  1. Actually it’s up to the doctors and patients via off label prescribing. But hey, why let facts get in the way of a good narrative
  2. It barred anyone who had been in China over the previous 14 days, except U.S citizens. You can downplay it all you want, but Dr. Fauci claimed that the China travel ban absolutely made a difference. You can't pick and choose the facts you dislike. Thankfully the candidate you wanted, Biden wasn't in charge or else we'd have been much worse off.
  3. That's not to be understated. @ALF If you are being reasonable about this, then you have to acknowledge that was a major move that saved lots of lives.
  4. I think there is enough data out there to understand that this is not like the flu. However, here is what I believe that the final numbers will end up telling us. For those with no health afflictions under the age of 60, it will be about the same as the flu. For those under the age of 19, it will be more benign than the flu. For those with health afflictions under the age of 60, it will be slightly more deadly than the flu. For those with health afflictions over the age of 60, it will be considerably more deadly than the flu. For those with no health afflictions over the age of 60, it will be slightly more deadly than the flu. I think when all is said and done, the overall mortality rate will be somewhere between .25%-.5% Aside from there being what I believe about a X 3 to X 5 higher mortality rate, what makes this disease especially insidious is the rate of contagion. It seems to be highly contagious, which I think we will soon find out that many more people were infected that were asymptomatic than what was previously thought. Which would lower the mortality rates. I could be way off, but base off of everything that I have seen, the studies that I have looked at and the known infections etc, this is about where I think it will generally be.
  5. The way Navarro handled the trade deals and everything else I have seen from him impresses the hell out of me. Very valuable asset to the administration
  6. Not surprising, it’s the most populous area of the state. What are you seeing? In regards to traffic and restaurants etc?
  7. Could South Carolina breakout? Sure But I don’t think it’s likely. 98% of the cases in the US have been in the urban areas. There has been one breakout in Idaho that has been bad on a per Capita basis but it’s still a small number in the whole scheme of things and it’s showing signs of getting under control. Rural areas have huge advantages for breakout mitigation efforts. The obvious advantage is that there is low population density not to mention contact tracing is infinitely easier in rural areas than high density population zones. Outside of Spartanburg, Greenville, Columbia and Charleston SC is largely rural. And those aren’t that high density areas either. And even though there is a large African American older population who have poor health which puts them at a higher risk level, I just don’t see there being a state wide outbreak. There could be a community or two but even if that occurs it’s still going to be a minuscule number in comparison to the larger states. I could be way off but I just don’t see it Also, I want to say this. There seems to be this perception which is propagated by the media that the states that don’t have these statewide shut downs that everyone There that people are just going about life like usual. That’s nonsense. This is the #1 Story on the planet, they are well aware of what is going on and people are largely practicing social distancing actions. I just don’t see any really high numbers coming out of these 10 states.
  8. If this isn’t definitive proof of yet another example of the failures of US journalism. It’s sad. It truly is sad.
  9. And every single one of those 10 states are not showing a hint of breaking out. Again, national media hysteria. They could break out, but there is no evidence of it. I don’t blame JRober, he just listens to what the media says and does what most people do which is accept it. Sometimes there has to be some additional research and a slight bit of critical thinking to come to a more accurate conclusion. This why the media is so destructive, they know that most people are like JRober, tibs and transplant. People who will by default accept what they are feeding them
  10. Florida being slow is a national media misnomer. I live in Florida and South Florida Dade and Broward county which accounts for 60% of the cases has been on lock down for nearly 3 weeks now. Orlando and Tampa who are the next most populous areas has been on lockdown for over 2 weeks now. Disney world has been shutdown for nearly a month. I live in Brevard county, we didn't have a lock down and the people of our county haven't been going out hardly at all. So, this is just a national media creation, they know De Santis is the governor of Florida, it's an election year... I could be wrong and maybe Florida is going to get "destroyed"...But there is no evidence of that yet. Considering Florida was one of the first 6 states to have a resident with "community" infection and with all the migration coming from New York, they have done much better than most of the country with deaths relative to their population on a per capita basis. You can see that right here.
  11. Ohhhh Thats the prediction. I think we may come up just a bit short of that
  12. I think it will. But most of the loan applications to my understanding are coming from existing customers and people looking for loans who aren't customers are being somewhat shut out...Not entirely but being placed on the back of the list. It's the natural progression of it but I would be very surprised if the money didn't dry up within the next few weeks. That's why they need to add more funds to it ASAP.
  13. Do you think he brought up the virus from Luhan?
  14. I know people like to throw TDS around as if it's a joke or something. But it's real. It truly is real.
  15. Soooo. Trump was right when he said that he didn't believe that Cuomo would need 40k ventilators? You know, the 40k ventilators that the media incessantly hammered Trump over for not somehow magically pulling it out of his ass? Those 40k ventilators?
  16. PPP applications for BOA are booming! Just think of that for a second. They have already received 177k applications and that was as of Monday early morning EST time. Clearly not all of the $32.6 Billion will be approved and it will certainly be interesting to see how much of that gets approved. But the idea that in less than 2 full business days, one single Bank alone could potentially already have close to 10% of the Small Business Relief Bill portion doled out. The other major banks will soon be getting in along with the small business lenders. This is potentially very good news and it's very likely that the entire $350 Billion they have allotted for this will run out within weeks. They should look to increase that ASAP.
  17. This is Insane! James Bullard clearly understands the economy more so than anyone here. But this is insane. How does he not see that this is nearly impossible to achieve from a logistical standpoint?? We are going to test everyone EVERY DAY??? Does he not know that this is not realistic? And the very idea that there is a system of people wearing badges is beyond bizarre. I hear that Germany is considering doing something similar. We all hear about the arguments on how minorities can't even get a photo ID to go vote, JUST FOR ONE SIMPLE FUNCTION, to vote. But we are going to expect everyone, minorities included to go find testing centers or whatever mechanism they have in mind to get tested every single day?? Where does this badge come from? Does it get revoked when you test positive? Do you have to go somewhere to get it? Do you print it? This is beyond ludicrous. I hope for the life of me that this IS NOT PART OF THE PLAN.
  18. Sorry man, but he has answered your points and you have yet to address one single point of his. You are losing this argument. Badly
  19. Two takeaways from Cuomo's briefer today. A) Not one single New Yorker has died from a lack of not having a ventilator. B) Anecdotally, Cuomo is hearing a lot of New York Doctors saying that the Anti Malarial drug that Trump has been talking about is working...So much so that he is going to ask Trump to send him more. These are two major points that the media loves to hound this administration about and Cuomo himself made these comments today. God, the media sucks so bad.
  20. The information is Public and if you search hard enough you can come to a reasonable conclusion if you are willing to be reasonable. I have one single article with verified sourced data that pretty much encapsulates this absurdly ignorant Argument: ——————————————————————————— Although concerns over coronavirus and its ramifications didn't manifest until March in the U.S., U.S. governors were briefed February 9 at the National Governors Association Winter Meeting by members of Donald Trump's coronavirus task force on the growing threat of the respiratory virus. The celebrations across the state, and specifically in New Orleans, sparked a major outbreak in Louisiana, leading it to become the fourth deadliest state in the nation with 370 deaths as of Sunday. Centers for Disease Control Director Robert Redfield and the government's top immunologist and infectious diseases expert Anthony Fauci revealed the threats of coronavirus to governors in early February. The NGA meeting was hosted by Chairman and Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, and attended by more than half of the nation's state leaders. Hogan said Redfield and Fauci's statements were alarming to several governors at the time. 'The doctors and the scientists, they were telling us then exactly what they are saying now,' Hogan, a Republican, told The Washington Post in an article published Saturday. ———————————————————————————— You can read that article here https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8189775/Louisiana-governor-claims-no-idea-New-Orleans-Mardi-Gras-trigger-coronavirus-outbreak.html?ito=social-facebook So let’s look at what that article says. It says that the governors were briefed, that the seriousness of the potential dangers were communicated to them. They are the governors of their own states, they were warned by the CDC and Dr Fauci. Yet they didn’t act on it until mid March. I’m not bringing this up to blame them, I’m bringing it up because everything happened so fast and for them to close down their states or take mitigation efforts when there was t a single case of community spread was an unfathomable idea. you see, reasonable people can understand that this wasn’t their fault or the presidents. Reasonable people can view this and understand that China covered it up and shared knowing false data on the disease. Reasonable people would all want to not point fingers at our own government and citizens and hope for the best. One last thing. What is a metric that would show how we are weathering this? I would say the mortality rate is an important one because it shows how well the hospitals and medical system is handling the crisis. And the other one would be the net ratio of deaths per million citizens. That shows how many people are dying per million people within each country. This stat shows how well the population is being protected or not being protected relative to our peers. Relative to Europe, aside from A couple of the Nordic countries and Germany the U.S has a better mortality rate and deaths per million and the US is not that far from Germany. The US is doing much better than France, UK, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. You can view that data here https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ And that’s mainly because of the decision to ban the China travel which both Biden and Bernie were both against. Dr Fauci has said that decision was a hugely important one. It’s funny how the media glosses over that very important fact.
  21. There are pages and pages and pages of sourced arguments if you take the time to look through. If you don’t see that the fault lies squarely on China and that the Trump administration is not nearly as much to blame as the mainstream outlets make it out to be then there is no point continuing on. The arguments are there to read in this forum and many of them are publicly documented and sourced. What the media does is they do hatchet jobs, they report bits and pieces of their truth while omitting pertinent facts and often times report their inklings of their truth without context. Here is the deal, virtually every government in the Western Hemisphere was caught off guard. So was dr Fauci. So was WHO. So was all of Europe. Why? Because as both Dr Birx and Dr Fauci have both said, they got incomplete data from China. Dr Fauci has said on numerous occasions that the Trump administration has followed pretty much everything he has suggested. Dr Fauci has said that the testing system we had in place was not setup for this sort of pandemic disease. Anyone who is putting the blame mainly on the Trump administration is either ignorant to the facts, duped by the media who clearly have an agenda against the president or simply a partisan. The anger should be squarely on the Chinese. They friggen covered it up for 3 weeks. Not only did they cover it up for 3 weeks but they have distorted the data coming out of Wuhan. Why is that important because now the US and Europe were basing everything off of faulty data which screws up their modeling. Your anger is 100% misdirected
  22. Why bother? its clear to anyone who doesn’t have an agenda and is informed on the matter that China is to blame and the entire Western Hemisphere was caught off guard. I don’t blame transplant, he’s just one of many who only parrot what they read from mainstream outlets. It’s the media and their incessant desire to undermine this administration and actively go out of their way to erode public trust. unfortunately for them the media’s influence isn’t what it used to be.
  23. The revisionist history on Sammy Watkins around here is nothing short of delusional. There is this perception of how good he is and then there is the reality of his on the field production. The reality is that over the past 4 years has been an average receiver in this league who has been plagued with inconsistent play and injuries, who once in a long while can muster up a string of 2-3 good games in a row. The perception of him is that he is this “very good NFL” wide receiver. Grant it, that opinion of him has gradually diminished over the years but what is the basis? It certainly isn’t his production. What is the relative scale they are looking at? The dude absolutely will disappear for several games at a time. That’s a fact, an undeniable one at that. Because when someone states that a player is “very good” then to me that implies at the very least top 10 in the league. There is no reasonable objective metric where you can argue that Watkins is an even top 30 WR in this league over the past 4 years. With that said, no big deal of Gilmore “liking” a tweet from a fan. Making a mountain out of a molehill but I’m sure Diggs will remember it. Gilmore was always a good to very good DB with the Bills and he took it to the next level with the Patriots. He deserves all the accolades in the world. The reason why he wasn’t beloved here is because he comes across as aloof. And when you have a losing organization such as the Bills, fans don’t like players who don’t endear themselves with the fan base. They want passion. Not saying that was right or wrong but it is what it is.
