  1. There are different kinds of “all-in” approaches. I will give it a stab of what a Beane all-in would look from this juncture. To be clear I believe we already made our all-in choice with the Diggs trade. He instantly changes this offense for the better. Defensive end - With the Addison move, we now have two quality pass rushers at that position and quality depth behind them. I don’t foresee any splash moves there. Defensive tackle - With the moves they have made and Phillips returning and with the expected improvement from Oliver I don’t see anything there. Linebackers - considering we have Milano and Edmunds and the off season moves we have made I don’t expect any big moves there. DB’s - We already have good players here, just a little added depth is needed. QB - nothing here needed WR’s - we already made our move with Diggs Fullback- I don’t think there is a such thing as a splash FB move. But an upgrade is possible Tight end- With Kroft emerging and Sweeney showing promise and the restructuring of Kroft who I believe they want to give a true opportunity I don’t believe this is a likely area that they look to make a splash move. Not out of the realm of possibility but not a likelihood. Offensive Line - This could be an area where the Bills make a move for a higher end lineman. So I think this position is a candidate. Runningback- This would be an area that they could make a splash move even though I think the draft is where they go. in short, I think the Bills are looking really good going into the season provided Allen continues his upward trajectory. If they do make a splash move from here I think it would be an offensive lineman.
  2. Yes, I agree with that....Well, that Addison and Hughes will be the Edge Rushers...But I don't see them cutting Murphy to save money...It's better to have the depth if you don't have to cut the player...So I don't see them shedding talent for salary cap purposes because there is no need for them to cut him due to that this year.
  3. Possibly but I don't think so. I think Jefferson will be utilized in a much more hybrid role. He is not a true edge rusher and I do not foresee him playing as an edge rusher on pass rushing packages but more so in the interior.
  4. Good special teamer who on spot duty can make a play or two. Good signing.
  5. Sure there is. First off we should have beaten them at their home. Secondly they lost their best player on the team, arguably a top 3 Receiver in the league. Thirdly, we gained a top 10 WR. Put that all together and you can logically make the case that the Bills are the better team.
  6. No I would expect a few more lower tiered depth special teams players. And that they would leave some in reserves just in case a higher tiered one that makes sense becomes available.
  7. Bills aren't cutting Murphy until they find another edge rusher that they believe can outplay him. Period.
  8. This defensive line is going to have a lot of Mean ‘ N ‘ Nasty written all over it. It’s becoming evidently clear that the FO recognizes the importance of having a physical presence in the trenches. I suspect the Bills will look to add another O lineman and D lineman in the draft. Along with a RECIEVER.
  9. All trades are inherently risky. With that said there are quite a few differences and perspectives to consider. 1) The Bills traded 2 first round picks for Watkins whereas this trade involved only one. That on its own makes it considerably less risky. 2) Although Sammy was viewed as a top end WR prospect he was an unproven NFL player, whereas Diggs is a certified Proven Top 10 RECIEVER in the NFL. 3) Whenever you draft a player especially a first round player there is always a risk involved whether or not you select a player who will end up living up to the draft pick. I find it to be a much less risky proposition to have Diggs than whoever the Bills would have selected at 18-22. For those that are comparing this trade to Hopkins as if that should have been the standard are being unreasonable and foolish. What the Texans did was egregious and that in no way shape or form should be viewed as any sort of a baseline. Diggs for a first round pick at the age 26 at only 11 million a year is a really good deal, specially when you consider that the thinking is that the Bills are only a few pieces away. Also the other frame of thinking is that the Bills are in their “window” of opportunity and their best chance at winning a Super Bowl will be over the next 3 years when Josh Allen is in his rookie contract. So the idea is to go for it now. Best to trade that first rounder for a proven legit #1 pick. It pretty much all hinges on Allen’s growth if he continues to develop which I believe he will. If he continues the growth we have seen then this will end up being a home run.
  10. Bills are determined to stop the run!
  11. Well, he has had 39 sacks in the past 4 years. Consistent pass rushers don’t come cheap
  12. Not that this is determinative of what sort of player that he will become but I do think it points to that he isn't a quick twitch sort of an athlete that will be able to explode in and out of breaks. With that said, from everything that I've seen from him I never thought that to begin with, he seems more like a silky smooth, long striding technician. His top end speed is good enough to be a deep threat and even though he isn't much of a jumper, his height automatically gives him an edge on some jump ball opportunities. I think this workout ends up being a net plus for him.
  13. That is a really good deal for Buffalo
  14. I think that's what a lot of people aren't taking into consideration. It's not as if Star and Reader would be bound to play together over the next few years. The time of reckoning for the Bills where they will have to make some more difficult roster decisions will be when it's time to structure a new deal for Josh Allen. The Bills have some time between now and then for that to happen and the Bills are not in any sort of a cap crunch. So while I agree with Logic that is a lot of money to tie up in the DT position, that doesn't necessarily mean it is tied up for the long-term. My guess is that they would view Reader as a potential clear upgrade, those two could play together for a year or two and then they'd look to move on from Star.
  15. I highly doubt that they are giving him a $6m a year contract that could go to $8m a year with the intention that he will be a “backup” DB. Thats not to say that he will be the starter but reason does stand under scrutiny that they are offering that contract to play arguably one of the most important positions as a starter. No front office will always get it right but I think they have earned the right when it comes to picking good players at the DB position.
  16. He’s familiar with the system has played at a high level under this system He played poorly the past two years playing more man-to-man which is not his forte More often than not McD brings out the best in DB’s He is only 32 years old, not injury prone (fingers crossed) so he should still be able to play a physically high level on this 1 year deal. The Bills were not going to spend cash to cap, they have the money and it won’t alter their FA strategy
  17. I'm totally down with this. Would give the Bills one of the best interior Defensive Line's in the NFL and shore up the Run Defense which would allow all sorts of flexibility from a scheming perspective. They would still have plenty of money to go for an upper tier Edge Rusher in FA and could get another one in the first few rounds. Don't sleep on Darryl Johnson either, I think Beane and McDermott are very high on his future and if he can continue to develop he could end up having a very significant role in 2020.
  18. That's a whole lot of WR's they've talked to....Hard to extrapolate what they are going to do aside from choose a WR somewhere in the draft but if I had to take a guess there may be a decent chance they will select a couple.
  19. From my observations I think it’s fair to say that QB’s typically make their biggest growth development from year one to two. They finally get one year under their belt, they come into the second season as the unquestioned starter and that invaluable experience. Josh I believe will experience similar levels of growth from year to two for a variety of reasons. One, being that he truly was a raw product coming in and much of his growth that he has experienced has been his improved mechanics and basic decision making. The main reason why he was still playing at a competitive level during his rookie year was due to his will to win games and sheer raw talent. This past year he reigned some of that in but he played smarter football. There is a very specific focus this offseason and that is to improve his deep pass. Josh by all accounts is someone who is extremely self-motivated to improve and I suspect that he will. When you have someone as competitive, intelligent, willing to learn and o what it takes couples with his elite level raw talent then that usually portends to continued improvement. i would be shocked if he didn’t.
  20. You may end up being right but I do believe the Bills want to go after a top tier Edge Rusher. So I do think they will not simply do their due diligence in inquiring but be in the hunt with competitive offers to obtain one...If not, then I strongly suspect they will get someone that is in the next tier down....I think it's a major priority for them to land one.
  21. It's logically undeniable. Cordy is a decent player when he's healthy. Not great but decent. And there are lots of games where he isn't healthy. Meaning, he's not someone you can count on. The only way this would make sense is if he was available on the cheap. Like, CHEAP.
  22. Ruggs or Shenault. I'd be ecstatic with either one, they are both the best YAC, take it to the house from anywhere on the field prospects in this years draft. That's what we need.
  23. This isn’t just an empty answer on Star L. it’s what he and McDermott believe. They have earned the right by having a top 3 defense to make these judgements despite what some from the peanut gallery have to say. ”It gives us a little money to use elsewhere. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. I'm probably his biggest defender out there and will continue to be... he eats blockers and helps our run defense. He got some guaranteed money that protected him and he gave us something back in return.”
  24. For sure and that is definitely a huge consideration. I was speaking purely from a player standpoint. I think Golladay is not only the better player at this time but that he is clearly ascending and does not appear to have hit his ceiling.
  25. He’s had more total yards, more yards per reception by a lot, more touchdowns, they are about the same speed and he’s considerably taller and stronger. And he achieved this in his second and third year in the league. He clearly has been ascending, whereas Diggs has had 3 pretty good years in a row but no clear ascension. Dont get me wrong Diggs is a quality number 1 Wr and I would love to have him but if I had to choose between the two I would choose Golladay
