The guy is a mystery wrapped in a riddle wrapped in an enigma. Is he in the doghouse for some reason? Yet, when he plays he plays well (other than last year against JAX in London) and he makes big plays. Weirdest situation ever.

Week 9 - Dolphins at Bills Game Week Thread
st pete gogolak replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure I get the “desperation” angle. Last week at home against Arizona was their desperation game. Win and they’re 3-4 and still have a heartbeat. Lose and you’re 2-5 going to Buffalo. Well, they lost. Fins’ offense has to have a spectacular game to pull this off and I just don’t see it happening. -
This isn’t really serious but if you’re going to go after a kicker why not go for the guy who kicks 60 yarders like they are extra points - Brandon Autry. Say Cowboys drop another game before the deadline. What could entice them to actually deal an All-Pro kicker? Bass and a third? Can’t go higher than that. Lower I can’t see them very interested.

Remember when Bills moved Kelsay to OLB when they switched to a 3 - 4? Good times.

Week 8 - Bills @ Seahawks - post game thread

Something a bit lost in the general euphoria of the win was the great run defense. Kenneth Walker is a stud and they shut him down. Not sure why it was so good but it’s a great sign going forward if we can keep it up. -
I never thought I’d see worse late game defense than Bills - Chiefs playoff game. Congrats Bears! You’ve accomplished the impossible!

Have no idea what this means but Houston held Josh to 9 for 30 and yesterday held Anthony Richardson to 10 for 32. In an age when a 55% completion rate stinks, it’s wild that they have had two games holding opposing QB to 33%. It is really a weird outlier stat.

Random talking head says something about the Bills

I see what you did there. Bravo!🎉 -
Avoiding hurricanes takes time I don’t have. This is just eyeballing. Do you believe that they are running a lot of 12 personnel but not throwing to the TE’s?
-
Given the WR room and TE room before the season started, I was convinced that the Bills would run vast majority of offensive snaps out of 2 TE, 2 WR and 1 RB set, along the lines of the Peyton Manning, Tom Moore Colts (with Kincaid playing the Dallas Clark role). Couldn’t have been more wrong. Sporadic use at best. Kincaid’s stats are meh, Knox’s are nonexistent. Don’t know if it’s Josh, Brady or McDermott but they are obviously not comfortable with 2 TE as primary offensive formation. That’s why the Cooper trade is so great. Now we have legitimate vet WR to play outside. I’m beginning to believe some of the early scouting reports on Coleman that his best position is big slot. Move Shakir around. Whatever gadget plays drawn up for Samuel, give them to Shakir. Give Kincaid 3/4 or 2/3 of the snaps and look to trade Knox in the off-season. Let Hollins and Samuel take #4 and #5 WR snaps. This offense has a chance to really flourish and dominate. Still need a healthy defense (which never seems to happen at playoff time) and better D line and safety play but this team, in a supposed down year, has a real shot at a Super Bowl run.
-
Is the Cooper drop rate this year an aberration or has he always had lousy hands? I think he would be a good fit for the Bills. Let Coleman play slot and Cooper and Shakir outside. I'd be ok with a fourth for a rental. Maybe a little steep but I think we're a decent outside WR and a healthy D from making a run.

Worst (regular season) coached game in the entire McD era
st pete gogolak replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beating a dead horse here, but if the score was 42 - 42 and our offense was humming, sure take some shots. Plenty of time to move into FG range. But did McDermott watch the first 59 minutes of the game? Josh was 9 for 27 going into the last series for a 100 yards and change. Plus he was dinged up. Needed to kill clock, not because it was the “no brainer” thing to do but because the context made it the smart thing to do. -

Speaking of 13 seconds, did you see how far back the safeties were playing the play before game winning FG? 20 - 25 yards behind LOS. Hilarious. I guess that was to prevent a Hail Mary. -

Couldn’t believe Allen was in shot gun with no RB at the end. I thought, ok, QB draw. I would have been ok with play action pass on first down. But three straight low percentage passes from the shot gun? Atrocious. Beane had a lot of bad FA WR signings. Samuel might be the worst. Josh doesn’t look right at all, even before the concussion (I’m sorry, back spasms). Reminds me of stretch a couple of years ago after hard hit in GB game at home. -
This reminds me of Bills - Vikings game from a couple of years back. Vikings had about twenty chances to put the game away and didn’t do it.

Absolutely agree! Plant leg or no plant leg, it should been a no call because there was such minimal contact.

9/29/2024 Bills @ Ravens post game thread

The first half defense may have been the worst I have ever seen in watching 60 years of pro football. Eleven yards per play! Receivers open downfield without a defender within 10 yards of the receiver. Just awful. -
In one sense, I’m slightly surprised Washington selected him, only because Daniels reminded me of RG3. It would be like the Bills drafting a WR named Zay or a DE from Penn State. Obviously they made the right call (unless Daniels gets hurt next week).

A small part of the Chiefs secret sauce.

Really? The call in Bills’ game was questionable? Best line I heard was that if Toney was any more Offside, Bills would have been called for 12 men on the field. -
Yeah, that’s going to be Rogers’ Achilles heel (pun intended?) this year. He can still throw the ball well enough but he’s old, slow and just can’t move anymore. If his line starts breaking down, it’s going to be ugly.
