  1. Aside from the over 20 yards per reception average, the fact that he's catching 71% of those receptions makes that an amazing feat.
  2. I made a similar comment about a week ago. It's sort of like the ugly vs fat debate. At least the fat dude can lose the weight but the ugly dude will always be ugly. The fact that he can throw it down the field with ease and that is his natural tendency you can always coach him to check down more. The other check down masters, they just can't seem to let it rip down the field. Allen wants to make the plays down the field, he just needs to harness it in some.
  3. I think Foster is the higher quality WR out of the two. I see Foster as a legitimate contender as being the #2 WR on the team for next year. I think if we can go after getting a quality WR via the draft/trade for the #1, and get a decent FA WR to go along with Zay as the #3 and #4, I think we could be looking really good. The emergence of Foster and improved play of Zay I think is going to be a tremendous development for this team moving forward.
  4. What is equally amazing as his cannon arm and his ability to run the ball is his pocket awareness and how he stands in strong. He will just sit there in the pocket and he seems to sense whether or not he's about to get hit to allow him to make the throws that take longer to develop. And on the other hand, he senses when it's about to breakdown on him and he's able to get away and escape the pressure. A light just seemed to switch on after his injury. There is a huge pocket awareness presence difference in J.A pre and post injury. The guy lives to make the big plays!
  5. Here is what I think Beane will attempt to do: A) Try to make a splash trade for a Julio, AB or AJ Green sort of player. if that fails then: B) Go for Golden Tate, Tyrell Williams or Funchess sort of decent tiered WR in FA C) If they are unable to get their elite WR through a trade to do option B and go high in the draft and try to get their preferred WR whoever that may be. (Metcalf, Hollywood brown?) D) If they do get their elite WR through a trade, then they will go after a WR in the draft but somewhere in the 3rd round range.
  6. Just about every time I saw Levi he seemed to always be in good position to make the play. I thought he played extremely well and has earned the right to be the front runner for the position next year. I don't believe we need to try to draft high to try to replace him, just bring in some competition, beef him up a little and continue to coach him and I think he stands a decent chance at being at being a higher tiered starting DB in this league. Another great find from Beane and co. Foster and Wallace appear to be staples of this organization moving forward.
  7. My immediate reaction when we selected Allen over Rosen was a gut punch. Then I began watching videos of all his throws that he made this past season and I immediately noticed that all this inaccurate talk of his passes was nonsense. He wasn't inaccurate as much as he was inconsistent which for me meant that he needed work on his mechanics. What wowed me the most about him aside from his rocket arm was that he was actually very accurate on his 20-30 yard lasers. He always is looking downfield and he is trying to make plays. After watching him I thought to myself that this guy has the potential to be an elite outside the pocket passer in this league. I think he has a very unique skill set and if Daboll can continue to build the offense around that skill set and we get him a good O-line with an additional playmaker or two to compliment Zay and Foster then I think this could be a very high flying offense in the coming years. He truly is one of the most exciting players in this league. I believe he has incredible work ethic, a desire to succeed and the skill set to do some very special things in the league for this team.
  8. Congratulations to Josh Allen. He's going to work his tail off, improve his mechanics, work on his shorter to intermediate throws, watch lots of tape of his mistakes and misreads and go into camp with tons of confidence and no longer will be a wide-eyed rookie. He will make the second year jump in performance. I'm confident of that happening.
  9. He's overpaid by a couple million a year, with that said he does play an important role and teams do game plan around him. WIthout doubt he played a major part in why the Bills went from the bottom of the league last year in Run defense to better than average.
  10. Not sure if he fits the profile of player they are looking for but if you could have him for a 2nd and 4th and possibly a little more then I think you do it. He's a top 3 WR and if he keeps himself in shape he'll probably remain elite for another 4 years or so.
  11. I think Edmund's at best could end up being a decent MLB, he lacks the instincts. But I believe he could end up being an All-Pro OLB. Let him rush the passer, cover TE's, drop back in zone coverage. If you lessen his responsibilities and just allow him to focus on those things he will flourish. MLB is one of those positions that you either have it or you don't and I don't think he has the instincts to be top tier. I hope they truly evaluate him during this off season and address it.
  12. No, it would have not been a "great" catch. It would have been a catch that any decent TE would make with regularity. You can try to hate on Allen all you like but it wont take away from the fact that it was a great pass that you expect your receivers to make. That's how they drew up the play, a high behind the shoulder pass for your 6'5 TE to go up and make and it went right through his hands.
  13. Yes, he does need to make that check down pass more often and I'm sure he will. With that said his natural instinct is to make plays down the field and I would rather have that be the tendency and opposed to what we have been plagued with for years, the putrid habit to go to the check down. There are plenty of things for Allen to improve on and despite all the misinformed takes, accuracy IS NOT the main issue he has. Decision making, knowing when to make a touch pass and when to rifle it and experience is what he needs most along with a constant emphasis on his mechanics. I'm pretty confident he will achieve these things
  14. Newsflash. You have to do step 1 to do step 2. Step 1 has been accomplished now they have to do the more difficult part, choosing the players. Here is a novel idea, how about you wait to Bich and moan until after they made their choices.
  15. Foster definitely touched the ball but it would have been a tough catch to make, however Foster did slightly mistimed his jump and he could have made the catch. I wont blame him for it because it would have been a phenomenal catch. The ball placement was about a foot or two too much to the inside. The Logan play should have been caught and most decent TE's will make that play 8 out of 10 opportunities.
  16. This is going to be one of the most anticipated exciting off seasons that I can remember in a very long time. $100 Million in cap space with 10 draft picks! If managed properly you can address a lot of needs with that.
  17. If we are battling it out for the AFC east next year going into the last week of the season, I will take it.
  18. That's not within the context of the meaning competing that I meant. I said it in various other threads today that they should be competing for the AFC east division next year, anything less is a failure.
  19. They dont need all that to be competitive. With 2 good o-linemen and a WR alone they can compete. They need more than but with that they can compete. Specially if you assume, logically, that you will have a second year improved Allen and Foster
  20. I dont expect we will fill all our needs adequately but enough to compete for the AFC east. At least that's my expectations. I reject the entire premise of whatever it was you were saying.
  21. With who I expect for the FO to pick un FA and the draft.
  22. The main difference being that I believe we have found our franchise QB. If that is indeed the case then the road to consistently competing for the AFC east becomes much easier. And even though money doesnt guarantee that you will be able to get quality players it certainly doesn't hurt and it is the job on the GM to put quality players on the roster.
  23. Next year we compete for the AFC east title. If we aren't then McD and Beane are certainly on the hot seat. It's obvious to me that all along it was a 3 year plan to become truly competitive and from my view we are on track.
  24. I think Foster has a good chance to be a good #2 WR. McKenzie has a shot at being a serviceable #4. Croom has a shot at being an ok #2 TE. We need 2 more WR's a TE and a new starting RB who is quick that can catch the ball well. Along with 3 more O-linemen. We cant get it all in one off season but we can address most of it if Beane does his job effectively.
