needs to step up his game. If these 2 are as good, and have as much upside as all of the reports, Carrington is on the bubble.
  17. At first I thought Carolina's DB was making a play for the ball with his hand stretched out...but, after watching it a couple times, he was clearly looking at the low "take out" tpe tackle the whole way...IMHO, there is no room for that kind of crap. Watch it again...he's keyed in on the knee/legs the whole way.
  18. You're not alone. I like Aiken...a lot. Reminds me of SJ13, those first couple seasons waiting behind the scene. Potter makes Martin expendable. Who needs coverage when you boot the ball through the endzone every time?
  19. Plenty of arguements can be made for and against Dwan Edwards, or anyone else I listed for that matter. IMHO I don't think Edwards transitions well to a 43 DT and becomes a victim of circumstance. Hopefuly they let him go sone enough to catch on with a 34 team. Also, Carrington has been less than impressive and I like what Heard showed last year (big, young dude with a good upside). *Spencer Johnsons shoulder may let one of the two back into the mix Offense: 24, maybe 25 w/a 7th WR QB: Fitz; Young; Smith RB: Jackson; Spiller; Choice FB: McIntyre WR: Johnson; Haggan; Roosevelt LT: Glenn; Hairston (swing) LG: Levitre; Williams C: Wood; Brown RG: Urbik; Rhineheart RT: Pears TE: Chandler; Smith WR: Graham; Jones; Nelson (I'd like to see them keep 7, maybe Aiken?) *Call me less than impressed with our WR depth. I billieve we address that in 2013, regardless of Graham's pick this year. QB as well. Defense: 25, maybe 24 if we only carry 6 LB's DE: Williams; Gilbert DT: Williams; Johnson DT: Dareus; Heard DE: Anderson; Kelsay; Moore OLB: Barnett; Bradham MLB: Sheppard; McKillop, Carder (I like Carder over McKillop if we go w/6) OLB: Moats; Morrison CB: Williams; Brooks; McKelvin CB: Gillmore; McGee/Rogers (I like Rogers over both McGee & McKelvin. 2 of 3 will make it) FS: Byrd; Howell SS: Wilson; Searcy *LB is another concern and area for improvement in 2013, unless Bradham and Carder stand on their respective heads this year ST: 4, maybe 3 if we release Lyndel and carry 7 WR's or 7 LB's K; Lyndel/Potter P: Moorman LS: Sanborn I highlighted special teamers in green. (KO & KR) PS: 8? No idea hee, best guesses RB: White WR: Aiken TE: Onobun RG: Vermiglio RT: Sanders DE: Eddins (eligibility?) DT: Ross CB: Miller
  20. Fair enough, & a good point. I should have stated, more clearly, that the depth I listed are, iMHO, the top 4 in the running. Keeping 9, even 10, would obviously give a nod to another CB or 2 as 4 is plenty @ FS & SS. If I remember correctly, isn't Searcy a converted corner? If so, that gives some versatility and another option for the Dime, supposing we only keep 9.
  21. How many DB's (CB & S) are usually kept, 8 or 9? CB: 1.) Gillmore 2.) Williams 3.) Brooks 4.) McGee S: 1.) Byrd 2.) Wilson 3.) Searcy 4.) Howell The potential 9th spot would be a toss up for McKelvin & Rogers, however; Though I do share the opinion of McGee (used to love him & now's he's all but washed up) he's still less of a risk/better option than Rogers and McKelvin initially. However, if McGee doesn't cut it I hope it's Brooks on the short list rather than McKelvin. I think Rogers is a long shot this year, unfortunately...even if we keep 9 DB's. There's a big BUT in there though as Chanix has proved, time and again, they do not fear cutting an underperforming vet in favor of a young player with good upside. This scenario bodes well for both Brooks (although I think he's safe anyway) and Rogers if they cut bait on McGee & McKelvin. Prince Miller is still PS eligible, I believe. Man, I would hate to be a coach faced with these decisions.
  22. OK, IMHO FWIW: Carrington - I really liked this kid, but he's not shown anything in camp or either game against the 2's & 3's that warrants a spot on a tight roster. Moore - I hear a ton of praise and how he was making some really great plays while filling for Merrimen and Kelsay when they were out in TC. Heard - With his play last year and the heart and toughness he's showed as of late, it'll be hard not to keep him. Edwards - was, is and always will be a 3-4 DE. The fact that I haven't heard much of his name, at all, while up against the 2's & 3's makes me think he hasn't made a successfull transition to a 4-3 DT. Eddins - Plays hard, tremendous motor, I don't think it's enough, especially @ DE with Moore and Gilbert ahead of him and 3 guys set in stone as well (MW, MA & CK) Johnson - Back to his natural position, at which he's been highly successfull rotating in. Troupe - Cut bait...though injuries contributed to the slow development, only so many chances can be given to a kid to show up. Gilbert - Tough call. I thinks it's he and Moore Gailey was talking about when they released Merrimen in favor of "a couple young guys." So, the real question is, how many DL do they keep? Most 43 teams keep 8, sometimes 9. In our case, it's looking like 9. So, part 2 of the question, do you keep 5 DE's or 5 DT's? I think they keep 5 DE's based on the reasoning above: DT - Williams, Dareus, Johnson & Heard DE - Williams, Anderson, Kelsay, Moore & Gilbert
  23. Good find...prototypical size &, from the write up, is a BEAST... I can't wait to watch this kid this year.
