DL and LB groups are more pressing need than QB
Magox replied to Dadonkadonk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've said it a few time, the front 7 is the biggest weakness on this team. I predict next year that we'll see 4 new starters that aren't currently on this team next year in the front 7. -
This is truly a tough one. I don't ever remember a year of so many potentially meaningful QB changes that could occur. Not only are there lots of potentially impactful FA QB's available but also more than a few rookie QB's that could fit that bill. This is truly shaping up to be a wild off season with probably close to a third of the league having new starting QB's at the helm. If I had to guess I would think EIther Cousins Bortles Alex Smith or Baker

ESPN predicts Alex Smith as starting Bills QB in 2018.
Magox replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills were to go this route, which I wouldn't be opposed to, they would still need to draft a QB to mentor behind Smith. He's definitely an upgrade over TT and still most likely has a few good years left. -
Are the Jags a serious threat to win to win the SB this year
Magox replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I think Jags, my initial thought is a burst of laughter. But then after seeing how they've played and the very impressive victories they've had, I certainly COULD see them making a run deep in the playoffs. -
Why are liberals mad about the tax plan???
Magox replied to westerndecline's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The miscalculation that you guys are making is that politically speaking, Deficits don't matter. People say they care about the deficit and national debt but when it comes right down to it, it doesn't largely weigh in on how they vote. People largely vote on their tribalistic instincts. -
Bills do worse in 2nd matchup vs the Patriots
Magox replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except the Dolphins. -
I get the fact that many fans want to be the "grown-ups" about this and just play good physical football. And I largely feel that way in the vast majority of the aspects of my life. However, this in my view is different. I'm not advocating to injure him, I want to see a Bills player absolutely plow him into the dirt, even if that means in doing so when Gronk wasn't looking. These are all men filled with lots of adrenaline and there is a camaraderie developed among one another and part of that is defending your mates. I think something like this if done very early in the game would help set the tone for a physical battle, plus it would put Gronk on notice that maybe more is to come and he better watch his back. I would view this almost in the same light as what we see in baseball. Except this wouldn't be a brush back but an actual plunking of Gronk. It's a sign of Tre's teammates saying, "we got your back". And it should be a one-off.. Then after that, we continue playing good physical football, maybe a little more physical than normal and look to execute. That's the way I'd hope they'd approach it.

Without doubt there will be some money that will create jobs and go to employees, the question is how much. Having said that, this is a good START. -
According to the CBO over 13 million people will drop their health insurance because of this. I don't believe that for a second. I work in this field and the vast majority of people who are buying health insurance is not because of the mandate. They are buying it because they can buy it dirt cheap because of the subsidies. I wonder if CBO will revise how awful their coverage estimates are when a year from now they see that they were woefully off on this projection.

Belichick knows our team better than our own coaches
Magox replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you guys catch that last 15 seconds? He's such an ass, and I know I'll get ripped for saying this but damn. I'd love to have him as our coach. He truly is the best probably of all time. The guy seems to know just about everything related to football. He really is a genius. -

So your argument is that it will create too much growth and that it will create inflationary pressures causing the fed's to increase rates which will then lead to an economic downturn. That could end up happening, and if that did happen they would lower interest rates, the economy would bounce back and it would happen from an even higher baseline with an economy that is better positioned to grow quickly because of this administration's stance on regulations and taxation which of course are pro growth. -

What you are truly saying is that deficits didn't matter when this happened under Obama, but will matter under this administration. Time will tell. -

Most people will see a tax cut, aside from those in high taxed states. Overall the economy will be better for it over the short to mid term. The questions for me primarily are: A) How much hiring will this spur from corporations? I'm guessing a few hundred K jobs a year B) How much of a stimulus will this provide for taxpayers being able to keep more of their money and better tax returns? I think it will provide an OK stimulus. More demand, maybe 50k jobs more a year C) What impacts will this have on the long-term debt and deficits? It will go up even more, that is almost certain. Question is how much and how much closer does this take us to the limit that bond holders will deem as acceptable. But, as some proponents of MMT would argue which to a point they are correct (for now) Deficits don't matter. As long as the Dollar is king and there is no viable alternative, they don't matter. Of course, that can't last forever. At some point it will come crashing down. -
With the cheap shot against Tre'davious white, how should the Bills respond? Should one of the players return the cheap shot back to him? Just play physical against him? Try to hurt him? Or simply just exact revenge by winning? I'm hoping one of the players absolutely levels him right back. I don't care if they get ejected, pick some back up and try to put the hurt on him. What Gronk did was malicious and he deserves to get it right back.

He's a top 3 coach in the NFL. The Seahawks and their fans are lucky to have him.
-
For all the derision that Ducasse receives from fans, he's definitely played a lot better than his supposed reputation. I thought he had good game this past week and some other decent games as well. PFF has him playing average football NFL starting Guard caliber football.

So if we end up 9-7 and lose a tie-breaker...
Magox replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say Cincy first because we were in the driver's seat at one point and we let it slip away. That one to me hurts the most. The Jet's game hurts as well not because we let it get away from us, but just that we came out so flat and unprepared and it began an awful 3 game losing stretch. It was a serious momentum stopper. That's one of the few games that I believe where McD and coaching staff really had their worst performance (along with Saints game). -
He's become stout vs the run and does get some valuable tackles behind the LOS, but his pass pressure has dropped off as the year has progressed. He's a decent complimentary pass rusher but we need a stud on the other bookend.

I'm still trying to figure out which players did we "jettison" that were "great"? Can someone please point out which players fit the category "great" or for that matter just high quality performing?

I wish one of the Bills would have hit Gronk the same way that Lineman slammed Alonzo after the White cheap shot.
