Some of us are unable to go to any of those places, but the best wings available here in Ohio are from Quaker Steak and Lube, and they are surprisingly excellent. I think better yet would be to ask what the best wing places are out there in out of town enclaves 😑

My father didn't watch any football... took me decades to find out why. His twin brother was a high school football player and he died when his car drove off of a bridge and into the river right before their graduation. Extremely painful for him. I didn't have the legacy of passing on being a football fan that most here did. My mother was right in the middle of the excitement of the Bills seasons of the 1960s as she lived in Youngstown, NY and went to Fredonia and only later did she tell me about it and of course how all of her friends were enamored with Joe Namath 🤢 So, despite the handicap of being born just before OJ got his 2,000 yards, I have for decades now soaked up the history I never got to experience.

I'm suggesting that cheap rings can be had for below average starters at the QB position.

So meanwhile players like Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson say they are Super Bowl Champions while Dan Marino and Jim Kelly can't. Yeah, what a crock.

When players play at a very high level for so many seasons in professional sports, they should deserve the fruits of their labor being a championship, and not seeing them get at least one is hurtful at least a little for those players.

Nobody wants to be in the also rans group... the only thing that partially helps is induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but fans go on for years and years wondering what could have been and I'm sure those players have it eat at them in down moments. I'm a Knicks fan also in hibernation until Dolan is no longer a part of the team, and so the year 1992-1993 HURT big time.

After suffering through this list of quarterbacks below since the Super Bowl runs, IN NO WAY AM I EVER taking for granted this special time. Just looking at this list makes me cringe and shake my head, because players like Eric Moulds and Lee Evans and the defensive studs we had at the end of the last century got SCREWED. Losman Kelly Holcomb Trent Edwards Ryan Fitzpatrick Brian Brohm EJ Manuel Thad Lewis Jeff Tuel Kyle Orton Tyrod Taylor Matt Cassel Nae Peterman So yeah, old heads know, and that doesn't even cover the OLDER Mafia members who suffered through QBs just as bad in the 70s and early 80s.

I think we got a pretty good idea of that a long time ago.

O'Cyrus Torrence is playing at such a high level for a rookie that he might be the best guard we've had since Jim Ritcher if he keeps going!!! I was pumped when we drafted him, excited to see him gain a starting job, and then blown away by his play in the regular season. Just a special start...

Not I... I don't fall for the noise when other teams are struggling like we are in certain spots. My problem has always been with putting too much on Josh, but the way we have been running the ball (ESPECIALLY with Latavius Murray's DRIVE!) we are in a much better position!

Thought this would be a fun fact for today... I have his rookie card and when I saw the name, I thought back to our first QB in team history, Tom O'Connell: Aiden O'Connell is starting for the Raiders today, and he will be only the second O'Connell at QB to start in pro football history, the first being Tommy O'Connell of the Buffalo Bills. Here is the story of the first QB to start for the Buffalo Bills in its history on September 11th, 1960. "O’Connell won the starting job and was the first quarterback in the first game in Bills’ history. It took place on September 11, 1960, in the Polo Grounds against the New York Titans. From a personal and team standpoint, it couldn’t have gone much worse for O’Connell. He was 2 of 10 for 37 yards, and was replaced by Bob Brodhead. Tom also took a hit on a muffed reverse and had to exit the game for a while. The Bills lost the game, 27-3. “It should be remembered that we have 13 games to go,” O’Connell said afterwards. “We have to get meaner and throw caution to the wind.” Tom was better in the next game –13 for 23 for 218 yards with two touchdowns but with five interceptions. The Broncos won that one, 27-21. “As I see it, I was the goat of the game. I had that pass intercepted late in the game when we were leading and it led to the winning touchdown for the Broncos,” O’Connell said. He cut down on the interceptions in game three, going 6 for 16 for 131 yards with one touchdown and one pick. That was enough, as the defense pitched a shutout against the Boston Patriots in a 13-0 win –the first in team history. “The victory belongs, of course, to our defense,” O’Connell said. “This was the first time in our league (that) a team was shut out, in exhibition or league play. … Our team was alert and played sharp football for 60 minutes.” O’Connell made it through the season, playing in 11 games and starting in six of them. He finished 65 for 145 for 1,033 yards with seven touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Johnny Green, Bob Brodhead and Richie Lucas also did some throwing for Buffalo that season, and Green probably was the best of the bunch. The team finished with a 5-8-1 record. On February 2, 1961, O’Connell announced his retirement from football and was named an assistant coach. However, injuries forced the Bills to reactivate him on August 23. He started the season’s first game against Denver (a 22-10 loss) because Green was out with an injury. O’Connell was 1 of 5 for 11 yards with one interception, and then was knocked out of the game. Lucas saw the rest of the playing time at QB from there. “Let’s face it, quarterback is the biggest part of your offense. No quarterback, no offense,” coach Buster Ramsey said after the game. “We’ve lost our starting quarterback (O’Connell). The quarterback is the leader and when he went out, it demoralized the club. I’m going home and calling six National League coaches to see if I can round up some players.” Buffalo signed Warren Rabb later that week. Meanwhile, that game was it for Tom; he retired from playing soon afterwards and went back to coaching for the rest of the season.O’Connell finished his five-year pro career by completing 204 of 423 passes (48.2) percent for 3,261 yards with 212 touchdown downs and 34 interceptions. Dan Orlovsky is one of the worst commentators on television, just as bad as RGIII... Colin Cowherd is usually about as honest as you can get... he chose to ignore the Jets hype and left them out of his playoff prediction because of their offensive line. Most of the others are Jets sycophants who want the Bills to lose. The choices are a reflection of the times... not a very good time for sports on TV.

Now Tim Wakefield has brain cancer, and I am devastated for him and his family. Basically this is how the sausage is made, to use an old expression, playing playoff teams and proving that you are the better team and are ready to win a championship. I read quotes from Josh which give me hope that he will take what the defense gives him in order to win this game. I think that this game is a bellwether game that is classic great offense vs. great defense which adds to the spotlight, and Dorsey needs to deliver.

Our defense and McD as DC simply cannot be judged fully until we see them perform on Sunday, period. This is the week that I have been waiting for... Orchard Park, no 100 degree heat index with no shade, Dolphins at full strength on offense. Seize the day! GO BILLS

With Daboll, our offense was hitting its stride and scoring a lot of points in the playoffs. With Dorsey, our offense lost its mojo in the playoffs and Josh running the ball has been the plan of choice instead of committing to running the ball with our backs. McD has done a lot to improve our defense, but we will find out on Sunday if it is legit or not. Dorsey must eliminate the inconsistency and continue to keep Josh from doing the Bills in and getting him badly hurt.
