  1. This is the process, this is the culture change, this is the TEAM that they are building.
  2. The old guard of this board simply doesn't get it.
  3. We really missed Dareus today!
  4. That's Culture Change right there! Team unity!
  5. It's not an end-all but it's certainly a big portion of it. That's what elite DT's do, they disrupt and make a living in opposing offenses backfield. We haven't seen that from Dareus in years. Reminds me of all the Sammy defenders who continue to make excuses for his lack of production. Every year it's a new excuse.
  6. That's ridiculous. Of course it means something, it means a lot. You have double the chances to pick quality starters in the early rounds, now it's up to the GM and his scouting team to make it happen.
  7. Fantastic post. I honestly don't understand how people are not seeing this. How are people not blaming Whaley for some of the really bad decisions he made. It's crazy to me that the Watkins trade to draft him isn't viewed as one of the worst GM moves this organization made in a very long time. We needed a WR, and if he had just stood pat he would have ended up with a better WR and we would have had another first rounder and even more cap room. That draft choice set this team back, big time. The Dareus draft choice is another one. It's more understandable, it was a position of need, but look at the end result. Do i really need to go over all the people that were drafted in the top 10 that year? Or the QB we drafted in the first round that ended up being a bust. To make things worse is that he was a reach with a 2nd round grade. The anger should be there, not for the guy who is cleaning up the mess from the previous GM.
  8. Then it will count against his credibility and the team will be set back. What sort of response were you looking for? This is how GM's are largely judged, by their draft choices.
  9. Here is what we know: A) That McD is a good coach. B) That we have more quality draft picks to build and improve a team than any time in our life time. C) That over the next three years we will be entering into the best salary cap position we've had in Lord knows how long. D) That this team is playing more sound fundamental football than we have in a while. E) That this team seems to have corrected if not greatly improved it's game killing self-inflicted penalties problem. F) Building a team of high character guys who are buying in to the culture change. G) With all that said, and everything to look forward to over the next 3 years, we have a real shot at making the playoffs.
  10. This is where all the decoy arguments fail. And fail they do Uhh, yes we did. $33m in cap savings over the next 3 1/2 years. I'm not sure why many people are leaving this out. Is he worth $33m over the next 3 1/2 years? That's the question everyone should be posing to themselves? When will his production finally speak for himself?
  11. I've watched most of his games and he hasn't been impressive aside from o e game. I've watched him run routes and nothing stands out apart from his stunning lack of production. Yes, there have been times he has gotten open and he wasn't targeted but this happens almost on every single pass play for some WR, where they got open and didn't have the ball thrown to them. The bottom line is if you consistently get open, you'll get the ball. He hasn't been able to consistently get the ball for most of his career. We unloaded about $33 million in cap savings over the next 3 1/2 years on a player that is one strike from being suspended for over half a season, a player that has severely underperformed and a player that doesn't fit the mold of what this organization is trying to do on and off the field. Oh and they got a 5th or 6th rounder for him.
  12. You mean to tell me that McD/Beane dumped an underperforming player who doesn't fit their vision of what a football player should be about??? I'm shocked! This team is being built for the long haul and yet they are still winning in the present.
  13. On a personal level I feel for him. But hey, $h#% happens.
  14. When I say easier, I mean that it is yet another avenue for access. So if the existing way was still in place and you add another form of entrance, it makes it easier. I think whenever anyone mentions anything that could potentially be seen as promoting FB among this demographic will be visceral in nature. Secretly the message board are filled with in-the-closet FB users.
  15. I would think it could only help. Making access easier is a plus.
  16. They've moved the goal posts. It's now: "Goff just isn't good with the long ball. Not only that, do you see how much he opens up the field for the rest of his players? "
  17. I think you'll see more than 7 rookies make the team next year. My guess is between all those draft picks and then those who didn't get drafted we will end up with 9+
  18. He may be overstating it a bit, but I also think you are understating it as well. It is not unreasonable to believe that there may be a chance that the Raiders will be a team we will be competing with for a playoff birth. Defeating them and then possibly getting this tiebreaker against them could end up meaning a lot to this team. So I'd say it is a pretty important game.
  19. Selling yourself to your employer begins day 1. If he had impressed enough from the onset this would have never have been an issue. That's how things work.
  20. Hey!! We agree on something. Yeah, I have to second this sentiment, he had a good eye for talent, but that does not make one GM material. Part of being a good GM is being able to sell your vision to ownership. He was not able to do that.
  21. That's exactly what it was. They didn't value Seymour highly and looked to dump him for something in return. They got a 7th and a wr they hoped maybe could provide some depth. He proved to be ineffective when given an opportunity and they quickly evaluated and moved on
  22. This game is going to be extremely tough. Their offense is beginning to roll and our defense is going through some injuries that we simply cannot afford. I hope Gaines and Poyer are able to suit up and play, if not then I think it's going to be a long afternoon for the defense and the offense will be relied on to put up 30 again to win.
  23. The fraud isn't perpetuated by the carriers but rather from the unscrupulous agents that sell these plans. Typically they are these limited indemnity policies that pay out a fixed about per medical occurrence and are being packaged as these 0 deductible plans that don't deliver the benefits that they claim to have.
