QB missing open receivers, drops, … the list can go on. It’s amazing how far the offense has fallen in two years.

I know, right? It’s bad enough that they have to keep them in but then they miss their blocks anyway, 😂. Better off just sending them out.

I think this is deceptive. They are keeping TEs and RBs in to help block or at least chip on their way out so the protection is better but there are fewer receiving options. The other team double teams Diggs so they need other options to go to if they’re going to be consistent.

This is a core problem. The Bills do run it more and have been better at it than last season, but not so much that teams come out of their pass defenses.

Honestly, there are so many things wrong that formation seems like the least of it. I would probably start with: - lack of big plays - pre snap penalties - OL getting steamrolled

Not good. He’s sounding like Chan Gailey… I suspect the last thing the players want to hear when things are off the rails is that the coach has no idea how to fix it.

It would have been a very close, ticky tack call that had absolutely nothing to do with the play. Is that what we’re crying about now? How about making a tackle?

They had 3 points at halftime. So the D is playing from behind the entire game.

Ok, but the D has 4 key starters out; 5, if you count Miller. It would be nice if they could rely on the offense to help them a little. Especially since it’s supposed to be one of the best in the league led by an “elite” QB. Instead they come out flat as a pancake and force the team to play from behind all day. Do you think Jones would look a little different if he was playing from behind?

Phillips and Ford have been very disappointing. Settle was disappointing last season. Now I’ve come to terms with him sucking.

Dominant DTs are just not available on the dumpster pile. The Bills DL HAS to win the LOS. They don’t have the CBs to play a lot of man coverage so they can’t consistently play the run with numbers or blitz.

Mahomes has Andy Reid. Allen has Dorsey.

What’s hardest for me to swallow is that for the last few years the Bills rarely find a way to win these close games. They eked it out vs the Giants last week, but that seems to be an anomaly.

They were even worse last week operating mostly out of 13.

The refs inexplicably take these games over in the last 4 minutes, but they’re not the reason the Bills lost today.

When are the Bills going to win a close game?

From a time when game was played by legends who were bigger than the NFL. Dick Butkis was a titan from football mythology.

It’s not the end of the world, but ideally he’d be blocking on running plays. Obviously if the play is wide to his side, but also for plays to the middle or even the other side of the field. He should be looking for a deep safety or other downfield player in case the run breaks. WRs blocking downfield are often the difference between a long run and a long TD.

I assume this question is coming from musing about how the Bills D might play Miami and Tyreek Hill. Yes, NFL defenses will sometimes lock a premier CB (say Darell Revis) on the opponent’s best WR and play man /zone with the rest depending on the call. But who could the Bills possibly put on Hill that would have any hope of staying with him 1v1? Honestly, that goes for Waddle as well. Belichick, as mentioned above, is well know for putting his best CB on the opponent’s second best WR and then bracketing the best one with two players. But the bills have never done this, as far as I’m aware, so I’d be expecting a variety of zones on Sunday.

I’ve literally never seen that stopped for less than a yard since teams started pushing the QB from behind. I don’t see a reason to call anything else until they change the rules honestly
