  1. Im very happy with the Bills draft, just wish they would have had a chance to scoop one up in the mid to early rounds. But when I look at the Bills draft I’m happy to have just about all the guys they got. Im fairly certain they will pick up quality prospects at both the edge rush position and at WR this coming draft.
  2. Going into last years draft I thought it was a much deeper and talented group of WR’s that people were giving credit. 7 WR’s on that list.
  3. Beane A. Totally revamped the roster with boatloads of cash and draft picks to continue to improve the team McD A. Changed the culture of the team and has got this team playing so well that it’s difficult to beat them Daboll B- Great schemes, each game is unique in that they change their identity for the game. That has its pluses and minuses. His play calling at times isn’t the best Leslie Frazier A- Hard to gauge his impact. I just believe this is McD’s defense and has his footprints all over it Josh Allen B. I would give him a higher grade considering that he never played for a major program and was very raw coming in and has markedly improved his play. He is an absolute gamer and the heart and soul of the offense
  4. Yes, he was definitely top 2 this year and not that far off of being the premier DB in the league. Arguably the most important or second most important position on defense. If Josh Allen becomes who I think he becomes which is a high end clutch QB, the trade with KC is going to look really good.
  5. What's stupid is to criticize arguably the best DB defensive coaching team in the league before they even play the game.
  6. Here is something that was discussed ad nauseum, to this day I still don't get how people didn't view this as a shrewd move.
  7. I love these sort of in-depth articles. I remember reading one about Beane a few years back and after that I was convinced that he was the guy. This article has got lots of nice nuggets and for some of our fans on this board the concepts that are discussed here are too abstract for them to wrap their heads around. I thought this was insightful from Kyle Williams.
  8. I would like to see Sweeney and Duke get the nod over Foster and Lee. I think they both have more of a chance of impacting the game.
  9. Matthew Judon - he would be my top FA target. The Bills need someone to replace Lorenzo Alexander who plays that jack knife sort of role. Can play vs the run, drop back in coverage and rush the passer.
  10. Yep They have been playing “Playoff caliber” football. If they want to beat the better teams then they have to play “Championship caliber” football meaning they have to now play to win and open it up on offense. It’s the only shot they have if they plan on making a run in the playoffs.
  11. Last year the Bills went with more vertical routes which allowed more space for Allen to get some runs. They made a 180 change this year and went more with a possession style offense. Daboll has shown that he can completely change the style of offense throughout the year. i think they will open up the playbook and go more vertical.
  12. I’m going out on a limb and making these predictions. Yeah yeah, I may be wrong about both and get flamed for doing so but it won’t be the first nor the last time I’ve been wrong. I think the Bills match up well against the Texans on both sides of the ball. Josh Allen seems to come up big in prime time games. Josh has faced great defenses over the past 6 weeks which will benefit him going into a relatively weak defensive opponent. They will be playing in a controlled environment with no weather impediments. Josh has progressively been getting better with his deeper passes. McD has changed the motto from Playoff caliber to Championship caliber. To me that signals that in order for that to happen both the offense and defense have to be playing at a higher level meaning they will play more aggressively on offense and unleash Josh Allen in the playoffs. Go Bills!
  13. Google it and for the record I don’t think he will be offered a HC job, he hasn’t accomplished enough as an OC to merit it at this point. But he is on the right path and next year they will be around 24 pts per game.
  14. I've said it a few times, the offense is not that far away from being a top 10 unit. Next year
  15. Whose opinions are you going to value, NFL execs or really smart guys like WEO? And the Panthers. There will be more, I remember reading some articles earlier in the year on how a few other NFL execs thought highly of him.
  16. I hope Daboll doesn't get offered a HC job anywhere this coming year. He's a lot better than some of the opinions thrown out here from the peanut gallery. The offense is not that far away to taking it to the next level and even though there have been some situations that I didn't like his play calling, the offensive structure and type of plays they ran were ones that resembled a good offense. If he happens to stick it out another year I predict next year the Bills will have a top 10 offense.
  17. In retrospect of course it was a bad trade, even though 90% of the board was on board with the move. Kelvin was showing some signs of fading but he was viewed by many as a top tier #2 big target WR. It was Brandon Beane's worst move. I can live with him giving up a third in trying to trade for a young potential quality starter. It just didn't work out.
  18. I give him a solid B. He progressed solidly throughout the year and was well above average when it counted in clutch situations. He just needs to tighten up his mechanics and not be so afraid to turn it over. It's ok to slightly under throw it on the those deep fades when his receiver has at least a step on his man. The receiver totally has the advantage on jump ball situations when he has a step as he is the one looking back and the defender is running for his life and playing the receivers hands as opposed to the ball. I think next year provided we add in another good receiving weapon you will see Josh Allen jump into that top 10 tier QB.
  19. Not every move he has made has been great but on balance he has been one of the best GM’s in the league since he joined the Bills.
  20. Yeah, I think that would be the most likely scenario. Nothing short of an economic catastrophe would have to occur, much greater than the Great Recession. And even during those time periods the US’s dominance with its flight to safety status only strengthens its standing relative to the rest of the world. However it would happen I think we can safely say that there isn’t anything remotely approaching that in the foreseeable future.
  21. This, unsurprisingly has been an underreported intended effect of the tax cut law. This is trillion dollars of potential stimulus, money that wouldn’t have come back to the US without some incentive to do so. I’m sure most of it hasn’t been applied in a manner that has been stimulative but certainly some of it has. Not to mention the revenues that it created at the 15.5% that it generated. This is why I believe that those who believed that the tax law would just be a short-lived sugar high as Krugman and Zandi have claimed have it all wrong. The tax cut is an ongoing form of stimuli and just because a company in year one or two have decided to not implement xyz measures that promote growth for their company and the economy doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t do so In the future. The economic numbers continue to confound many economists. Why? Because they are too dogmatic with their views and cannot wrap their heads around why targeted tax cuts, smart deregulatory measures, policies that promote people to work as opposed to living off of safety net measures in perpetuity and a pro business agenda actually are contributing to a these cascading effects that we are witnessing.
  22. Congrats on your book! The problem with dogmas is that when you are beholden to a certain belief it completely makes you oblivious to everything outside of that view. You become beholden to that belief and no matter what the data says even though that data may run counter to your belief they either are ignored or explained away in a matter that dismisses what had just transpired. I remember there was a debate regarding austerity on this board and it wasn’t all that long ago when a number of European countries that were embarking on these initiatives specially the eastern block ones. Krugman was fixated on this and believed it was going to lead to depression sort of results for these countries. Despite all his hand wringing and dire warnings, they never transpired and in fact led to a more stable sustainable environment that led to good growth levels. He has actually been wrong quite often.
  23. There are probably a number of possible scenarios where this could happen but I just don’t see any on the horizon. I actually used to talk about these potential scenarios and what I believed would have to happen for that to occur. China would have played a large role in that but the more I see China the less I am convinced that will happen. The question that keeps coming to me is when the ***** hits the fan, where will everyone park their money? And I just don’t see anything that even comes close to the viability of US treasuries. Until there is another viable option, the US can continue to get away with what it has been doing. I could be wrong, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time. Who is your uncle?
