  1. Correct! However there was a new variant that now seems to have resonance which you touched on, which is #believeher I don't recall that being a tenant, not that there is some handbook on it but this now seems to be the norm. Believe the accuser. Not sure if you guys caught Kamala Harris today, man she seemed pained in saying "I believe her". It took everything she could muster for those words to come out of her mouth. But now that this is the position that her and the other Senate Judiciary Democrats decided to go with, as a leader which she is vying to be, she has to take a consistent stand. Unless of course you're Trump. Trump has no rules he just does whatever.
  2. The left has created this monster and are now having to suffer the consequences of this movement. The Kavanaugh hearing set such a horrible precedent and I'm not sure there is any turning back from it.
  3. The problem with the Rubio and Bushes is that they are seen as corporate cookie cutter globalist big government Republicans. Sure, they are socially Conservative and they want to cut the fat off some spending programs and they believe in limited government in certain areas but in others not so much. They are seen as Pro War, they are seen as globalists, they are seen corporate shills. These sort of Republicans have troubles in the midwest and the more populist anti globalist better trade deal sort of candidate Trump was able to compete. Trump has rewritten the map and he has shown Republicans a new way and path to electoral victory. Which means the more hawkish globalist corporate Republicans are becoming a thing of the past. This midwest path is buying some more time but inevitably I do think the demographics will pose some problems. But it's a ying yang sort of deal, in one demographic you may lose votes but in other you pick them right up like what we saw this last time around. But if Texas becomes a legitimate purple state, I just don't see how the R's can make that ground back up, unless they somehow turn the midwest from purple to red.
  4. I get that and my argument isn't a position to advocate for higher immigration entrance for low-skilled labor, it's the general tone and demonization of illegal immigrants.
  5. The problem is that both parties have become overly tribalistic. It's truly not about policy positions as much as it about winning and losing. And the most effective way that they have found to win are to draw clear contrasts, pick out a sliver of the opposing position that each irrespective base finds odious and bludgeon them to a pulp with it. What I dislike the most about the Republican party is the tone and prevalent sentiment among the core of the base towards illegal immigration. I absolutely believe that there should be more controls at the border and that illegal immigration is an issue that needs to be resolved. I absolutely believe that the Democrats are playing games by not giving in on the border but again, it's tribalistic politics and this is the way the game is played. Nancy Pelosi has to not give in or she'll lose her base. Unfortunately that's just the way it is. With that said, the anti immigrant bias that I see is problematic for the Republican party. First, it's just wrong. I don't mean to get overly philosophical on this or sound like some sort of hippy but people are people. We essentially are all the same, what separates us are our cultures and upbringing. For the most part people want to do well for themselves and their family and for many illegal immigrants who come to this country they are simply coming over with the best of intentions. Some of you, if you were in their position and you got denied a VISA to come to the U.S, and the country where you reside has limited opportunities and you thought that coming to the U.S could afford more opportunities for you and your family, you may just consider it. I turn on FOX news and they constantly harp on the worst elements, where some illegal immigrant commits some heinous crime. It's not representative of the people that come here illegally. I'M NOT ADVOCATING TO ALLOW THEM TO COME TO THE COUNTRY! What I'm advocating for is a level of empathy and understanding and to stop the demonization of these folks. But I know that is a pipe dream. For a few reasons,: A) As I mentioned earlier, highlighting the worse elements of illegal immigration helps advance the cause for Republicans to win in certain areas. B) The Conservative entertainment hustlers such as Ingraham, Rush, Hannity etc etc make their $$ highlighting these things. They help whip up the base into a frenzy and they carry lots of weight. C) Unfortunately, the conservative entertainment hustlers didn't just create this out of nowhere, there is a willing audience that likes to consume this information. Most of these folks don't have lots of exposure to these folks and it's a simple matter of not understanding each others cultures. Naturally people are fearful of those that they don't know or understand. It's human nature. - Illegal immigration "taking away our jobs" is not an abstract concept. It is very easy to communicate and therefore easy to disseminate and digest. Even though the facts show that illegal immigration does not take away a meaningful amount of jobs. I try to make my case to whoever is willing to listen that the demonization of these humans is something that I think is unfortunate. But that involves a level of empathy and I just don't think there is too much of an appetite for that, unless it involves their teams cause. Just my 2 cents.
  6. What stands out about him is his size and build. He really is well put together. He also seems to move decent for his size, he's not a lumbering sort of a WR. Plus he appears to have very strong hands and good body control, which is a good combination to have. I'm hopeful.
  7. Hate to make this sort of proclamation after a game but if I had to I would say both did poorly. The game plan was awful, they didn't try to run it enough and everything they dialed up Belichek seemed to have an answer for. McVay was outclassed by the master. And Goff just wasn't seeing the field and missed some opportunities and to me he didn't seem willing to stand tall in the pocket enough and take the hits to make a play. He was doing that thing Brady was doing earlier in the year, where he was sort of just bailing while making some throws which clearly were off. No doubt, the offensive line was not able to pass block well enough but there were times when I felt that Goff was feeling the pressure and getting rid of it too quickly.
  8. ummm, Robert Woods is better than Watkins. Unrealized talent is just that, unrealized. Woods has been the better player and I'd venture to guess he will continue to be the better player.
  9. Scotty doesn't think in abstract terms when it comes to football.
  10. Shady has been a very good locker room asset and the Bills won't be in a cash crunch for 2019. Even though he most likely won't play to his contracted value it would be best to keep him around for another year. There are ways to use to him that would benefit the team and having him around to hopefully mentor a drafted RB would pay long-term dividends. Unless the Bills plan on using all their cash which I think is highly unlikely, I don't see why they would look to drop him.
  11. That's not what I've read, what I read from some publications is that there really arent the elite level WR's but a bunch of good 2nd+3rd round prospects.
  12. Oh I know, so would I. I'm just putting on my amateur draft cap on and trying to speculate on outcomes. He is built like Boldin and looks impressive in stature and had good stats and seems to make all sorts of tough catches. I just think there is a chance that he could time slow which on film he doesn't appear to be that fast and that his draft stock could fall, specially considering that there are lots of very intriguing prospects this year. I would love him in the 2nd round, just not so sure that I would be thrilled about him in the first.
  13. I think there is a chance Harry may time in the 4.6's if he decides to run the 40, strengthening the narrative of his inability to separate, similar to that of Boldin. Such a deep WR class could help precipitate that fall. I think he will be a fine pro, I just dont think he will be in the first 20 picks, specially if he times poorly.
  14. That's the thing, I hope that we don't get too caught up with perceived "draft grade". People like to pigeon hole these short slot sort of receivers with mid round sort of grades. The dude is a gamer, he balled out against top competition, he balled out against highly ranked DB's in college, he balled out up against Senior Bowl DB's. He's incredibly twitchy, can separate against anyone, has phenomenal top line speed, I wouldn't be surprised if he times in the low 4.4's possibly high 4.3's . He has great balance and as you stated he isn't some sort of Roscoe Parrish sort of guy to where you can easily wrap him up with an arm tackle, he breaks tackles. Which is why if used properly this guy could be handed off the rock 4-7 times a game on all sort of designed runs and I don't mean just Jet sweeps. If he was with the Patriots or Saints he would touch the ball 15+ times a game, I have no doubt of that. That's why I think the Bills should draft him with their 2nd round pick and if not then look to trade back into the 2nd round to get him. He's going to make a team a very happy camper.
  15. Leydard high on one of my favorites, Isabella. Says he did everything that I had seen from him which is easily separate from anyone covering him. If Bills dont pick him with 2nd round choice, I dont believe he will be there for their 3rd.
  16. That would be a shame. Might not agree on many of his takes but he provided lots of up-to-date Bill's info.
  17. You are adding Matthews to that list? That's nuts, he was never meant to be some superstar pickup, he was meant to fill a hole and part of a throw in for the trade. The value of the Darby pick wasn't in Matthews rather the draft choice picked up. So on that point you fail. In regards to Benjamin, yeah it was a near consensus that it was a good pickup. Everyone seemed to think that we got over on the Panthers. It didn't work out and for that they get a bad grade on their trade. With that said, there is a distinct possibility that Foster could end up being a bonafide starting WR in this league and there is a chance that McKenzie could end up being a contributing WR in this league for some time. If those things occur, considering the draft capital that was used even including the 3rd rounder that we lost out on Benjamin, then the capital that was used to obtain one potential quality starter and one potential contributor means that overall for what they shelled out they got good value. Whereas Whaley completely struck out with the Watkins trade.
  18. Where is 26? Hadn't seen him in a while
  19. Bad at evaluating the position? They made a bad trade for Benjamin who just about everyone thought was a good trade and then they picked used a few late round draft choices and a UDFA to get Foster, who is an extremely promising pickup. I'd say based on the draft capital they have used for wide receivers since Beane has taken over, that is not too bad. Much better than Whaley can say for himself. It's laughable that you seem to think that Watkins was a good draft from Whaley. That is 10 x worse than any wide receiver move Beane has made with this organization. The Watkins trade was one of the worst Bills moves this organization has made over the past decade, that along with the Maybin and Manuel draft choices. And Whaley had his hands on two of those moves.
  20. I get that! But I don't want to reach and would rather get BPA in a position of need as opposed to reaching to fill the most pressing need.
  21. I think that is possible but just because he may have a 3rd or 4th round "grade" doesn't mean its right. I happen to think if he has the capability of being a 100 reception 300-400 yard rusher player. I think he is extremely versatile and could be a feature player on some teams. If I am right with that, then he probably should truly be a first rounder. So, while I agree that he may not go as early as the 2nd round, I would not be opposed to getting him that early because in my view if he's available I wouldn't want to risk losing out on him hoping to nab him in the third. But that's me.
  22. I wouldn't mind having Jacobs with the first round pick and Isabella with the 2nd. I think they are both dynamic players who will instantly upgrade our offense. They are both playmakers.
  23. Isabella my top WR in this years draft shining.
  24. I'm not completely opposed to getting a RB that high in the draft but it certainly isn't something that I'm predisposition to wanting to do. With that said, if a RB is a game-breaking sort of player and is an elite level runner and pass catcher and is the best player available then you do it. I will say this about Jacobs, every time I saw him play I thought he looked awesome. Super quick, a nightmare to tackle in open space, incredible balance and ripped through lots of tackles. Not to mention he was a very good receiving option for them. I think the dude is legit, not Saquon Barkley awesome but possibly close to it.
