You could go back and second guess virtually every teams decision making process. This team has outperformed everyone's expectations and the player personnel decisions have been a contributing reason to their successes.
-
No, I won't say that. They've been making lots of good decisions and we are 4-2. No one had us doing this well and here we are.
-
The GM and coach seem to be pulling the right levers. There was a lot teeth gnashing over the past couple weeks over Beane not picking up a WR. What did he do? Picked up a player that was a major reason why we won. There also was a lot of hand wringing of Ducasse playing rather than Miller, what does Ducasse do? Plays 2 solid games whereas Miller has been abysmal. Just goes to show you that the peanut gallery and their hot takes don't know football nearly as much as the guys in charge. Thank god.

Micah Hyde: "We were only supposed to win four games all season, right? As I can recall ... someone had us going 4-12. Were 4-2 right now." I was going to say coach Tuesday, but that's not right. He had us going 2-14

The sequence at the end of the 2nd half was truly awful. That cannot happen again.

Maybe because Vlad is playing better than Miller?

Bills may have saved their season today

And the beauty of it is despite Winston playing really well, their skill position players playing well and a good offensive game plan, we still won. There is a lot of character on this team. A very good omen for the future -
To be fair, 2-16 typically aren't odds that you win. I thought we were toast as well. Very impressed with that last drive and the defense coming through with the big turnover. A lot of character onnthat team.

Jordan Matthews Thumb Injury Update: Active vs. TB
Magox replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has already endeared himself with a good portion of the fanbase, the only ones he hasn't won over are the ones who can't quit Sammy. I hope we end up bringing him back next year as the primary alot WR. He's a great teammate and locker room leader that most teams want to have. -
This pretty much falls along my line of thinking. There is a blueprint to the way they want to run this organization and with that a formatted process to attempt to execute it. Doesn't necessarily guarantee success but in my view those that have clear, detailed plans that follow it with formatted processes typically succeed. Never did I get this sort of impression with Whaley. Whaley for me was a guy who had an eye for talent but didn't really have the organizational acumen or for that matter the ability to properly value talent to be successful. We've all talked about the rationale behind the Watkins ad nauseum and where the disconnect lies is his perceived value. Yes, with Watkins in the lineup this offense is better than what it is today, despite his glaring inconsistent play. That's where most of the opponents of the trade seem to be hanging their hat, that with him in the lineup the offense is better. This really isn't what the dispute is about, the dispute is he worth $15m+ a year? That's most likely the minimum amount he would have accepted to stay in Buffalo. Yes, you could have kept franchised him next year but that would have cost lots of money and based on his production he isn't nearly worth that much. Plus you then get a player who could very well sit out preseason and isn't all in and that isn't the sort of players they want to build this team with. They made a calculated decision that he wasn't worth that kind of money and they tried to get as much value as they could out of it. The fact that they got Gaines who has played at a very high level and a 2nd rounder along with lots of cap savings to sign more players next year is looking like a hell of a bargain. The windfall of all these moves was not expected to come about this year, but next year.

Believe it or not, at this stage I'm happier that he's out on the field playing against us rather than Fitzpatrick.

Tre White says he's played "terrible," vows to be better

He's gonna be a force for this team for years to come. Great attitude and I wouldn't be surprised that when Kyle and Zo retire that he will be a locker room leader. -

The players are part of the equation, the scheme is another. It's relevant but not necessarily completely indicative. -
Fairburn: Tyrod Taylor on the Verge of a Breakout Month?

I really hope so. I respect him very much as a man and a leader among men. He's everything character wise that I want in a QB. I'm just not sure that he can be THAT QB. I -
I think I would characterize more like, IF Sammy can find a way to incorporate himself and consistently get open into the passing game, then he may be able to get that sort of contract. And what I'm about to say here isn't directed at you but others. I keep hearing, "Have you watched the games, he's getting open and they aren't throwing him the ball". First of all. bull ****! Secondly, it's not as if you guys are doing an ALL 22 of every snap he's playing to determine he's open or not. You've seen a play here and a play there and have seen that he has gotten open for a few plays. I guarantee you that if you watched 80% of the NFL receivers you will find on average over 4-5 instances that they were able to get open and didn't receive the ball from the QB. Just STOP IT! There was or is no conspiracy from previous and present QB's to not throw him the ball. Sammy has been an erratic football player, some games he's all world, and in most games he's either meh or a non factor. I guarantee you that his play isn't erratic from GAME TO GAME, but more so from PLAY to PLAY. I'm sure that some plays he blows his defender out of the water and other plays he just goes through the motions. Stop making excuses for him, there is no conspiracy against him to not get him the ball. It's a matter of him playing good CONSISTENT football. If he ever wants to become elite, he needs to stop with his self-pity emoji passive aggressive B.S blame game and look in the mirror. He's got the tools to be a Julio Jones, but he hasn't figured out how to produce like a Julio Jones. It all starts in his head.

Rams are doing well record wise. But they are potentially going to be facing a difficult decision over the next few months. As of right now Sammy as on pace for 40 receptions and just under 600 yards, 5-6 TD's for the year. I don't believe he will continue at that pace, it's almost unfathomable that it got to this point. If he ends the season with a very hot streak with lots of explosive plays, receptions and yards then I still believe they will give him a really good contract. Probably not the $16M+ a year that he and his agent I believe envisioned he'd be receiving but probably something north of $13M+ a year. But if he improves slightly from where he is, then I think the Rams will offer him a contract of around $10-$11M a year loaded with incentives and if he doesn't accept, they let him walk.
-
When are the excuses for Sammy's lack of production ever going to end? And to say that he was productive here, is really putting it kindly. Even when he was playing his production was erratic. Some games really good, some games a non factor. His production at some point is going to have to speak for itself.
