  1. Not worried about the game in general. Chiefs have won enough games like this this year (Raiders game in particular). I am worried about how bad the defense looked in the first quarter. Offense is going to be back pretty much intact next year (other than maybe Cooper and Ty Johnson. Sorry to say but any FA’s and the high draft picks are all going to go to defense.
  2. Oh, you mean megahurts. Very nice.
  3. I hope he plays against Houston. Anderson and Hunter going up against KC’s OT’s is going to be fun.
  4. The thing that totallly screwed the Lion’s strategy was a great play by Hollins. I assume Campbell thought worst case scenario was Bills’ ball on Lion’s 45 yard line. Hold Bills without a first down (unlikely), Bills punt. Hold them to a field goal (with Bills burning significantly less time off the clock than if you kicked deep) and Lions win with two TD’s. Again, risky but not totally moronic.
  5. The point of the thread is that it wasn’t idiotic. It was a high risk gamble but there were some non-crazy analytics behind it.
  6. The pundits lambasting Campbell for the onside kick are ignoring the new kickoff rules. If you “kick it deep”, Bills get the ball on their 30. Failed onside kick should give the Bills the ball on the Lion’s 45. So you’re giving up 25 yards for a less than 5% chance of retaining possession. Probably not smart analytics but not entirely nuts. What screwed it up was Hollins making a really nice play to put the ball on the Lion’s 5 yard line. Also, I liked Lion’s final onside attempt. Reminded me of our onside kick in Comeback Game. Christie dribbles it directly in front of him, Pike wipes out defender and Christie falls on the ball. We stole the play from Denver which used it against us the previous year. Detroit kicker had to contort himself to kick it “straight”, there’s no element of surprise and it may be borderline illegal under new rules but it’s better than most attempts I’ve seen.
  7. Don’t forget Geno Smith was a Jet draft pick as well. Just waiting on Zach Wilson to have break out season.
  8. I’ve come around on the false start and accepting the holding penalty. 4th and 5, 4th and 7, 4th and 10, the Rams are going for it on that series and they probably make it. Giving up 12 yards on 3rd and 17 was a killer.
  9. Remember the Greatest Show on Turf? Warner throwing to Bruce and Holt, Marshall Faulk running and catching? Their defense had mediocre talent (quick- name someone on that defense other than London Fletcher) but it was absolutely designed to be in sync with a high powered offense. Ultra aggressive, designed to come up with a few big plays a game. Same with KC when they had Hill and in his prime Kelce but their defense wasn’t the shutdown defense it is now. But Spagnola was very aggressive and came up with a couple of big plays per game, enough to win a couple of Super Bowls. It’s undoubtedly too late this year to do a 180 degree turnaround but if we don’t have playoff success this year, we absolutely need to go in a different direction next year. You know what they say about the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
  10. I know it won’t happen, but my God, can we use the last four games to at least experiment a little with the D? Use Elam in some man coverage. Play a 4 -3 with Williams on the field and TJ as free safety, play a 3 - 4 with Carter on the nose and TJ as fourth backer. Blitz like a maniac one game. Play Bishop. Maybe there is not enough talent on the D to win a championship. That’s a real possibility. But you are not - you are never - winning a championship playing soft zone with a porous run D and a substandard pass rush.
  11. Rapp and Hamlin 26 total tackles. The ENTIRE defensive line 18. Fellas, I think that’s the story right there.
  12. As Linus may have said, “of all Jameis Winston games, that was the most Jameis Winstoniest.”
  13. I know, I know, but still. If the PFF rankings are accurate, the Bills should be 0 - 12 this year. Josh Allen - 6th ranked QB. Cool. Unrelated. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know why the Bills were getting gashed up the middle so badly. Scheme? DTs? Bernard? Is that something that has to wait until the All-22's come out? Kinda hoping Carter comes back and solidifies the middle a bit.
  14. My point? When you’re a bad team (like the Colts) there aren’t any “easy” games.
  15. You mean like the easy game against the Pats?
  16. It’s too bad that there is not a “fair” way to incorporate sacks into QB rating. The sacks Tua took and the passes he missed in the first half were killers.
  17. Browns will be “desperate!”
  18. I only watched the first half but it’s hilarious Tua has a 117 passer rating in a game that he absolutely stunk.
  19. Does Storm Duck have a brother who plays in the secondary? Can Miami sign Rachad Wildgoose? Miami can field a secondary of Duck, Duck, ‘Goose!
  20. An NFL team can’t be any more healthy than this going into week 13. Wouldn’t opposing team know something is up? Bills never line up in an I on a QB sneak. Can you pull that play off in tush push formation?
  21. So their season wasn’t on the line on Sunday? If they lose, at worst they are two games out of division lead with a bunch of inter-division games left. They’ll play Purdy if he’s healthy enough to play. If he’s not, they won’t.
  22. Tannenbaum’s a clown (he would match well with Rex). Last year on Get Up he predicted Prescott would throw for 400 yards and the Cowboys would rout the Bills. Oops 😬!
  23. Rather than start a new “kicker” topic, how about this? The Curse of making game tying or game winning 59 yard FG’s against the Bills. Both Elliot and Fairburn have gone in the toilet since making their kicks against the Bills.
  24. I must be missing something. How can a FA who leaves to go to another team have a dead cap hit?
  25. I’m just going to say it again. No one - NO ONE - is that stupid. Bills should have made Schwartz HC instead of that clown who went out and destroyed what was a really, really good D under Schwartz. That’s why I always wonder about folks who call for McDermott to be canned (obviously less of that lately). If you look at Pegula’s hiring Ryan and his entire history with the Sabres, odds are he just got very lucky with McDermott and Beane.
