  1. There is always a chance, but I sincerely doubt that Day will break from the Meyer way of committing to a QB and sticking with him... it would take a monumental effort by Brown or injury to change the depth chart IMHO. I have seen this movie too many times where even if the QB performs better, the established backup gets the job (see the disastrous Barrett decision where Burrow played better but Barrett was handed the job).
  2. Their sports program and fans care... just because the research part of a university doesn't care about its football program doesn't mean the OTHERS don't.
  3. I have never had a problem with them because he is playing a Jim Kelly style of football by pushing the ball down the field and taking chances. It's all about the durability and concerns over the physical toll he is putting on his body and exacerbated by the coaching staff not bolstering the running game- turnovers happen and are manageable, but the physical toll placed on Josh is being mismanaged.
  4. Cal is in serious trouble now... they put up such a stink over UCLA leaving WITH the Pac 12 being viable, so now with the dissolution of the Pac 12 they are really behind the 8 ball. I think they overplayed their hand and are going to pay a huge price. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/14/sports/ncaafootball/ucla-big-ten.html
  5. I hope you return soon and all is well! OH............
  6. Unfortunately on GetUp we have some clown like Kimberly Martin trying to compare Josh to Dak and of course always talking about interceptions. It's the job of some of these people to stir up controversy and they do their job well.
  7. You totally missed the point... poor personnel decisions is the common theme.
  8. Yes, REALLY... THREE of Cinci's starting offensive linemen were out and we failed to even get in Burrow's face or stop them from scoring 24 points in 3 quarters in snowy Buffalo. You're just wrong, and so was Stefon.
  9. Funny, but our defense and its fatal lapses caused us to exit the playoffs and not Josh.
  10. SO in 1999, months after TBD came into existence, I showed up here because there was literally no other way to talk Bills football being far from home back in those days and you had to go to the Rochester paper on the internet or to the BB newsgroup just to get some detailed Bills news. I can't really keep track of who has been here as long as I have, but those who have were probably here for the exact same reason. Nowadays getting information is so easy but to those who are TSW lifers we're still chugging along! 24 years on TSW for me... I still can't believe it has been that long.
  11. In 2012, I was Selected as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, which is the rank of E-7 in other branches. At the very end of the long and arduous transitional period after which ended in a ceremony, I was asked what song I wanted played. I chose "Eye of the Tiger" because not only it is SO inspirational but also because Rocky is close to my last name/nickname... and to have it played going into the final night was one of the single biggest moments of my entire life. I will never look at another Rocky movie the same way again, so the title of this thread got me instantly!!!
  12. Browns fans are pretty much in misery right now... but there aren't that many left to care LOL
  13. He's at least won a Super Bowl and knows what that experience is like as a player, a point of reference... McD is the only one to not have even that.
  14. Five from the Andy Reid coaching tree are now active NFL head coaches: John Harbaugh - Super Bowl XLVII champion (Head Coach) Ron Rivera - Super Bowl XX champion (player) Doug Pederson - Super Bowl XXXI champion (player), LII (Head Coach) Todd Bowles - Super Bowl XXII champion (player), XXXI (executive) and LV (assistant) Sean McDermott Of those five as you can see, only McD has never won a Super Bowl as a player or a coach, head or assistant. It's time to close the circle and make it 5 for 5. I'm ready for this great promise to end in a Buffalo Bills Super Bowl championship!!!
  15. They can have the bum... once again... just retire already and go cry in the mirror
  16. So Lou Saban who went 4-9-1 was a better coach than Don Shula because the undefeated Super Bowl champion Dolphins from 1972 struggled to win 24-23 at the Orange Bowl? A WIN is a WIN... ESPECIALLY when you go 13-4, and you don't seem to understand what that means.
  17. My grandfather had brain cancer in the early 1980s, long before they had this much technology. It's devastating to the family knowing that someone you love has a cancer that you won't be able to defeat no matter what. Just the bald head alone causes me to break down inside... and still questioning why we still can't figure a way to solve this to keep this from happening for many people, especially kids and young adults.....
  18. Four losses in total with two out of the four within the division doesn't make either of them better... and neither swept us.
  19. I LOVED Marv Levy... great person, inspiring, perfect mentality for a head coach. Although we didn't win the four straight Super Bowls, Marv did something that nobody else has ever done, which is getting us there, and it hasn't been done since. McDermott has had the opportunity to get us to those same heights at least, but grievous errors on defense two years in a row have cost us those chances. Our lack of commitment to the running game and allowing Josh to take on so much of the offense is also troublesome as the months go on. Now, at long last, we will see what's what, because Leslie Frazier is out and we have new offensive pieces. Put up or shut up time, and Stefon knows this as well.
  20. I am sure he is a good guy, but his job is on the line if we don't get at least to the AFC Championship Game or the Super Bowl. Love the story, but to be realistic about his job performance must be separated from the character of the person- it's what he is paid to do.
  21. Underwater welders GET PAID PREMIUM PAY for their job, though...
  22. Leonard Smith was one of the toughest Bills to ever play the game and he was passionate as hell... one of my absolute favorites and meeting him at a tailgate with Andre Reed in 1999 was just an amazing day.
  23. We have a real problem with associating money with success... all money does is allow a person to do more of what they want the more they have of it- it doesn't make them better or smarter, it just makes them rich. They don't want to pay RBs nearly as much because of their propensity for injury and wearing out a lot sooner... fine. That being said, if they are going to do that, they should be taken care of monetarily or through medical benefits that are commensurate with the extra wear and tear they place on their bodies. Frankly I am surprised that football remains as it is because of the cases of CTE that keep cropping up- these men want to be able to live comfortably after their career and the RB position is especially brutal. That being said, THEY APPROVED THE CBA and they must accept partial blame for this.
  24. Personally I think Ryan Day is in serious jeopardy after 2024 if he can't beat Xichigan... and I am also very concerned about the state of QB play as well going forward. When the playoff expands is when we will know what's what... I just hope that they get the QB right.
