  1. It's normally a smaller percentage.... last year was an aberration. I've been a retired/disabled vet for over 5 years and so yeah you get used to really paying attention to it!
  2. Payne is the heart of that line and got paid as such... combined with a healthy Chase Young it will be a tough test for the OL.
  3. The weather is cooperating as well... looks to be little rain after kickoff! Have fun!
  4. Well, time to revisit my notes before the TOSU/ND game: McCord has looked pretty cool under pressure, so this will be a huge test whether or not this carries over once he gets top level rushes in his face. He's definitely looking more Burrow-like which is a positive. McCord played like Joe Burrow in the end, that same sort of cold calculated delivery, and what a time to do it. He proved a lot last night. - The offensive staff needs to do a better job in allowing McCord to spread the defense out in their playcalling... far too much short stuff which can be dangerous. Finally we saw what can happen when Day allows McCord to sling it, and boy did he sling it when we needed it! Could Day have been holding things back for this game? Interesting thought. - Is it me or are the RBs not much of a speed threat outside and are very north-south oriented? I don't think that Notre Dame will be too worried about covering outside runs, which could be an issue. Although it wasn't an issue, the RBs still are playing north-south and not too many plays went outside for the backs. Honestly the emergence of Chip Trayanum was exciting- he plays with juice and more quickness, which is a dynamic that needed. He could be special. - The defense has played great and has been quite sharp, which is VERY encouraging. If the offense has long stretches of little production, the defense could be huge factor in keeping it close enough to pull out a victory. Well, the defense did its job in pass defense, but the run defense was not good... far too many runs by all of the ND backs which could have been catastrophic but fortunately Hartman wasn't up to the challenge.
  5. Everyone is talking about the 10 men on the field blunder, but NOBODY is talking about the screen pass on second down by ND... had they just run the ball instead of passing to run clock, TOSU wouldn't have had enough time to win that game. ND was literally running the ball down our throats in many instances. That one play cost them the game long before the last few seconds.
  6. TYLER BASS. He will come up HUGE in preserving an ugly win.
  7. Eric Moulds would have been a Hall of Fame receiver if he played with Brady or Manning. Moulds is my #1 choice after Butch Byrd.
  8. The 49ers and Buffaloes have basically funded my entire first three weeks of football, so looking for a bet this week in CFB it HAS to be Notre Dame +3.5. I don't think that McCord is ready for their defense and the Buckeyes running game doesn't impress me at all. Look for Notre Dame +3.5
  9. People who complain about taxes usually have more than enough money to survive and aren't hurting in the least. What gets me is the very same people that do usually support people that allow wealthy people to AVOID paying their fair share of taxes, unless it is a professional sports team owner, then suddenly it's an outrage the public has to fund a stadium.
  10. The Chargers HAVE ALWAYS had good teams and nothing beyond that. Greatness eludes them and I believe that it has a lot to do with the Spanos family. They have won several division titles over the years under two GMs, Bobby Beathard and A. J. Smith., but beyond those two they have won zero championships despite having talented teams. Their coaching hires have been terrible for the most part, and of course they unceremoniously fired Marty Schottenheimer after a 14-2 season and losing to the PATRIOTS of all teams in the playoffs. Dean Spanos, like his father, blunders through seasons gathering pieces but never using them properly. It's abysmal. Herbert isn't the problem, the Spanos family is...
  11. Enberg at 1pm and Charlie Jones at 4:15pm were the two best at their craft on Sundays, that's for sure... you ALWAYS knew it was a West Coast game when Charlie Jones was speaking.
  12. Agree to disagree on the first part! No doubt...
  13. LMAO Umm I think I will be OK, considering I have been a part of TBD since the first year and not many people are left who can say that. I am not NJSue (RIP) 😁 You said after this year, and then backtracked. TWO years I would agree with you, but not just after one year with four conference losses.
  14. That's two terrible takes you have had... so now we are to believe that Colorado will lose FOUR GAMES (according to you!) and THEN he will suddenly leave Colorado and get paid a ton by Texas A&M? For losing 4 conference games on a massive losing streak? Just say you dislike Deion and get it over with.
  15. NO.... Out of control was the hit on Logan Thomas by Kareem Jackson in the Commanders-Broncos game. THAT is the true definition of "out of control", not what happened between Adams and Rapp in garbage time.
  16. Madden 99 was a bare bones game I played in the barracks after boot camp... comparing it to Madden 24 is ridiculous. It was on the N64! LMAO You're a part of the problem. It's a garish cartoon presentation of NFL football which has animations run the gameplay instead of the actual way NFL football is played. Every year they crank out new buzzwords like this year's gem- "Sapien Technology" and you fall for it hook, line and sinker. The ratings for the game have been ABYSMAL over the last 3 years and that's a fact. Here are the critic ratings by year: https://www.metacritic.com/game/madden-nfl-18/ 82 rating https://www.metacritic.com/game/madden-nfl-19/ 80 rating https://www.metacritic.com/game/madden-nfl-20/ 76 rating THEN.... https://www.metacritic.com/game/madden-nfl-21/ 63 rating https://www.metacritic.com/game/madden-nfl-22/ 68 rating https://www.metacritic.com/game/madden-nfl-23/ 69 rating https://www.metacritic.com/game/madden-nfl-24/ 65 rating People are going to get fired over the course of the year because of Madden 24, a "make or break" release. You're on the wrong side of history. https://insider-gaming.com/madden-24-make-or-break-release/
  17. I really enjoy Colin Cowherd but NOT his cohost Jason McIntyre, who is insufferable and says some really stupid things sometimes. I also enjoy the new First Take now that Shannon Sharpe is on the show. It's the one show that ESPN actually got right now... Other than that, the others are full of Jets cheerleaders and washed up talking heads.
  18. I have played Madden since the second game came out back in 1991, John Madden Football '92.... ...HOWEVER... There are many of us who stopped buying this POS product way back in 2020 because it is not real simulation NFL football, but an arcade-like version of NFL football. The animation based "Frostbite Engine" they use is utter crap, and everything funnels to MUT. NO "old guys" should be playing the current versions of Madden- EA should lose its exclusivity and a real quality product from hopefully 2K will be made. Save your time and money because Madden isn't it.
  19. I am, it is just tough getting old! Sometimes the challenges in our lives prevents us from doing what we really want to do, but I make the best of it thanks to a great woman by my side that's been there for over 20 years now. I really do appreciate the thoughts and thank you!!! GO BILLS, BILLS BY A BILLION!
  20. Despite my father being murdered in Niagara Falls, I love the area myself, and I have lived all over the country and overseas. Unfortunately time has caught up with me and my disabilities make it extremely hard to live in colder climates anymore, otherwise I probably would move to WNY somewhere. Fortunately through the magic of the internet I can live vicariously through some who still live there and can go to games. My mother also does the same and she does through her Lew-Port High Facebook group... she's almost 80 now and I feel so bad that her connection to the area is drying up.
  21. The amount of high risk collisions in college and pro football accounts for the numerous cases of CTE, and to lump it in with all of the other contact sports is disingenuous. The man still played college and professional football and it is still very much a possibility, even though this snap counts were not nearly as high as others who played in the NFL for 7 years. The percentage chance of someone in munitions in today's US armed forces getting CTE is probably much lower compared with football players exposed to a lot of high risk collisions.
  22. Now I must ask.... Can we get the NFL to finally have someone else make an NFL video game BESIDES EA??? Could you imagine the innovation bump by not renewing their exclusivity? Madden needs it BADLY.
  23. Politicians who vote for public stadium funding are your issue really. There are a ton of things I don't support that are funded but that's how our form of government works. We don't get to pick and choose...
  24. IT WAS AGAINST THE RAIDERS. Our problems HAVE ALWAYS stemmed from playing our rivals and not much weaker teams. I'll revisit this post in a few weeks when we get to the heart of our schedule.
  25. Big week this week! Some notes... - McCord has looked pretty cool under pressure, so this will be a huge test whether or not this carries over once he gets top level rushes in his face.
