Wow. That’s some stat. 20 - 3 over the last 4 - 5 games of the season (one of the losses being a rest the starters last year at NE). Very impressive.
-
Crazy, right? Not sure it passes the eye test. Guess we’ll find out on Sunday.
-
I’d be shocked if we got a #2 for Dawkins. 31 year old very good but not great LT? A fourth? Maybe a third?
-
As much as a bunch of people despise aspects of Brady’s offense (me included), it is built to win in cold weather, bad weather. Just so happens that each of the last five games will potentially be bad and/or cold weather games. I doubt that the run the table but, yeah it’s possible.

Not sure if you were like me but I was screaming “play action” after two successful runs. Nope. Third run would go nowhere. Worked yesterday but we’re going to have to mix in more play action going forward.

Was anyone upset with the sequence near the end of the first half. It’s a minor annoyance given the final score but I thought it was botched pretty badly. Fourth and goal from around the three or four. Just under a minute left and Bills have all three time outs. I’m thinking kick the FG and maybe get the ball back with a chance to add three more given how poorly the Pittsburgh offense was playing. Instead, we go for the TD, call time out after looking at Steeler’s D (that ends any chance of getting the ball back), go back out and commit a penalty ending chance of going for it. Happy we got the FG but just a Keystone Kops sequence. Also, if we miraculously do anything in the postseason it will the Bosa play that turned the season around.

So What Was the Deal on the Penalty After the Pitt TD?
st pete gogolak replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Assuming that’s accurate, that’s not a great decision by McDermott (the first penalty, not the second). It’s a quirk of the rule that you really don’t gain any real advantage by enforcing it on the kickoff. Better to make the kicker try a 48 EP on a windy night. Was that option even available? -
Personal foul for unsportsmanlike conduct on Metcalf after Pittsburgh TD. Ref goes to McDermott. Penalty will be enforced on the kickoff. Nope. Can’t be enforced on the kickoff. So Boswell kicks a 33 yard extra point instead of a 48 yard extra point. And Pitt kicks off as if no penalty whatsoever had been called. But wait. Stenatore says it can be enforced on the kickoff! What a cluster****. Can anyone make sense of any of this?

Week 13, Bills v. Squeelers, GAME BALLS!
st pete gogolak replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was great to see Ray Davis in 2024 form. He looked quick and fast. Could be a nice positive down the stretch. -
You can look at the 2019 draft as McBeane’s “original sin” (I’m not going to blame draft solely on Beane - you’re nuts if you think McDermott doesn’t have huge input into draft process). Maybe you live with Oliver over Wilkins, Simmons and Lawrence, but Cody Ford instead of A.J. Brown or Metcalf was a franchise-changing mistake. I keep on harping over the fact that they must have done at least some scouting on Brown and Metcalf since they drafted Dawson Knox a round later. All three played at Mississippi State!

What does "Complementary Football" mean in Bills Coachspeak?
st pete gogolak replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s really insane when you think about it. Do you think our offense would look like this if we had an offensive minded HC and GM from the get-go of Allen’s career? First priority would be get Josh an offensive line that could protect him. Second get him some weapons. Third, fashion a defense which is high risk, high reward, i. e. designed to get the ball back in Josh’s hands as many times and as soon as possible. I’m thinking the Rams defense during the Greatest Show on Turf era. Instead, we have a ball control offense designed to minimize turnovers and a bend but don’t break defense which fails in the post-season every damn time. It’s crazy. -
I’m not sure if it’s such a mystery that the Bills and Chiefs are struggling somewhat this season. I remember after the four year Super Bowl run people were pointing out that the Bills played close to a full extra season in those playoffs and it took a toll. Chiefs and Bills have played a lot of extra games over the last several seasons. Maybe it’s taking a toll. Why weren’t the Patriots impacted the same way you might ask. Well, they almost always had a bye and almost always were at home. Plus, they were ruthless in turning over veteran players and bringing in younger, cheaper players.

Went looking to see where this might rank in the record books and weird, couldn't find it other than record for a playoff game (Sam Darnold, 82 yards lost against the Rams). If this had been a playoff game, would have ranked second all time. In other words, that's a lot of yards lost resulting from sacks.
-
I mentioned this in a prior post but can’t get over the incredulous nature of this stat. In the entire 17 game 2024 season, Bills QB’s lost a total of 68 yards resulting from sacks. Thursday night we lost 70 yards from sacks, more in a single game than the entire 2024 season. Just mind-blowing.

Long list of Bills UFA / void year after the season
st pete gogolak replied to GoBills!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Hasn't this been covered to death? It wouldn't be the end of the world to not resign a single FA. Maybe bring back McGovern, possibly Bosa, maybe not. Lots of guys going to be gone. -
After the SB loss to the Giants, the consolation was thinking “this team is way too talented not to win a SB”. The 1990 Bills should have won it all that year. Thoroughly out coached in the SB. But next year, ran into a really, really good Redskins team. Redskins were better. After that, the post Hershel Walker Cowboys. Cowboys were better. I always wondered how it would have played out if we had traded for Charles Haley and if he and Bruce Smith were rushing the passer instead of Haley going to the Cowboys. Maybe we end up winning one. Of course, that was pre-salary cap and Ralph was cheap.

11/20/2025 Bills @ Texans post game thread
st pete gogolak replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
No trolling at all. The one play in mind writing this was Johnson being dragged four yards on 4th and 1 when he hit the guy behind the line of scrimmage.
