Agree with this. I think Whaley has done a good job personnel wise but his relationship with the HCs has been very sketchy despite all the public BS about working together well. It seems like he kisses up to the owners and throws the HC under the bus for all the teams issues. That's not good leadership.
It has nothing to do with smarts, IMO. To play Rex's defense, you need a "lock down" cornerback and the Bills don't have one. I'm not saying that Gilmore is bad, far from it. But he is not elite, which is what is required.
Lol. This thread is good. It sums up my attitude as well.
What happens to Schefters credibility if Rex isn't fired after today's game? Nothing right? That's the problem. Maybe if there were some real consequences they would be more careful about throwing around speculative reports concerning people's jobs.
Lol. Close enough if it helps your case.
But in any event let's see what works out first: the Jets drafting a QB every year or the Bills do it once every 3.
Also, reports that Marrone is the favorite to be the next head coach...
I'll believe it when it happens. I think the Bills will win these next three games and Ryan will return. That's my prediction.
Because the team has stopped playing 8 man fronts or blitzing. They are putting more players in coverage to help the DBs and are hoping that with Dareus back they can hold up vs the run without 8 up front and pressure the QB without blitzing. This has made it easier to handle the pass rush in general, hence the "disappearance" of Hughes and Alexander.
I think Whaley's done a pretty solid job myself, but like Nix, all will be judged by his ability (or not) to find a franchise QB. Don't have one yet.
BTW- The Bills won 6 games in 2013, not 9.
