  1. I’m going to pass on paying a guy with one good season as a pass rusher and marginal run defender $12M under a tag.
  2. This is incorrect. Dareus is in the last year of his deal, and the only guaranteed money left is the $2.5M bonus. The rest of the $22.5M cap figure is accounted for by his base salary of $9M, his roster bonus of $10M, and his workout bonus of $0.5M...all of which do not get paid is he’s not on the roster. His cap hit is $22.5M if he’s kept; it’s $2.5M if he’s cut. Cap savings is $20M.
  3. Detroit’s GM was VP of personnel in NE; makes sense.
  4. Christian Covington
  5. No issues with where Allen is listed—Murray is my only beef. He had decent numbers. Remember though he’s throwing to a HOFer and Christian Kirk. Plus their run game ranked 3rd in the NFL in YPC.
  6. I hear ya...he was also saying on the XFL broadcast how much he’s enjoying the job and the time he’s had coaching his kids in sports etc.
  7. I would not expect to hear anything definitive before Friday at the earliest. And for the record, it’s only a hunch, but I believe Olsen will end up retiring.
  8. I’ll call a 4.35 for KJ
  9. Oh heck no.
  10. Ooh. That there is a tough call. I mean, Addison has been a more productive pass rusher the last 4 years, but Yannick is much younger and has more upside. If pressed I’d probably go with Addison since he knows the scheme and has proven that he’ll continue to perform after getting a payday.
  11. I think Addison is an excellent pass rusher that is scheme diverse. To me, the jump from Shaq’s career-best 6.5 sacks to Addison’s 4-year average of 10.5 is worth the extra $$
  12. A Foles trade would only save them $3M
  13. Why isn’t anyone drafting muh boy Jonathan Greenard? ?
  14. OMG remember when folks said that they don’t want Clowney because he might be another Mario Williams? ? Yeah, how dare the guy pop off for 38 sacks and 51 TFLs in his first 3 seasons ? I’d trip over my own man parts (if I were so endowed) sprinting to pay a guy $20M AAV if I could have those numbers.
  15. The only cut that makes sense is Kroft. They currently have 5 TEs with NFL experience under contract and are looking at others in FA, so letting Kroft go and saving appreciable cap space makes sense. The others are just cute for the sake of cuts. They make the team worse at the expense of cap room that isn’t needed.
  16. Yep...I’ll never understand it. The minute Cordy got paid he was PE1
  17. Wow, really? I mean, I know you’re an astute fan, so I gotta ask why?
  18. I am a big Jones fan, and I really thought he was going to be their pick at 19. I have reason to believe that Doug liked him a lot.
  19. Well, he played both, but as far as I can remember he played more on the left side than right. Can’t find a reliable reference for snap counts per side...only total. The last question is really important...my answer is “both, because they can afford it”.
  20. What? No. https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/relationships/a26551655/us-divorce-rate/
  21. 100.4 is what the cool kids are saying these days
  22. Reeks of an agent or some advisor telling him that being settled would improve his image among NFL teams.
  23. For what reason? Why don’t we want multiple good players at the same position? Do we really believe that this team needs even more cap space at the expense of keeping a good rotational guy? I mean, suppose if the money is 1:1 with him and Shaq, you could at least make an argument, but Shaq will probably command a pile of guaranteed money and a longer-term commitment. If you’re already going after an upgrade at LDE, it doesn’t make sense to tie yourself to Shaq too.
  24. You want to sign Chris Jones to play EDGE in McDermott’s scheme? Are you sure you watch the NFL?
